I went to camp here for a few summers in ealy/mid 80s. Lots of great memories, and I still keep in touch with a couple of people....that's over 40 years of friendship!
This is a summer camp where you can truly feel the presence of God! It is also the perfect place to enjoy nature, build friendships, and grow as a person. I don’t believe there is a single person that wouldn’t benefit from the beauty that is Camp Hardtner! I know it has shaped my life tremendously!
My journey with Camp Hardtner has spanned nearly 30 years. I am deeply connected to the wonder that this place holds for so many. It was my favorite place growing up and where I spent the better part of two decades growing in faith and community. This place and its people have taught me so many important things, and still does to this day. I look forward to bringing my daughter to her first session this Summer!
Camp Hardtner shaped my life as a young person. It shaped the lives of both my children, and countless other youth, and adults in Louisiana and beyond. Now as a priest in the Episcopal Church, it is a place that I return to again to rest, play, worship, and serve others. I love Camp Hardtner! ❤️
Camp Hardtner is such a wonderful place to unplug from the world and renew your spirit in friendship with others, the beauty of God’s creation and having fun. It has fundamentally shaped who I am. I could not be more grateful for my time and the friendships made at Hardtner.
Camp Hardtner hired experienced, loving, fun, creative and responsible young adults to execute their summer camping program. Rest assured that your children will be will cared for and have a wonderful experience.
Super fun summer camp! This was the first summer camp I have been too and it was great. The staff was awesome and super friendly. You can tell their goal is to put a smile on everyone's faces. I am thrilled to go back this summer.
Camp Hardtner is one of the most special places on Earth! I grew up attending as a camper and eventually was a counselor. During those years I made lifelong friendships with people from all over Louisiana. I now have two stepchildren who have attended for the last few years and it seems that nothing has changed because they both love it just as much as I did. I can't recommend it highly enough as a place to send your kids to spend a magical week.
Camp Hardtner has been a family tradition for three generations. It is truly a magical place. Summer camp at Hardtner is my daughter's favorite time of the year and every time she speaks about camp she mentions how much she loves the food, especially the Shepherd's Pie. I fell in love with Hardtner in 1984 and it remains one of my favorite places on earth. Camp Hardtner is a wonderful place for worship and fun in a loving environment.
I think I started going to camp in 2014 I loved it the first time I went and then I went a couple years later back in 2018 I went and where I met my best friend who is now the love of my life it is my home away from home a place where you can just get away from The real world and escape it is the perfect place to find yourself and it is life changing
Camp Hardtner is a bastion of wholesome fun and godly play. I attended as a camper as a child and now I’m happy to be able to send my own children here to bask in the light of God’s love, embodied by the amazing counselors and beautiful campus.
! I’m shocked. Do they even have an interview process for these heathens watching our kids this summer!! I knew I didn’t need to bring my children here again. Don’t bring your kids here if you enjoy them having good influences to watch over them. I don’t know why they are not very smart about their staff choices it’s so sad that I must send my two children somewhere else in fear of them getting hurt or doing something bad while there. Do not come here if you care about your babies well being! When my children told me about the staff picks for concelours I nearly fainted! They do not drug test the staff which I think is highly unprofessional. What if they are sneaking stuff in?? I also have this profile under a different name as my child and if I chose to bring my little girl back they would treat her differently because of this review
My Grandparents Bob and Coley Hansbrough worked and lived at Camp Hardtner for 12 years,the majority of my youth. Camp Hardtner will always hold a special place in my heart!
It is the place to be whether you are the outcast or the popular one. They treat everyone like they are the popular ones and makes everyone feel like they want them there. Counselors were very friendly. Camp Hardtner is definitely my home away from home.
best place on earth! you'll make tons of long lasting friendships and get closer to God. the facilities are good. the activities, staff and overall energy of camp are second to none. God lives at camp. <+3
OMG best camp ever I went for many years when I was a kid, my daughter also got to experience camp hardtner, and now my granddaughter will get to go for the first time this summer. I can't wait for her to go, and I'm looking forward to the road trip it's a 4 hour drive from Marrero la to Pollock la.
Camp Hardtner is a safe and loving place for all ages. From welcoming staff, beautiful environment, and the silly games they will take your youth away from the troubles of the world. They will "un mask" from who they are outside the gates and truly find who they are and will always be loved. It's not just a feeling you save in your heart for a rainy day, it's a community/family of people you've never met and those that came before you that will always support you. Give Camp Hardtner a try and come join our family!
An amazing place! The best summer memories from my childhood are from Hardtner. I encourage anyone with children to let them experience this magical and holy place!
Camp Hardtner summer experiences have formed me in so many ways. I will always be thankful that I had the opportunity to attend this camp for a week out of 9 of my summers. Everyone is truly accepted for the person they are and nothing less. When I'm much older and have children, they will definitely be attending an Episcopal Church camp if not this one! If you have the opportunity to go, GO!
