I found Lafayette Custom Automotive by being turned off by a competitor that made me an appointment, and when I showed up for it, I was told they don't make appointments and people were already ahead of me! I left there, and Shane at Lafayette Custom Automotive happily made me an appointment and is a true professional. He, Jessie, Martin, and the entire staff obviously love what they do and are GOOD at it.
The owner, Martin, used to work at David's CB and Custom Car Stereo, where I always went when I was young, so his background is heavy in car audio and automotive customizations.
I needed a sound system and alarm system installed along with high-level advice, and that's exactly what I got. I purchased a new truck, and they customized an enclosure for subs that was, in a way, an unusual request both in the area it was to occupy and the small footprint needed. They have their own CNC machine and really made it work. I couldn't be happier.
I had preconceptions that were somewhat incorrect about what the best components would be. I had these from my own experience, but I also thankfully realized that I'm no pro. Shane was right. I listened to and took his advice, and it's better than I could have imagined. Go with what you want, but be guided by the staff at Lafayette Custom Automotive.
My truck was so new that head units were not made for it yet so Shane upgraded everything else and without forgetting about me, has kept on the lookout for the perfect solution for me and keeps in contact about it. What more can I ask? He installed a far better alarm system than was offered at the competitor, and now that camera integration for it has arrived, I just had them upgrade that aspect.
I also had them install a Decked toolbox and had them put a contact switch from the alarm system on its lid. This toolbox is the best of its kind, in my opinion. It works flawlessly with its torsion spring lid instead of gas shocks that fail. I must have more weight in it than I should, but it doesn't sag or care. It just works.
When my brother needed car audio help, I naturally sent him to Lafayette Custom Automotive and to Shane. He also couldn't be happier and keeps going back for more.
This outfit is high-level. They keep up with the latest tech and techniques, are serious about what they do, and are customer service focused as well. I therefore could not recommend them more. Lafayette Custom Automotive is my go-to now for everything to do with upgrades to my ride.

I've known Martin Branch the owner since 1987. He has a true passion for what he does, and puts out incredible work. If u need anything customized, LCA is the place to go. I live in TX now, but he still gives me advice and ships me anything I need.
Defiantly not the best but at the same time not the worst . Overprice for quality of service defiantly wouldn’t bring my current truck back or any new truck I get in the future to this place. My sound system sound better than what it was but definitely not were I want it to be for the price paid.The sales guy talk a good game but the service is no where as near. I had an amp to my speakers and a subwoofer to the back. My door speakers are more quiet. The subwoofer rattles often.The knowledge of the technician seem very limited when you mention a issue
They do the best custom work as far as I know, from audio,interior to exterior work. Great staff, real friendly environment and easy to communicate your ideas with.Any idea you come up with ,I believe they can bring it to life,I've went to them on 3 different occasions and they did a great job every time, but latest was they upgraded my 2011 Camaro SS and turned it into 2020 ZL1, they did an amazing job and I will go to them Everytime I have a new idea, BEST Custom place in Louisiana no doubt
I worked with Shane who put in a new Alpine audio system in my Toyota Sequoia. I absolutely love it and he did a great job on the install. Not only does Shane know his stuff, he spent time to explain the new system to me. I will definitely be back for more upgrades from him. Thank you Shane for the significant upgrade.

They have really gone down. No customer service, no knowledge. Tried to buy tires and rims multiple times, never called back. Tried them again for tires. They couldn't figure out what 37 x 12.5 x 20 was. I just hung up.
Shane did call back and apologized. Lafayette Custom has done my Ram and my Charger. I just haven't been able to get my new Charger or my F250 in after multiple attempts. Lafayette Custom has always done me a excellent job. I had to find another company to do my upgrades. I wish I could have got them in, I trusted Shane.
I’ve been upgrading numerous cars audio systems over the years and have had work done by many various shops around Lafayette and thankfully found Lafayette Custom Automotive. Unlike the others, I didn’t get a pressured salesman trying to upsale the priciest stuff they had. What I got is an extremely knowledgeable staff that actually listened to me, knew my budget and put together products that would fit my needs, EVEN IF IT WASNT THE HIGHER PROFIT ITEMS!! Who does that? Lafayette Custom Automotive. The list of positives is long and would exhaust every superlative word I’m aware of, but I can confidently assure you, you will not be disappointed. They’ve earned a loyal customer and I’ll continue doing all my business there for car audio. Thanks y’all. Had to add to this review lol, that the level of quality is so good that I brought all my kids and friends there, they’re that good! Each one of their cars have had zero problems even after a few years. I’m very picky and don’t give praise easily, but LCA has definitely shown they’re the best in the business.
LCA was absolutely amazing! Spoke with Martin about my Bronco and what I was wanting to achieve by phone… plan was made, they prepped everything they could prior to my arrival. Day of installation I was greeted by Martin and Shane, we went over the goal again to make sure nothing was changed. They pulled my car in and went to work. Throughout the install they kept me in the loop of the progress, tweaked and tuned the system to make sure it was again what I wanted.
The knowledge, the skill set, the friendliness is absolutely unmatched and is exactly why I drove 5+hrs from Dallas TX to have them work on my car and is exactly why I’ll do it again.
We cannot say enough about our experience with Lafayette Custom Automotive! We had air bags installed in Texas and unfortunately the installation wasn't done properly. We tow a 5th wheel and needed repairs done ASAP. Jessie, Wendy, Martin and the crew went beyond customer service to get our truck drivable again so we could get back on the road. Highly recommend this shop! We appreciate everything they did for us! It's not often you find great service as we had.
I received a aftermarket backup camera for my truck for Christmas that was purchased elsewhere. Asked them if they could install it since it wasn't purchased there and they said they could no problem. Their work was very neat and professional and they had it done in no time. Will definitely recommend them!!
Warning! Avoid!! Sold me a horrible bed cover. Have had 2 new ones in a 3 month period. Horrible installation, the first 2 times. Tired of bringing it back so they can keep reinstalling.Also purchased high end ceramic window tint, after 3 months peeling already!! If not for bed cover warranty I would never deal with these people again! Good luck on getting a call back from them

Many auto-shops around town had turned down installing a front and rear dashcam, I suppose because it’s such a small job. Lafayette Custom Automotive immediately agreed, easy quote process, quick scheduling, and kept my car for about half a day to get it done.
It was my first time there and I would definitely go back.
Purchased new rims,had truck lowered, rock lights installed they even set my amplifier and stereo. Will be getting remote start installed as well. Great place as for prices you get what you pay for!! I am beyond satisfied Great job guys.
Awesome work on the installation of my aftermarket stereo system!! Very professional and very clean job! Look like it was done from the factory. My system sounds great!! Shane was really good at showing me how to operate my pioneer receiver. He was in no rush and took his time in explaining certain things to me. I definitely would recommend this place to anyone for car stereo installation.

Have had all my tint done here. Great service and price and stand behind their product and services. Recently also had light bar mounted and wired. Very clean mount and wires completely hidden. Received complements on it same day. Very friendly and helpful staff.
