This place is a rip off went there to buy a plug for a headlight. They told me $75 so I went to the GM dealer and bought one from the dealer for $11. I would not recommend this to anyone to ever buy anything from these people they are a scam artist.

very rude and unprofessional. You see the reviews, jay doesn’t care about his customers. The second he hopped on the phone, he started insulting when I was telling him his door had more damage on it than it said. He gave me a $50 refund at the end but not before telling me to go buy Kleenex with it and wipe my tears off. So rude and unprofessional. Whatever, there’s only like a million junkyards around bud!

Called about a bumper cover, I’m an hour away. I have no pictures or idea of its condition. They want a credit card on file before sending someone to the yard to check its condition. I am not giving my CC information out for a part in unknown condition sight unseen. Woman on phone says if they go check they want to know I’m buying it. How do I know I want to buy it unless I know the condition? if it’s trashed I’m not giving you my CC info. If the bumper is in good condition I would have no problem sending my card info for a deposit. Lost a customer instead of taking a few minutes to send someone to check the condition.

Called about a part they said they had and drove 3 hours one way to go pick it up just to get there and to tell me they don’t have any cars like mine and when they go get them in they just throw the parts away. There is no communication between the employees of what they do and don’t have. Do not recommend this place to anyone.

I had a customer call needing a transmission in their car. I Called about a transmission on Tuesday that they had in stock. I called back and paid the deposit Wednesday morning. I was told it would be out Wednesday afternoon/Thursday morning at the latest, even after they told me Tuesday that they could have it out in a day. I rescheduled multiple jobs so that I could have time to go pickup the trans and get back on Thursday, so I could do the customers transmission on Friday. I informed the customer what was going through on and that their car would be started on, on friday. Come Thursday morning, I call, and trans is still not on the ground. I was told by the owner (assuming jay) that it would be out first thing in the morning, Friday. So I reach out to the customer, and reschedule my other jobs AGAIN. Surprise, come Friday morning I still don’t hear from them. I call and was told they don’t know what’s going on with my order, and to call back in 15. When I called back, the lady (Donna?) was very short and had a very rude attitude from the jump. I asked to speak to the owner (assuming jay) who I talked to prior (who told me it’d be done on multiple occasions) and was told I couldn’t. Then I was told they were going to cancel the order and I wouldn’t get my transmission that me and the customer have been waiting all week on. Very poor communication, very poor attitude, and obviously don’t care about their customers or needs. Explains all the one star reviews.

I got a rear differential for my 2003 Chevy S-10 Blazer. It’s been over a year and the car is doing great. Jay sold me exactly what I needed at a reasonable price. What more can you ask for?

Told 2 weeks ago in person he would pick up 2 cars owned by my mom and my sister.(out of state) We needed to have them removed from my aunts property. He felt uneasy about it cause it wasnt my property and i didnt live there anymore, just had moved. But would pick them up..fast forward to this week call him up to verify if he got the cars only to be told he didn't wanna get involved cause we had to much going on cause I wanted to meet and recieve the money as to send half to my sister from her car as she was giving to me for doing the leg work. My mom who lives with me was also present during this conversation. He actually acted as if he didn't know what I was talking about during the phone call. I've gotten parts from here to fix my cars and such and did recommend this buisness to my friends and even to my sister and mother, as of now I won't be... He should have just said he wouldn't remove the cars that day when I stood in front of him. This is not how one does buisness, he did favors for his friends that got him in trouble in the past. (His words) So now good honest people just trying to remove 2 junk cars get the shaft... cause "friends" of his did it to them.

I had a great experience with Jay's Auto Recycling two weeks ago. My first time ordering a major used part, a transmission for my son's Infiniti G37 and Donette provided guidance and assistance every step of the way. She sent me the VIN along with pictures and provided a few options for shipping companies that would pick up from Jay's in Sparta, KY. The transmission arrived in great condition to Charlotte, NC and works great in the G37.

This place is a joke. The customer service is awful. Overcharge like crazy. Says engine is fine meanwhile a tree is growing through it. Wanted a manifold and they wanted us to buy the whole car. Don’t waste your time just go to good ol besslers.

Do NOT BUY FROM JAYS!!! So my rear diff went out gave them a call paid $100 bucks for them to simply hold the part. I told them I don’t have $900 right at the moment to get it but I would in2 weeks well here it is week ONE calling my phone multiple times asked me if I had the money told him my situation told him I’d have it in a week. He then tells me he can’t hold it longer and wouldn’t take $700 plus my $100 deposit totaling $800 “he wanted “$900” but the point is he was rude and wouldn’t even take $100 bucks less then the asking price for a used rear differential! They’re a joke I simply told him I’ll take my business elsewhere they won’t see my buy jack from them their rating should be 1.0 bcuz they suck!!

Discussed purchase of a Mag Wheel for 08 Focus with yardman Lado. I asked how often the deliveries make it up to Lexington. Yardman stated he lives in Lexington and would bring me the part on his way home in the evening. Cool, Right? Wrong, not cool was an upcharge for not providing a core which was not disclosed till after the purchase price was agreed upon. Never heard of a core for a wheel before. Obviously trying to fleece me; but, Ok...... Still cheaper then the local salvage yard by 25 bucks and delivered.....right? Wrong. 5 min before they closed, yard man texted and said there would be an additional 25-dollar charge for the drop off on his way home. I immediately texted him back saying no deal, the local yard is charging 125 for a like new part, and that "they are not authorized to charge credit card as us not having an agreement". Called the owner "Jay" and stated to him that we have not reached an agreement and not to charge card or I would file fraud charges. He stated, " the yardman is not his employee, that he just "helps out" and whatever agreements were made where between the yardman and I, not him", and to "take it up with your credit card company". As with MANY other poor reviews on this business, customer service has become non-existent, and I can't make sense of why a businessman would run a credit card AFTER receiving verbal direction of a no sale condition. Stay clear of this establishment unless you want to add your own contribution to the 1-star club (actually no stars). What really sucks is that Rebuilt a car by purchasing multiple parts from this yard in the past. Hopefully, Jay will re-evaluate his business practices so that his customer base may grow and not continue to decline. I thought that maybe he was just having a bad day. Everyone has a bad day, right? Wrong, the charge is still showing up as pending on my credit account statement; so, I had to file fraud charges against his company and cancel my credit card due to the fraudulent transaction. I am sure I am not the only one that has this terrible experience. JAY, Please bring back the customer service that was once there previously and whatever you going through, I wish you and yours well. Michael E. Rose

