I am currently parked behind the Hilton downtown. I parked here last night and have receipt and proof of purchase of parking valid until tonight. I came out over an hour ago to find my truck booted. I have called, emailed and called repeatedly for over an hour and still no response. I brought my grandchildren to enjoy a couple of days in BR, this one is half over and all we have done so far is SIT IN THE TRUCK waiting on American Coachworks to do their job....

My family member from Texas was visiting for a family emergency and was booted within 20 minutes because no visitor spots were available. While the $150 fee is high, this company tried to charge an additional $40 "officer fee" to actually remove the boot. This is a direct violation of Baton Rouge Ordinance Sec. 9:1405 and Louisiana R.S. 32:1741, which states the boot must be removed at NO additional charge once the fee is paid. This $40 fee was also hidden and not disclosed on the tag. These are predatory, fraudulent and misleading tactics used on people in distress. Please report this company if you have had a similar experience.

This company is fraudulent. They boot vehicles that are parked legally and will not remove the boot unless fee is paid. I would not trust or do business with this company.

I am a truck driver. I parked in an empty lot to go and see where I deliver my load to. I am in 53ft trailer. I walked next door to see how to get in and when I came back 15 minutes later I had a boot on my truck. I told the woman I am trying to make a delivery and that did not matter. If I was sleeping there I would understand, but I am trying to work!!!!

Yall put a boot on my car for no reason I literally had the sticker for the apt complex on there. Next time I sue

literally got booted in the apartment complex where I live, despite having already registered my vehicle. I strongly condemn communities that choose to cooperate with predatory towing companies—profiting from both ends while exploiting people through complex legal clauses. Anyone who takes part in this profit chain will face the karma they deserve.

I went to the City Heights apartment complex in Denham Springs to visit my grandchildren and my pregnant daughter. Which, of course I have done several times before. There are no post signs about any booting nor have I seen anyone else Booted. Imagine my surprise when I come out and my car has two boots on it the gentleman was still present. I feel like I was kidnapped and robbed. This should not be legal. Shame on this company for taking advantage of poor people.

will boot your car at 6:00 in the evening don’t know if you’re visiting anyone or not they don’t care!! very unprofessional.. will mess up you car and lie and say it’s not their fault when it is . don’t recommend!!!

Parked in front of Moreau Physical Therapy on a Sunday while eating nextdoor. Walked out to find my car booted. I’d understand this being done during or even close to Moreau business hours. This is nothing more than a money grab.

VERY RUDE & UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! I woke up headed to work at 5 am to see 2 Boots on my vehicle. Although I have a residency parking pass. My rearview mirror does need to get fixed which I can take responsibility for, so the only other option I have is to place the pass from my visor which can still be seen. I’ve just moved in a week and a half ago and haven’t had any issues and my parking pass has been in the same place. Never the Less now they want to charge a $200 fine which is literally ridiculous for a Boot. The lady I spoke with was very snippy and had an attitude and kept forwarding my calls when I tried to call back. The Manager was no different as far as unprofessionalism. The way that they handle customers is highly unacceptable, at the end of the day YOU as a company set the tone for how your interactions will go. If YOU escalate the situation then that’s what you will receive. YOU signed up to be in a profession were you will get people who are upset because of how your company operates and from the looks of it from the reviews I’m not the only one! If you all had a ounce of decent customer service skills then maybe people would be more understanding even if they don’t agree with the situation, but hanging up in someones face and escalating the calls won’t help so hopefully that’s something you all can improve on, but I highly doubt that , so maybe if yall can take the boot from up Yours then it will get better ?

My partner’s car was booted at my apartment, by American Coachworks. The business booted the car even though there was a parking pass hanging from the mirror. The business claimed it was “not visible”, as it was partially covered by a sun blocker in the windshield. It would have been visible if you looked through the side window. My partner paid the $200 fee (ridiculous amount, especially when we were trying to follow the rules) because they had to go to work. I spoke with the employee who came to remove the boot, and they still made my partner pay even though I showed them the parking pass was in the car, and told him it was there for the duration of the visit. It is unfair and unprofessional to charge someone the full price of booting who was following the rules. The person who did the booting made a mistake, and we were still expected to pay. Extremely dishonest and predatory business practices. They are extremely anal about parking passed not being “visible” and have no sympathy for you even when THEIR EMPLOYEE makes a mistake. Edit: in reply since I can’t reply for some reason. Might as well let my car be snooped through than be robbed by a “business” for $200 when I’m following the rules lmao.

