Paul was my salesman and he went above and beyond to find a rim for me that I could use for a spare on my vehicle. It was kind of tricky but he went above and beyond and got me hooked up!
If I could give zero Stars I would. These people are straight scammers. They lie and say they're going to refund your money and don't then when you dispute it with your bank they lie like they did the service Knowing damn well he did not send my husband that part that we paid for. He told us out of his mouth he didn't even have the part in stock that he would refund us our money a month later he lied and said he lost the invoice and needed the information to refund us which we gave him and it is now may and he still has not refunded our money. Do not work with these people or you will regret it. They were recommended To Us by another company do not do business with this company or you will regret it.
Black's Auto Salvage is the best auto salvage yard in the Baton Rouge region! And if you can't find the auto part you need, they can check their large network of other salvage yards across the south and order it for you. So Black's Auto Salvage is really a problem solver!
Sorry customer service. I called for a part was placed on hold and they never came back. Went to the place stood for the longest no one acknowledged me at all so I left and took my business somewhere else. Bad
Looks CAN be deceiving..... If I ever need another used part for mine or any family member, I WILL check with Black’s Auto Salvage.
I almost ended up paying 4x more at another place for the same thing.
Their customer service was above and beyond. Really reminded me of the way it use to be.

The salesman Troy was a great help, the lowest price for the best part. If you are looking for a great place with great service for a excellent price for you're vehicle, go to Blacks auto salvage don't waste you're time with a faceless multinational company like LKQ, whose only goal is profit keep you're money local!!!!

Awesome experience!! I call this morning gave him me vehicle and what I needed. He told me they had it in stock, but he took time out his day to take pics and send them to me to make sure I had the right rim for my car. I called and confirmed it was the right one and I was on my way. When I got there the service was fast. Hats off awesome experience
Carol provided supurb service replacing a non functioning antilock brake unit. I am stunned by Black's warranty policy. I HIGHLY recommend Black's and will certainly use them again. I fully expected to be told "tough luck, guy."
Troy at Black's Auto Salvage did an outstanding job of working with me to purchase and transport a part for a vehicle that I am working on. I never had any doubt as to the condition of the part thanks to the honesty of Troy. I was able to purchase it, site unseen, have it picked up by a third party, and transported to me thanks to them for a very affordable price. 10/10, would buy from them again!
Blacks went above and beyond to help me get transportation during a family emergency. The cost of the part was a few dollars but they spent over an hour making sure we left there with the correct part. First time stopping by and will never forget how helpful they were.
$2500 for a re-manufactured part + $1800 for the labor. Add in rental fees while my vehicle is being repaired only to learn that the re-manufactured part was not completely remanufactured. No apologies, ZERO empathy.
The suggested recourse from Troy, the salesman?? Bring the vehicle in so that a third party can "remedy" the situation and continue to cover your own rental fees while the third party does what should've been done prior to the sale.
We should've recognized the red flag: after paying for the part, we were told the third party "went out of town" and the part would be available in a few days. Jokes on us, right? Wrong. My recourse will be much different than their suggested recourse. Small claims filing fees in West Baton Rouge Parish are only a fraction of the money I’m out and the issue is not yet resolved. Principle is everything, so the civil law system will be my path of recourse.
We have dealt with Black's on several occasions and they always came highly recommended however this experience is enough to end that happy trail.

