This is a salvage store. Things are close dated or outdated. If you are the type to believe the date is a suggestion for maximum freshness, then go by and save some money!
Everyone who I came into contact with was wonderful. The employees are all so helpful and the tall thin man was wonderful. He helped me out with my food and put it in the car.
Prices used to be good but ever since they started getting more of the healthier foods the prices went way up. Might as well but it brand new with better dates.. Better quality.
My family and I love The Salvage Store! We always find amazing deals on some of our favorite drinks, snacks, and groceries! Found cases of my favorite flavored waters for under $6 a case!!!
This used to be the best deal on the North Shore. The store has undergone a pleasant rearrangement of merchandise and there are still some super deals to be found.
The sad part is that the prices have escalated very quickly over the past year and now unfortunately some of the prices for the salvage items actually exceed the regular grocery store price so you have to be very careful.
Staff are friendly and helpful. Store is usually clean & inviting. Unfortunately, I shop there only occasionally now because the prices on most of the products are too high for a salvage store, especially on products that are expired! I wish they would have more dog & cat food too. I still would recommend it, but beware of the prices.
I really like this store. Great place to stop in if you are looking for deals or have really flexible meal plans. Doesn't work well with structured diet or meal plans because inventory is always changing. I got a great deal on cheese, pita chips and canned drinks. Next time the best deal might be bacon and olives... you never know.
It's a hodge poge of everything some is dirt cheap others are normal price. But you never know what you will find. These days finding really good prices is hard so we go check there often. The store is jam packed and navigating with a buggy can be difficult and parking is somewhat limited.
Occasionally they have some great deals on things they get in. But it's never consistent. But you can find some very rare deals well worth buying. Even if in a large pkg you can break it up and freeze in portions!! If you get something home and its bad I cant think of a time they haven't made it good!! The bread!! They usually have a great option. At one time they were trying to compete with the high dollar grocery store in town selling the SAME thing. Thats what WILL keep the prodicts on the shelf!! The GOOD prices are what drew people to the store!! Stretching the dollar!! The bad thing is once you find something you may love, you better go grab as many as you can, because sometimes when its gone, it IS GONE!!! I MISS the deli!! The employee's are helpful, but...get a "NICE" store manager PLEASE!!!! NOBODY that shops there or works there can't stand him. He's GRUMPY and ugly to everybody!!!!
He acts like he hates being there and it's NOT just ONE day, it's EVERYDAY!!!! PLEASE let him find another job!!! We've been going there almost 20 years and he is hands down THE WORST Manager EVER!!!
Just about everything is well beyond the expiration date, hence the name. Sometimes way out of date, but many things are still a great buy. They now have more freezers and coolers and they are selling cold beer.The floors and the shelves are cleaner and everything is so much more organized than ever before. Keep up the great work to whomever you are that has been keeping up with it, the effort and hard work shows.
There are also some items well within the expiration date, or don't expire, like paper goods and certain plastic products. Folsom is beautiful and the local highways are an escape from the constant city view.
The staff are usually great. They keep it clean and organized. My only complaint would be the the young girl working the other day and her trashy mouth. If the owner was there I would have I pulled him aside for sure.
Lots of unusual foods and ingredients at really good prices. Huge freezer section that wraps around entire store filled with what seemed to be bulk food service products with prices cheaper than the regular grocery store. If you have a deep freezer it would be worth it to stock up, especially in today's current climate.
Freaking amazing. I love the salvage store. Honestly my husband and I grew up poor so when we go to this store we buy way too much every time. We're not poor anymore but the impulse to hoard cheap food is still there lol. This store has a huge variety of name brand goods, alcohol, even produce! Most of their prices are amazing. Like a huge block of cheese for only 10 bucks (and I mean HUGE) or a humongous pack of chicken tenders for 7 bucks! I mean you can't lose with those prices. There are items that are occasionally overpriced but the rest of the store is packed wall to wall with amazing deals. My absolute favorite store.
I've been coming to this store for years . When your budget is tight ,This store is for you . You like saving this , stores for you. The ladies (staff) are friendly . They always have good bargains . It'll be different from week to week . But you will save and find deals . More for the buck . More for the family meals .
This is a great place to pick up bargains on groceries. Usually the items are at least half the cost of big chain stores. I would however recommend check in expectation/sell by dates. Depending on the product you are still good after those dates, just use commonsense. I personally have never got anything bad from there, I have only got great deals. Like can goods that are less than half off. A good way to help stretch your grocery budget.
You won't find a better deal on the bread anywhere else! Great selections. I've found a wheel of cheese that was one of the best rated from France! At 1/4 of the price! It was an unbelievable find. Organic peanut butter for 3$, where else would you find that? Great deals, but like shopping at a thrift store, you need an eye, but treasures can definitely be found there.
Love this place. It's worth the drive. We just bought so much food for probably a THIRD of the price. The staff are super sweet and the selection is overwhelming!!
You can never be in a hurry when visiting this location. There's always so much to choose from & some of the best deals around. Pay attention to the dates on items because some has expired (but not all). This is the place to shop rather you're a single household or have several members in the home. There's something good for everyone here to enjoy & you'll love the prices!
Love this store. It's well worth the beautiful drive. There's always an unexpected surprise waiting and the staff is wonderful. If you're driving a good ways do take a cooler with some ice, you'll surely find great buys in the frozen goods and produce and much more.
4 to 5 stars, including their liquor store next door. Great prices on near- and post-dated food. Unfortunately, about a third of the products are unpriced so it can be frustrating. The family loves the grab bags of snacks. It's like Halloween for adults. The liquor store is a treat, but open only Wednesday through Saturday.