We were at my aunt's apartment complex waiting for her to open the gate. When we pulled in we parked and walked in her building. In a matter of 3 minutes, we ended up coming back down to 2 boots on my vehicle along with a client of my aunt. Both vehicles had 2 boots on them when its only supposed to be 1 boot, but her client had to pay $350 for 2, even though it's 100 each. We had to pay $200, not to mention we were the only cars at this building. When we called the company about the boot he was talking about the "contract" he wasn't even listening to my aunt when she talked about her never having this problem. My Aunt has lived at this apartment complex for 3 years and never had this problem. They are supposed to search for vehicles after 7 and they did this at 3:57 PM, this is RIDICULOUS. Yall are just a scam and ripoff, you guys are just trying to get money out of people because you guys aren't making money like your supposed. You guys are very disrespectful and demanding it is SICKENING.

Parked in a lot downtown and paid for 2 hrs to eat at the Vilkage. Was late returning by 20 minutes and in that time they leaped in booted my truck and charged me 250 to remove it. Expensive 20 minutes!!! I understand the need to control the parking lot but in my opinion that’s excessive. I think they are taking advantage of people.

I filed a complaint with the city and launched an investigation against the company for illegal booting when attempt of payment has been received and against the parking lot owner for non compliance and injury liability. (There is numerous liabilities on and around the parking lot). When I park across the Hilton downtown Bâton Rouge and try to pay by scanning a QR code, receive a text but with a broken link for payment, get booted within 15 minute and charged $250, I call for explanation. I am told that if it didn’t work, I should have moved my car. Well, no you are going to see who is going to pay…

Scam! I paid $50 to park for dinner at Tsunami and still got booted! I scanned the QR code, entered my new license plate number, entered state, then was prompted to login. I logged in to pay with credit card on file. Beware, if you login it will automatically use the license plate number last used even though you just entered a different plate number. Showed them my receipts and explained the situation. They expressed zero understanding/sympathy. I've contacted spplus and American Coachworks and neither will answer the phone.

This lot used to have a kiosk to pay, but now you can only pay on your phone. I texted the number on the sign and got no response, so I thought the system must be down. I had already tried parking at a meter and that didn't work either, I didn't know they are separate entities so I thought everything was just down. I was only going to be there a short time and surely they wouldn’t do anything if their system isn’t working right? Well I was wrong! I came back 30 mins later to my car being booted and they said I had to pay $250 to get it removed. The guy said if I had gotten there 2 minutes earlier I could have avoided it, so what’s the difference??? There were probably 50 other spots open, it wasn’t busy, and it’s not like I was parked there all day. $250 for 30 minutes!!! I showed them the text where I tried to pay and it didn’t work and they still refused to work with me. This is a SCAM. I would have been happy to pay the regular parking fee, but charging $250 is insane. They are taking advantage of people and when asked to justify it all they can do is compare it to "stealing from Walmart" which is not at all the same thing. They probably make the system not work intentionally so they can boot more cars and charge people these exorbitant fees. These are not good people, they are not contributing anything good to our city or to society. They should be ashamed of themselves.

They booted my car after the kiosk said we didn’t have to pay!! They then said we had to pay using a QR code, but the sign with a QR code doesn’t specify what it is for nor does the parking kiosk!! It is a rip off I shouldn’t have to pay 200+ to remove a boot from my tire. It only took the man 2 seconds to get the boot off so why am I paying 200?!? This is ridiculous.

I honestly do not know how this company’s owners sleep at night. They are total scammers. $250 when we were told parking downtown was free for the charity run we were attending. Another couple even went to pay with the QR code and it said payment was not required for that time frame. I know this review will not make a difference because this company is heartless but figured I’d share our experience. If you go downtown DO NOT park in the lot by the Hilton or any that have the QR pay codes for parking because they are the same owners.

