I have a Kentucky Real ID and have effectively used the kiosk several times. It scans your Real ID, Atakes your picture, and prints your pass. Ten (10) times faster than 3 years ago. Very secure, kiosk is in front lobby. *I always get a number too, but if you've already registered before, the kiosk usually always beats the front desk.

Fort Knox: Where Gold Dreams and Lizard Bureaucrats Collide I visited Fort Knox last Tuesday, or maybe it was a dream I had after eating too many pickled marshmallows. Either way, the experience was transcendent. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a sentient vending machine named Carl who only dispenses expired coupons and unsolicited advice about raccoons. Architecture: The building is made entirely of whispers and reinforced nostalgia. The walls hum the national anthem backwards if you press your ear against them and think about cheese. The roof? A giant pancake. Butter optional. Security: Forget guards—Fort Knox is protected by a council of lizard people wearing monocles and debating quantum economics. One of them challenged me to a staring contest. I lost. My soul is now partially owned by the Federal Reserve. Gold? Yes, there’s gold. But it’s invisible unless you’re wearing socks made of regret and humming the theme song from “Gilligan’s Island.” I saw a man try to touch it and he turned into a motivational poster. Gift Shop: They sell time travel permits, holographic beef jerky, and a snow globe that screams when shaken. I bought a hat that whispers compliments in Latin. It’s very supportive. Fort Knox isn’t just a place—it’s a state of mind. A swirling vortex of patriotism, surrealism, and mild confusion. I left with three new personalities and a certificate that says I’m legally allowed to moonwalk in restricted zones. Would I go again? Only on Tuesdays. Or during a full moon. Or if Carl invites me.

I took AIT at Fort Knox back in 1968. I was a Recon Scout and afterwards went to my permanent duty station which was Ft. Riley, Kansas. Those were the good ole days.

There hasn't been gold here for many years. But the place is still historic. Congress figured out how to spend that many years ago without our knowing it.

Fort Knox: A Symbol of Strength and Honor** While I've never had the privilege of visiting Fort Knox, its presence resonates deeply with me. For generations, Fort Knox has stood as a sentinel, safeguarding our nation's gold reserves and serving as a testament to America's enduring strength and resilience. The thought of Fort Knox brings a swell of pride and a profound sense of security. It's more than just a fortified vault; it's a symbol of the values and perseverance that our country holds dear. The gold it protects represents the wealth and prosperity of the United States, but its true value lies in what it stands for—trust, stability, and an unwavering commitment to protecting what matters most. For me, Fort Knox also carries a personal significance. My grandfather, a World War II Marine and pilot, dedicated his life to defending our nation. His bravery and sacrifice are echoes of the very principles that Fort Knox embodies. Knowing that such a stronghold exists to protect our national treasures and train those who serve fills me with immense pride and gratitude. Fort Knox is not just a place; it's a beacon of American resilience and honor. It reminds us that, no matter the challenges we face, the core values that define our country remain steadfast and unbreakable. I may not have walked its halls, but the legacy of Fort Knox is etched into the fabric of our nation's history and into the hearts of those who understand its significance.

If you are stuck in old small barracks roomed with several grown men, then it is slightly miserable. I am sure the surrounding area is lovely.

Unbelievably secure for a vault that isn't used to full capacity for the right items. Rather they have more opiates at fort know than physical joke. So where is the gold. Well read the Road to Roota by the treasury and you'll know our vast reserves are stashed in the Grand Canyon for not the average person to know!!!

Went to Cavalry Scout OSUT in 92-93 with Bravo 5/15 Cavalry then was stationed at the post with the OPFOR unit Delta 2/10 Cavalry in 94-95. The post was a nice place to be stationed, and 27 years after I was last there, it still is a beautiful looking post

Getting on base was super easy if you know someone who is a vet. Base looks just like a small town and everyone there was super kind and respectful including the brave men and women serving there.

Ft Knox Patton museum is excellent! And base is historical "Gold Vault" from back in the olden days, scenes from James Bond Goldfinger when looking at the secure vault building. Easy access at check-in gate, free parking at museum.

The food there was okay but usually it was just stale salteens. The beds were concrete slabs with a blanket on them to keep your skin from freezing to them in the winter since there's no heating. But overall it was a decent experience. All i had to do was go into cell 69 and there was an underground tunnel if you lift up the toilet. But the tunnel is very long with minimal oxygen. Watch out for the spiders in the tunnel by the way if you try to escape.

People started shouting and then shooting and I ran like a girl, lucky I had my Wonder Women arm bracelets so ding , ding , ding goes the bullets and I jumped into the invisible plane, then flew away to safety. Please be careful people.

Management is not very friendly if you show up without a reservation. Place was locked up, so I had to climb a fence to get in. Rooms are a little cramped and not very comfy (5’x10’). Neighbors are a bit noisy and have guns and contacts with the local PD, so don’t even bother giving them a call. Only plus is the large park right next door

I loved my trip to Fort Knox. I got the chance to visit the Patton museum and learned a lot of history I was unaware of. The leadership museum allowed me to focus in my own business and learn from the past experiences of great leaders such as General Patton. The history and grounds were amazing....I really enjoyed the tanks and memorials! The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I look forward to visiting again soon.
