If I could give zero stars I would. They towed my car, authorized by NOPD as a free tow because I was a student going out of town for a few weeks on break and it was towed for road work while I was already away. I was instructed to call when I returned to pick up my vehicle. I returned on a Saturday and they told me I couldn't come pick it up until Monday. On Monday they informed me that it would be over $1000 to retrieve my car even though it was supposed to be free. Not sure how they expect me to pay that as a student. Extremely rude representatives that I spoke with on the phone trying to resolve the issue. 0/10 would not recommend.
Update: They neglected to tell me in all of our calls that they don’t allow you to pick up your car on weekends (but still charge of course) and they only take cash. What college student has over $1000 to give in cash when there was an agreement that this was free?? Also the people I spoke to have been so rude this entire situation.
I had a terrible experience with RJS Towing. My car was towed on 9/11 after getting stuck in floodwaters. On 9/12, I called to pick it up but was told the yard was closed so fast forward to 9/13, I called again and was quoted $341 over the phone for my car being in there on the day they wouldn’t let me get the car because they claim they was closed and claimed it was due to state fees. However, when I got there, the lady suddenly claimed the fee was $450 instead of $341.
To make matters worse, they never mentioned over the phone that they don't take cash, and there are no ATMs on-site. I had to Uber to a bank 15 minutes away, wasting time and money. This lack of communication and professionalism is unacceptable.
Returned to pick up my car with $360 thinking i’ll get change back but she kept the $360 cash stating it’s originally $450 despite what I was told earlier at 9am.
Also, when I looked at the receipt, I realized there was no state fee listed at all—just charges for storage, towing, fueling, an admin fee, and a convenience fee.
I believe they are taking advantage of people, and after reading similar reviews, I’m not the only one. I would not recommend RJS Towing to anyone. If you need towing services, steer clear of this place!

Very shifty towing service - called a tow truck to retrieve my vehicle and was told by the tow truck driver that the towing charge was $185, however, they conveniently forgot to mention that the “Recovery” fee for the vehicle was $169. Why would getting the vehicle on the tow truck not be included in the towing cost? And why would I call a tow truck if it didn’t need to be put on the back of a tow truck? Isn’t that was a towing charge is? TO TOW YOUR CAR?? Then after my vehicle was towed to the yard, I received more undisclosed fees such as a $42 fuel surcharge for an 8 mile tow, a $5.64 charge for writing letters on my back windshield, and a lovely admission fee of $34.50. This towing company made a horrible experience of crashing my vehicle so much worse. This company has some questionable business practices at best, and I would recommend going elsewhere for towing services - somewhere that actually discloses the charges and fees before you have to pay them. PLEASE DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!
They couldn’t be bothered. I had difficulty hearing the man who answered the phone over passing traffic and a poor connection, so I had to ask him to repeat himself. He hung up on me mid call. It was 3 am and I was alone with two flat tires. Thankfully, B&M answered the call, was quick, and excellent service!
I called and they were there ASAP. I was in a very bad situation and the driver did not want to give up until he got it but it was too muddy. The drivers name is Michael and he was determined to get it out. I mean he did not want to give up. This guy must make a lot of money or he needs a very big raise/bonus. Thanks for your help Michael.
It took longer for my wife to go to the ATM and retrieve the cash than for Michael to show up, be incredibly nice, get our car out of the mud, and chat with me for a while. 10/10, recommending this service and especially Michael to anyone who needs a tow.
The driver mike was real cool and respectful and was professional... the owner came off as a jerk at first but the tow truck driver was the total opposite
We broke down in New Orleans and had to be towed back to Abita Springs. Joey picked us up and dropped us home before bringing car to shop. Very nice. Truck was an exceptional ride. I give them a 5 star ❤️
I was really bummed about my vehicle but the driver was awesome he instantly cheered me up and also waited for my son to pick me up this is the only tow company I will use from now on hopefully it won't be anytime soon thanks again for amazing and speedy service customer service is everything to me and you guys got it down pat🥰
The lady I spoke with on the phone yelled at me a threatened to keep my car for extra days. This place is a real joke and I would NEVER recommend this business to even my worst enemy. One of the rudest people I’ve ever spoken too. I hope they go out of business and she learn how to treat people. Terrible experience. Do not use this company!
Owner is a foul-mouthed and trashy. Without reason, the owner was upset because I simply questioned his prices to help me compare rates. He abruptly hung the phone up in my face after cursing me out and challenging me level of education. I wished I had read the reviews before wasting my time connecting with this company.
This review is being given as my husband's car was towed. He had personal belongs that were in his vehicle that were stolen. While in the possession of this company. Customers and Victims need to speak up and report this company for the criminal activity that continues. Please beware!!
I would definitely recommend. Fast efficient service, very affordable, and great driving towing my bus. So great, I called my friends to have their bus towed also.
They are so kind and respectful the woman on the phone was so helpful and understanding. She gave me a list of other places to call and advice on how to locate my vehicle and even a little encouragement and for my frustration. Great customer service
Damaged my rear wheel and tire driver denied doing it and the owner started questioning my with with a attitude and refused to repair it. These people loss my business and will never recommend to any friends might hurt me on this but long-term it hurts you when you do business like this good luck
