What clients say about Midwest Metals in Shelbyville (KY)

Had some scrap metal from a lawn swing and table. Once I got to Midwest (Shelbyville), the superfriendly staff guided me through the whole process. A lot of processing facilities similiar to Midwest don't give proper acknowledgement, appreciation, and respect to private citizens as Midwest does. They understand selling metal isn't your daily job therefore they make the process simple and polite! Thanks Midwest for my $15 for my waste lawn furniture!!

Don't do business with these people. The first time I brought them copper and bronze, they paid me about $ 175, and the second time they stole me because I took them about 50 pounds more than the first time and they paid me $ 130. I could see how the man who took the weight signaled to the Lady who paid me believing that I was not seeing it and even one of the employees of the place who was upset by his pay warned me about it. I am not going back to that place!

Received assistance unloading my trailer of scrap metal, which was very much appreciated.

They were nice enough, but I don’t believe I was paid correctly. Cans not weighed on a scale first. I was told that the machine that crushes the cans weighs them too. I have serious doubts about its accuracy.

They're ripping people off with the prices you're better off traveling to Louisville

Do not go here. I had like 5 pounds of no 1 copper and like 15 pounds of no 2 copper and 120 pounds of batteries because I set there and watch the scale and then mark the no 1 copped as 1 pound and no 2 copper for 8 pound. And 104 pounds of batteries.

.20 per pound on high grade copper, think it cost me more in gas to get to this place than what I got for the copper.

I take my cans in every year for the earth week special! I'm not sure what aluminum cans usually go for, but consider the amount of trucks & trailers loaded down in front of me .60 must be good 😊 Every time I take my cans in they are very friendly. Today was no different & given ALL the cans in front of me, the wait was faster then I estimated!

I brought in very good copper wire to recycle and they wanted to low ball me and give me only .40 cents a pound. I left and went to ISA recycle in Louisville. Nick saw me pull and asked if I was recycling the wire I had. I told him I was wanting at least .80 cents a pound. He said he give me .90 cents a pound. I went from Midwest giving me $250 to ISA giving me $760. My friends who been there before told me not to go to Midwest metals but I thought they just had a one bad experience. Nope they were right. I can't believe I am part of Shelbyville community and they would ripped off someone that would come back more and more. ISA recycle Nick got with Jason his buyer and told me to contact him to work out my future drop off and see what else they could do for me. I will discourage everyone I know from doing business with Midwest and I will now be going to ISA only.

I give it 5 stars for being the most crooked place, i watch the lady short me on mt weight, i thought you was doing that all along, pocketing the money her self, no telling how many people she have ripped off, she should be in jail, her time is coming

Took 800 lbs of steel cables over there and only made $12.50. They are serious cons and I will drive all the way to Louisville before I go back over there.

What a ripoff. I took a 240 lbs. load there and only got $10.80. I will be looking for another recycling place

ripoffs , they give you a lame reason why they cant pay full price like everyone else. i know it was my choice to sell or move on but i was already there and they had already taken product by the time i found out the amount they were giving me. will never go back!