UPDATE: This is in response to that incredibly condescending and unnecessary response. Which proves you’re wrong. I would NEVER take advantage of people like that!! I even explained to the rep on the phone that I was unaware of this situation and honestly thought the parking downtown was not monitored after 6. Showed zero care or interest. It’s a ghost town anyway and now I know why. I accept I was unknowingly wrong but I have zero sympathy for those who show no sympathy for others and take advantage of regular people who can’t afford these ridiculous and exorbitant fees!!! Absolutely astronomical!!! If it’s that bad and no revenue is made, sell it or repurpose it!! Doing business like this drives business away so get it while you can. Like I said, I could understand $30-$40 with the fee. I literally had to go BEG a friend to loan me $200 for food and gas until I get paid. And now when people across the country are suffering this kinda thing happen??? I will spread the word to everyone I know to tell them all about my deplorable experience and to NEVER park in that parking lot or any lots downtown. Actually, I’ll suggest to never go downtown for any reason! Hope you all are happy and sleep well at night knowing not only are you ripping people off and taking advantage of them but you are ruining downtown’s appeal and future business. Ungodly and unfair practices by you all and the property owner. Shame on you all! I park in a parking lot downtown I've parked in for decades that never use to monitor before after a certain time and come back to find my car booted!!!! Front and back!! The price to remove $222!!!!! For an hour!!! And have no reason to think anything’s changed since I last parked here for free after 6. No different sings posted nothing different. Blames it on the property owner saying three months ago they started monitoring. No clear signs near my car anywhere!!!! Parking lot wide open maybe had 8 cars total and charge that much!!! 300 x the regular rate!!!! This is outrageous!!!! A travesty!!!! And at a time when inflations high and people can barely afford food, gas, electricity!!!! That money was my gas and food money for the next week! I hope you all sleep very well at night knowing you rip people off for a living!! Taking what little money they have. But I’m sure you could care less. I could see $30-$40 parking fee and fine but good god! Can’t believe this is legal!!

An extremely unprofessional business ran by an even more unprofessional owner. You can tell by the way they reply to people’s reviews that this company has no code of ethics or conduct that they live by. But that shouldn’t even be expected. They’re running some type of shady service because they booted my car the first day I moved into my apartment complex. Then TRIED to do it again two more times. The reason? The owner “claims” my parking decal wasn’t visible, even though it was sitting on the dash board as clear as day. Then she proceeded to call me a liar for calling out their shady service. I guess to her, because they took pictures far away from the car that meant the decal wasn’t clearly visible to the human eye. The owner is some rude woman who has poor listening skills and will toss everything you say out the window to try to prove she’s right. I had to call my apartment complex and once they requested the pictures that she took, she sent a document with very tiny pictures as if we couldn’t zoom in and see the decal sitting directly on the dash. Then tried to pretend she couldn’t see it while on the phone with the leasing agent. Mind you, the agent was looking directly at the decal on the picture. So, I guess I wasn’t lying after all! A complete scam artist that will do anything for that little $200. Luckily enough, my complex saw right through her scamming ways and made them come remove the boot off my car each time. Just a shady company that wants to STEAL money from hard working citizens to keep their bills paid.

This company is far more than just a hassle to deal with. There was an asinine event that took place at the Fairway View Apartment Complex, including my sister and an incompetent employee. It runs upon borderline robbery. My sister's vehicle overheated, however, despite her explaining of her current predicament, they proceeded to put two boots on her car. After some talking, they then cussed her out, with the vanacular of what I could compared to a sailor. I do not recommend dealing with this company, within any span of time.

This business is extremely unprofessional, disrespectful, snd i highly give this business 0 star rating. There phone operations lady help desk is very disrespectful and rude. She has no communication skills at all. She should be FIRED!!!! I talked to to her very respectfully. Instead, she cursed me out instead of being compliant. She refuse to give me the supervisor number multiple times. I told her my vehicle shut down due to the vehicle to overheating. There was two boots placed on my vehicle. DO NOT BELIEVE ANY THING THIS COMPANY AND HELP DESK SAYS IN THE REVIEWS BECAUSE THEY ARE LYING!!!!!

