I'm from Dallas Texas and I have to say this place blew my mind. The crawfish pistolette was amazing. I got to my truck ate it and went back inside to buy a second one. Then I saw a older couple order come out and seen two huge shrimp po boys. I had to order one and it had so much shrimp with thick slices of tomatos and tater sauce was tasty. Y'all gotta eat here because Petos has the best food on I-10 in the South not just Louisiana but the South.... Thanks to the ladies at the front and the cooks in the kitchen.
I used to stop here anytime I ran across I10, before the renovation you could always count on getting food here. I guess the renovation was due to new ownership. Definitely explains the drop in food availability. As others expressed, it's hit and miss. They might have food in the hot case, they might not... The food is great when it's actually available, but after stopping a few times and leaving empty handed it's not really worth getting off the interstate for a chance that I might be able to get food to go
Place has nice new lighting but the quality of the food has definitely gone down. Shrimp in my Po Boy still had tails and was tough and over cooked. The bun was grilled but again overdone and burned. This regular stop has probably seen us for the last time.
I was rolling down the I10 and decided to stop to check out the eats, I was dead set on the catfish even though it was a possibility that it might be swy but they assured me it was catfish. And shrimp. But when I got to the front counter the lady convinced me to try the sausage pot boy because they make there own sausage. So I went with that and it was pretty darn good. Possibly the best sausage I've had in a long time. I'll definitely be coming back.

Been passing this place for 10 years and never stopped until today. Decided to stop and give it a try.

Walked up to the counter to place a food order, waited a few minutes and the lady came out and said they were closed.
A truck stop restaurant is closed at 1315hrs on a Sunday?!

My partner and I got dinner here. I got the catfish dinner plate with a boudin ball from the front counter and he got the boudin burger and large funnel fries. We also got the two raspberry cheesecake wraps to go. It took a little bit but it's because they make it all fresh. Definitely worth the wait as the food was amazing! Had to put some away as I couldn't even finish it. My partner couldn't even take a full bite because the burger was so big. They have a market to buy the boudin sausages, along with marinated steaks and pork chops, plus seasonings, ribs, sauces, and pickled eggs, plus more. The restrooms are clean enough. I've seen worse at large chain truck stops and these are clean enough to be used when you need them. Great atmosphere as event seemed happy to be there and were very helpful. Marked it as a stop to come back to in the future. ??
That Cajun burger is the BEST burger I've ever had. Absolutely incredible that y'all are able to eat like this whenever you want meanwhile those of us that live in other parts of the country are eating nonsense.
My daughter stopped here many years ago when she was driving a truck and told me about the Boudin balls. She has talked about them for years and I finally got through here and let me tell you I am not disappointed! I got the spicy Boudin balls and they are absolutely delicious! I meant to take a picture, but I ate them so fast I didn’t!
I assume they using wild pigs for their crackling. All skin and meat. Not a lick of fat. When people buy cracklings, they want them like pawpaw used to make. With a hunk of fat between the skin and meat. When u bite it the fat is still soft and the meat crunchy. Damn pig bellies cost 10 times what it used to and ain't got a gram of fat
Truck stop is very good at plenty of parkand I don't know why when there's 15 parking spots available that truck drivers park on the driveway. Perhaps they just don't know how to backup..
I bought the cracklins and some catfish from the deli. Got back in my semi hungry and anxious to eat some good Cajun food. Unfortunately had to throw all away after trying both. $14+ in the trash because most of the carcinogenic cracklins were burnt and the catfish tasted like sodium and nothing else, so salty couldn't taste the catfish at all ??
Boudin & Cracklins & Link!!!!! Great stuff!! Boudin are rice & meat rolled into a ball with the approximate size of 3inches in diameter.(I’m guessing ?). It’s good!! I think they deep fry them. And they’ve got regular which is great. And the cheese Boudin which has cheese inside & jalapeños! It’s great!!
Totally love the catfish and shrimp meal. Came here several years ago and everything is still great! Easy truck parking makes it a perfect convenient meal break
I knew I wanted to stop for sausage and cracklins while driving through Louisiana. When my drive got me there at 2 AM, I thought I wasn’t going to have the chance. However Peto’s not only had an amazing selection of frozen boudin balls, spicy boudin, marinated ribeye, and even deer sausage, but also had fresh warm cracklins available.
More important than the delicious food, even in the middle of the night, the customer service was wonderful and very friendly, and so helpful in recommending what to try from the frozen selection.
This will definitely be a go-to stop during drives and I can’t wait to try the restaurant the next time I drive through during the day instead of the night.
First time stopping at this place and I don't regret it, stop to get a quick bite and ohh boy the sausage poboy I order to go it was so good I wanted to turn my rig around too bad I was in a hurry
This is the sorriest excuse for a truck stop I have ever seen. The customer service sucks with no greetings thank you or anything. Stopped here for the hog head cheese it raves about. It's so bland and nasty. Care what you get, there are no refunds. Honestly I don't see how this place is still open. Ps. Don't make me laugh at the truckers lounge
I love to stop here when passing through Louisiana..the food is great. The boudin balls,(all of them) , homemade desserts, and especially the crackling( the absolute best ) in my opinion...its soooo good and flavorful most importantly it doesn't break your teeth.
Excellent Catfish Dinner! Huge Salad Included! Very inexpensive! Excellent Service! Great place to stop and do the 10. Loaded up on Sausage and Boudin for the truck refrigerator! I’ll be back for sure!
It's a gas station sooo nothing spectacular about the place BUT they do have awesome boudin balls and sausage! The place make you say nope not going to eat from there BUT they got that part right. The cashiers were cool and overall it was ok to drop in
Some of the gas pumps don't work. No signs posted. Inside looks like a truck stop on it's last legs. And as another customer mentioned, bathrooms are a nasty bio-hazard. :-(
I have been searching for a place to get good, seasoned, tasty, plain old fashioned boudin for over 20 years... THIS IS THE PLACE!
It is everything old fashioned boudin is supposed to be an nothing it is not.
It is the boudin of my childhood when the whole family got together to make it and eat. Everything was seasoned and full of flavor and herbs and spices and nothing was too hot for any 18 month old. And the smoked was perfection!
The place is clean and well stocked and a great place to fuel up the vehicle, the tummy and the soul.
Would have gotten 5 stars, but the bathroom really needed cleaning.