Miss Rhonda was very nice and courteous and very patient with helping me with what I was looking for I got my motor on time faster than when what she said I will go back there anytime and I will deal with Miss Rhonda I think everybody there is very nice but she was very nice and patient with me she even put my part on hold for me I recommend Black's to anyone I give it a 10
Went here on the word of a friend who dealt with them brought an engine for an 01 corolla engine. Troy was my salesman who assured me their engines are tested and are good. The first engine had a knock when we cranked it took video of engine sent to Troy who told me he needed a day to get with their mechanic to determine if it was bad. So they replace this engine with another one which ran perfect but had a water leak on block near passenger side motor mount due to wreck. So I call Troy again who by the way is one big Liar!!!! After the back and forth with him they finally come and pick car up to supposingly to put a permanent fix on leak which they couldn't and they call me to give me my money back for the engine and 1 install refund..which I still lost out on gas, install, parts,oil etc. I advise not to deal with Troy because he will lie to you with a straight face..
Pretty friendly. Order what I needed from another place. It was a bit hot in there and the building itself was questionably sturdy but overall it was a successful venture.
Karl always helps me when I need something. He even came and help me before. Every nice and friendly service. If they don't have it they can find it for you.
I needed an engine for my work truck, I called a few places and honestly I got quoted some prices that were cheaper, but NONE come with a warranty. All the other places were the " pull the part type " where you take the part out yourself, get it installed and hope that it works. I called blacks and spoke with Matt when he explained they were a little " pricier " because they had a warranty and tested their products.
I'm not a mechanic so knowing I didn't need to pay someone to take out an engine from the other " pull it yourself " type of place then remove my engine, then install one that might work wasn't an option. Matt kept in touch throughout the entire process which included him calling me a week later to see how things were going. I'm happy with my purchase and the engine runs like a sewing machine.
If you want good customer service and service after the sell, call Matt at Blacks auto salvage I'm glad I did.
Have to edit my story a bit, my sons 2005 Nissan Maxima started having trouble with the rings, ( smoke everywhere ) I called Matt, AGAIN, and once again he came through with a great engine, no issues what so ever. Matt is my go to guy when it comes to used parts. His customer service is second to none, fast friendly service that has been greatly appreciated !
Called ahead to have parts pulled. Drove over an hour one way only for them to tell me they were never pulled and we should have called first. The problem with that is we had called that morning and were told they would be pulled and ready in the afternoon. So I'll never deal with them again. Thanks for nothing Blacks Auto Salvage
Terrible service!! I dealt with Black's Auto Salvage twice and I was not happy. Recently, I called about a part for my vehicle and they told me that they have it. I was told two different prices on that same part. They asked for my number and told me they were going to call me when they pull the part from the vehicle in which I was told twice. I haven't received a phone call all. Every time I call, someone picks up with an attitude. So I called today and I was told that the part was bad and it had to be trashed!! COMPLETE WASTE OF MY TIME!! Last year they sold me a bad transmission and I had extended warranty and they didn't want to replace it. Before the purchase, the guy told me the next customer would have gotten a higher price on the bad transmission he sold me. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR YOUR MONEY ON THESE PEOPLE!!!!! I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!!!!
I buy and fix cars in my spare time, so I need a lot of auto parts...and buying them new is rarely an option! I used to go to LKQ for auto parts but the service there is awful and their prices are through the roof. Since I started using Black's Auto Salvage they've either got the part already on the shelf or they will order it for you. All of the salesman are friendly and ready to help. I don't know about the previous two reviewers...I've been put on hold before but never for longer than a couple minutes. Black's has been my one stop shop for the last four years!
I called Black's Auto Salvage to get a price on a couple of parts because I had used them before in the past. I call them and am immediately put on hold. I was left on hold for about 20 minutes. I was trying to be patient because I understand how busy it can be sometimes. When the guy finally came back to the phone and asked me what I needed I told him that I needed a passenger side power heated mirror for a 2007 GMC Sierra Classic. While he is looking through his database he is making all kinds of noises in my ear like he is coughing up mucus or something. He then gives me the price on the wrong mirror. After I corrected him on the part that I needed he starts talking to someone else about a part for their car, completely ignoring me and the fact that I was STILL waiting! He finally comes back to the phone and ask me for my credit card number! I told him that he never even told me if he had the correct part and what the cost was. The last straw was when he put me back on hold with no warning for another ten minutes and then comes back and ask for my vehicle information AGAIN for me to start all over again! This is probably needless to say but this is when I finally told him to forget it and hung up. Oh yeah, and to top it all off their website was not working properly. Needless to say I will be going elsewhere to find parts for my vehicles!!!
Terrible service. Received a expensive part that was damaged in shipping. Not only they refused to work with me to replace it they actually accused me of returning the wrong part. Unbelievable what these people will do to save a buck. Dishonest bad business. Do not waist your time with these guys.