Answer to nasty reply: I’ll have to start recording phone calls because when I called for first few days the person answering phone absolutely said she knew nothing about you people. This company illegally boots vehicles on their own property and uses threats to intimidate you to comply with their $200 thefts. They’ll say the property management sent them but the property management company knows nothing about them.

The staff who booted my car was ok, and very nice when it came to instructing me on how to go about getting the boot off, but the supervisor was rude and very unprofessional when the tenant was inquiring about it. I received a boot in an apartment complex that cost me $200. They had just put the boot on when I came outside. I was unaware of the rules and so was the tenant who just newly moved into the apartments. It would have been nice to have gotten a real warning, and not have the first warning be a boot & a $200 fine.

I am not saying anything that’s hasn’t already been said about this miserable establishment. I just moved to Lousiana for school and had received my school parking pass the day prior to my car being booted for not having it displayed. I called to explain to him that in the entire time I have had the pass it has been displayed and I forgot to switch the passes back when I arrived home from. My pass is registered to my car with my apartments and I pay rent and to park their every month. He could careless that I was a resident and that I pay monthly to park their and that I had the pass in my vehicle but took it down to arrive at school. I just wasted $200 to remove a boot for a parking spot I pay for. This was a huge inconvenience and absolutely absurd. Their job is to keep outsiders from parking in the PAYING residents spots not to taking money from the residents. They are money hungry and pathetic.

Just went to Boardwalk Apartments to drop off some things for my newborn grandson. We were there 10 mins. Came down and had a boot on our car. They charged us $200. The man's name was Carl and had his young son out there with him. An underage child out there working with him to boot and tow people's vehicles. He is putting his son in a hostile work environment. They had a truck full of boots and needless to say, there were quite a few people who were not happy about being ripped off. When I explained that I was there for less than 10 minutes, they had no compassion. I can't imagine what this is like for someone who works minimum wage, and would have to hand over their entire check to someone who makes a living doing this. It's sad. And I believe it is ungodly. But the bible says that the love of many will grow cold in the end. I am a mother of 5 girls. My son died last year at 19 and saved 6 people's lives through organ donation. He is a hero. The funeral cost all that we had. I went to work with my husband so we could afford to take care of daughters. We finally got caught up and Covid shut everything down. We just started picking back up with work and went to bless our daughter with some things for our grandson. $200 is a lot of money. Money for my sons headstone that we were planning to have engraved for his one year Anniversary on August 14. Looking at all the other comments it seems like this company has a lot of people who feel they have been taken advantage of. Maybe channel 2 news should do a report.

Our family visited Perkins Rowe one evening to watch a movie. We couldn't park in a parking garage because of the size of our van. Not finding any parking available on the street, we parked in an unmarked parking spot in a lot next to the street. When we returned to the van, we found it booted with an American Coachworks sticker on the window. We also noticed that there were 5 other vehicles booted along the same row of parking spots where our van was parked. It took us a while to find the obscure warning sign posted in front of the covered parking area - not the area where we (or any of the other booted vehicles) parked. Because we drove in from the back of the lot, we did not even see the sign. But it didn't matter to American Coachworks, they were only going to remove the boot if we paid the $208 ransom. They, along with Park Rowe Village, who owns the property, have obviously set this up as a money making shakedown. If they truly wanted to prevent non-permitted vehicles from parking in their lot, they would: 1) have signs posted at both entrances; post much larger and colorful (red) warning signs; and post signs or at least paint the concrete logs at the parking spots next to the road to make it clear to unsuspecting Perkins Rowe patrons that those spaces are unavailable for public parking. Otherwise, they are proving that they intend to swindle Perkins Rowe patrons at $200+ a pop. Additional note: This is the exact quote from the American Coachworks website: "We will supply signs for the entrances and exits of your property. If you are regulating permitted/visitors, ALL SPOTS MU[ST] BE MARKED APPROPRIATELY" (emphasis mine)". Apparently American Coachworks doesn't abide by their own rules.

