First time took very good care of a new customer, was offered water and walked through the steps I needed to do. Extremely helpful with great prices. 10/10 highly recommend.
I have been dealing with uptown recycling for over 25 years and the company and staff have been and treated me with the best respect and they are very timely and courteous to me I have enjoyed my experience with this company
Scammed me out of 58$.. said they had to write a check for the remainder of what I was owed and after an hour at the bank and a handful of phone calls I had to leave the bank with an uncashed check
Sold 401 lb clean aluminum advertised @ $.50 per lb and got $.15 per lb because it had less than 4% steel. They paid me $60.15 AND owed me $$200.50 for a truck load of aluminum transmission cases that took over 2 days to clean. I will never go back there again and recommend everyone else to do the same. It won't pay your labor.
This is stealing and explaing why $300,000 of stolen steel from the old Times Picayune building was found in the yard. Both Mayor Cantrell and I wonder why the police havn't locked down this place yet, as the law dictates.
We are always traveling state to state and using different companies for our recycling needs. Uptown has been one of the best and quickest for service and placement. Deborah in dispatch and Nathan one of the drivers both have gone above and beyond.. it's not often you get to deal with people so willing to help. Uptown is lucky to have you both and you will be the reason we use them every time we come back!

The owner or boss here a big tall white guy an his little coworker. An older black man like to pressure people into selling to them directly. Sign papers, then run around on stolen things an then begin to teach you about live well committing crimes now the day I went I seen alot there recycling wonder how many of them where given a lesson as well. Robbing them of work an money too. An causing fines from stealing plates
The closest you are going to get to feeling like you are in line at a Louisiana State Prison. You thought the DMV was bad, Uptown Recycling takes it to a whole new level. As honorable as recycling is, the process, wait time, and TBD payment as I wait in line for almost 2 hours now with less than 10 people in line. Definitely a wild experience to say the least.
My husband and I just went there this morning. Everyone is friendly and very helpful, and their prices are fair. I would have rated it 5 stars, but this one guy that works there has an atitude problem and barks out orders at his fellow emplyees and very rude to all the customers including us, but he was the only one not working, imagine that, lol. Theres one in every crowd, but our overall experience was pleasant! Way better than airline!
The guys were all nice and professional for being scrap yard workers anyway. This place pays the most out of any other place that I called and it was quick I was in and out in about 15 minutes. There were a few people in front of me but still thats pretty fast.
Always busy and sometimes the other customers are a bit scethy lol but the employees are very fair on the price/cash back they give you and are very helpful. Especially Red, he's awesome!

Line is real slow, I spent 1 1/2 hours here from beginning to end. Ridiculously slow, and the drug addicts skip you in line.
Don't come here. You will waste your time here and might catch a disease.
For the most part everyone that works there are helpful and pleasant . Bruce will make?. you feel important no matter how much metal you have. The reason I don't give 5 stars is middle management and it's lack of of professionalism. But don't let that dissway you, the rest of the staff work hard to get you in and out.
This is the only place I go, fair prices most of the time it's fast but they are business some times and it takes it little longer than usual... (THEY ARE 100% BETTER THAN SOUTHERN SCARP THAT PLACE IS A JOKE)
Was terrible service! They will give you one price on the phone that isn't the right price to get you to come. The people there are rude and will curse and you! Their scales are off too. I know this cause I weight my scrap before bringing it in and their weight will be less. Whatever you do, do NOT go here!!!!!