I placed an order for a rear end and they said they would call once they got it out of the car. I never received a call and when I called to make sure it was ready for pickup they told me they thought my order was a duplicate and the one they pulled was bent and they couldn't sell it to me. I was never called and informed about this!!

When I called they said they had an engine with 105k miles. Drove three hours to wait an hour for them to bring out an engine in laughable condition. When I searched the vin number I found the engine had double the miles. Do not recommend at all I buy used engines all of the time and never had such a horrible experience.

Extremely rude customer service ordered parts earlier in the week didnt have them pulled or ready so i found em somewhere else cheaper and faster i call to cancel and hes gonna thank me for wasting his time when the job wasnt even started wouldnt recomend to anyone

Looked for a driveshaft for a buddies truck for 4days, got word to go to Jay's and on the 5th day we arrived talked with Jay for about 5 minutes and he told us where to go and take a look. The first on we picked out was the one that we had drove more than 400 miles for and 4 days of many hrs of hard work,and no one had the right one until we went to Jay's, the price was great and my buddy is driving his truck once again with no issues. Thanks JAY I'm sure you're going to see us again. Peace Out ✌ ☮

Was quoted a price then went to get my part price went up another $150 because they rather sale me the rear end instead of the piece I was priced have never had a problem buying parts from these guys until now. Like Jay said if I don't want it he will just take someone else's money for it don't hurt him any.

On 5/20/2020 I purchased a engine for $750 not including the delivery charge of $25 that took them a week to pull the engine no big deal. However once my purchase was delivered 5/28/2020 to the auto body shop I was contacted and told how poorly the engine was delivered. The parts department stated it was deliver in a truck bed not tied down and without a wooden pallet underneath the engine to properly support and ensure no extra damage is done. My mechanic says for it to have taken them a week to pull you can tell it was removed rush like.The outcome is bents pulleys; crack valve and more. Although it’s a recycling part, for the price I intend to receive top notch customer care. Especially since you can only exchange within 30 days; NO REFUNDS. I called to inquire about their delivery method and how it was transported and was immediately verbally attacked. Quote “ Well ma’am it wasn’t delivered on my rocket ? ship how do you think it was delivered?” I asked why was his tone so rude and why was it such a huge issue with me wanting to know?....overall I just paid $750 the least I could get is some respectable customer service. I explained that I did just patronize your business and didn’t agree on how he was trying to handle me. He stated “ Well your card declined first of all you’re lucky it was delivered.” ? I cant make this up ??♀️ Granted my card did declined but a little transfer of funds and voilà transaction successful same day...how else would it have been delivered?! Regardless of that minor card issue it did not equate to the disrespect and my concerns still not being addressed. I was hung up on. I will be headed over to BBB from here. I believe I was handle in poor taste and definitely insulted.

Great place to get used auto parts! Call ahead and they will pull the part for you! Jay is such a nice guy to work with! He also has lots of cars ready to drive to buy. Or if you are looking for something to fix up yourself, he has them too! Huge selection!

A great place to get late model parts and soil due to the rainy season ..lol.....Jay is super easy to deal with and they are currently updating the place to better serve their customers. Will be very nice once the new buildings and parking lot gets finished! A must place to call for parts!

We bought transmission from them they gave us 30 days warrnty on it . We put it on but the transmission not good . The owner said take to the dealership bc I know my transmission good we took and we have the paperwork from the dealership is showing, the transmission is not good . He said you need to wait until I get one I told him give me the money back he Refused we wait 40 days and we called him 30 times to see if he got one finally he gave us different transmission doesn’t even fit in the car I called him again and he said sorry I can’t help . It was first and last time to deal with them . There is Lkq and Bessler they give good warranty and if something wrong they deal with it .

Jay is a good dude. We have used his recycled engines many times, and he has always treated us right. One time, we got one that was bad, and he gave us another as soon as he could find one. I think he actually lost money on that deal, because he had to buy it from somewhere else. He has personally delivered to our shop in Florence plenty of engines.

I called about part. They told me they had it. I asked them to pull it for me (call was around noon). I call again around 4 to confirm. They told me they’d have it ready when I got there. One hour later I show up. I had to wait 30 minutes. Good quality part. Can’t complain too much.

Please never come here. My boyfriend drove all the way from Dayton, OH and got lost while coming here. He called the staff and told them that we would arrive a little after 6 and over the phone they said that it would be fine. He later arrived and told them that he spoke with someone over the phone and they said his later arrival was fine but refused to help! What happen to our kind hearted people in the world?! The least they could do was tell him early on that they would refused him and saved us both gas and time. We will NEVER come here again & I home they would soon be more kind hearted business owners!

This has been about a few months ago but my bf busted our gas tank on our van and I called him and asked him if they one. The guy was very polite and said yes they do I asked him how much he wanted he charged me half of what I was gonna pay at Besslers and his was in better shape. So I'd def go there again matter of fact I'll be going there this week for a radiator. Its an awesome place