I was parked at a complex to have makeup done for my daughters Homecoming. The resident never told me that there was any visitor parking so I parked against a curb. Evidently another resident reported me and my car was towed. This happened on a Saturday. We do not live in Baton Rouge so I had To coordinate getting back home. My daughters Homecoming dress was in my car after picking up from alterations that morning. You should consider changing your hours. I would have been happy to pay my fee and get my car on SATURDAY within the hour after this happened. Because you leave town (so the girl answering your calls said) and leave no one in charge, my daughter missed her Homecoming and I get to pay for not one but two nights of charges. Completely mind blown that this is the way you run your business. All I can hope is that you are someway put in a situation and no one shows ANY compassion. If you can tow 24/7 then hire a lot attendant to allow for cars to be picked up!

I am absolutely blown away at how unprofessional this company is. This company needs customer service training. Very unprofessional responses to reviews. This company booted my daughters car because a neighbor called. The driver told me it was a resident that called which ended up being the lady that lives above me. I’m not disputing the fact that she did not have a sticker to park I am disputing the fact that a resident called the tow company. The driver told me it was a resident so I spoke with the owner of the company that evening and she told me the phone number that the call was placed from. The charges will be disputed!

Worst experience ever- if I could give them a zero I would. Agreed my 16 year old daughter made a mistake - she parked in apartment complex for a high school football game and was there all of an hour before she left to find her car was gone!...I called them immediately and they refused to contact the tow driver (even though she said the driver hadn't even called it in yet) or make any accommodations to get the car out until the next day despite explaining we were completely stranded. I had to pay a taxi to the airport to rent a car so I could go pick the car up from them. Come to find out they towed the car over 40 minutes away and wrote w some kind of marker all over windshield. It was parked it in a filthy parking lot - the car was covered with dust. When I went to pick the car up I was told to go through the door somebody will help you - no one was very helpful and despite the sign saying $102 for towing they charged me $180 - when I questioned them about their sign which said the fee was $102 they threatened to call cops on me. When I ran my credit card and voiced my complaint they then refused to give me a receipt and threw me out without getting my car! I am 47 years old and own my own business...I have NEVER been threatened In this manner before - I have never been arrested - I have one speeding ticket 30 years ago otherwise my history is scrupulous! My husband had to basically kiss their ass in order for them to give him the car. They charged two days storage and the car was there 12 hours - Last time I checked a day was 24 hours - 12 hours is not 2 days.. It should be illegal to refuse to give someone their property back and then charge them for storing it!! If they were so quick to call the cops on a person like myself when all I did was complain.. then I can imagine they must deal with irate customers frequently because of their sleazy business practices - Outrageous! If they don't want to deal with those they take from then maybe they shouldn't be in the business of taking people's cars! In response to the owner's response - I was never "hysterical" at all - I never even raised my voice once. My husband (who RARELY agrees with me) thought you were completely out of line and ill-mannered to have treated me the way you did. I wish I had allowed you to call the cops!!! I did say I was going to kill my kids when I called the night of the tow because I wanted to see if you could possibly have any empathy for our predicament - Stranded at 9pm at night on a school night. Your receptionist indicated the truck hadn't gotten far and it obviously would have been very easy to contact the driver to turn around allow me to pay your fee and thus avoid rental, taxi and EXTREME INCONVENIENCE of picking up the car 40 miles away the next day - But you didn't have any!! Instead you hijack my car and refuse to give it back until the next day - & then CHARGE ME for 2 DAYS. Your other details are wrong too - you threw me out because wanted me to stop talking - not because I was hysterical or yelling - I was simply questioning your fees and business practices - sign said $102 - I was told $180 with no explanation - I ran my credit card and ASKED FOR A RECEIPT - YOU started yelling at me "Mam Mam" I said give me my receipt & I will leave! I am allowed free speech in this country - And when I feel I am being treated unfairly (being screwed over is more like it) I am going to question it. In fact it was you who was yelling at me to "get out or I could leave in handcuffs" (maybe you don't like women with an opinion?) - but it doesn't really matter so long as people get what you and your business are about I wonder how much you pay the apartment resident (aka loser) to stand watch at school events for kids that park in the wrong place (despite more empty spots than full) and how quickly you'd show up for a motorist stranded by breakdown vs. a kid parking at a packed school event - obviously if your prey leaves too quickly you will miss out on your $200 tow!
