This is the very first review I have ever left for anything in the last 40 years of my life, but felt it to be necessary. Had a slow leak on rear tire on wife’s suv, stopped by, they was not busy. Got us right in and we were the only customers there. 4 guys in the shop working. After an hour and 6 minutes of waiting and being told 3 times they were putting the tire back on, I asked if they were having trouble as it had been so long. The lady at the front desk let me go in the shop to visually see what was going on. A younger man was putting the wheel back on and cross threaded a lug nut which broke the stud and without anyone saying anything, I found this out by walking back there. If you know anything about that, you know the brake caliper and rotor all have to come off of the wheel to replace the stud. I told them to leave it and I would come back at a later date as I am already late to where I was going. Out of the 4 men working in the shop, not a single one bothered to tell the guy putting the wheel on that you don’t tighten lug nuts in clockwise fashion first, you jump across from the first one and zig zag back and forth, this guy had no clue what he was doing. Using a Walmart hyper tough brand impact to put the lug nuts back on. I had enough at that point and literally told him to let me do it. He handed me the impact and I (the customer) literally finished putting the lug nuts back on and showed him the common knowledge sequence of doing so. All while the other 3 guys stood there and watched me. I don’t own a tire shop, I’m not a know it all, but I do have common sense and common knowledge of how to tighten a wheel back on a car. This place is an absolute joke. I have no idea how in the world they have any business at all. Incompetent, slow, unintelligent and just absolutely embarrassing for an automotive shop of this size and with this many employees for not a single one to step up to the plate and do what I paid them to do. I would literally drive 3 hours one way to avoid this place, and still get it done faster. Don’t waste your time unless you have endless time and patience. Extremely disappointing

In a bad spot and had tires put on which was great. But I told them i had a flat tire in the trunk, and a spare tire on the car. (They are painted completely different). They disregarded that and just mounted the tires leaving me with no spare, unmatched rims and a flat tire in my trunk that was never touched. Simple problems paying attention can fix. A little care goes a long way. First and last time there.

I drop my boat off stating the timing was off, has some carburetor issues (dieseling), and maybe they could check the starter since I had to replace it and put in heli coils for the stripped bolt holes. Mechanic calls and says everything looks ok but they need to take it to the lake for 8 hours to set the timing and the bill will be $1900 and some change…the problem is he could have told me that up front that was the plan. I called the boat manufacturer they said it does not have to be in water to set timing. They also advised I go to a reputable boat dealer as it shouldn’t cost more than a few hundred bucks and a few labor hour to do the timing. Red flag. I tell them I will come pick up my boat. Drive an hour one way to pick it up at 4:30 the place closes at 5. Gates locked at 4:30 no one’s there. The hateful front desk lady says sorry we changed our hours and didn’t tell anyone. Ignorance is bliss in this place. The diagnosis on my bill was surprise surprise, timing is off and carburetor needs work. So after 4 hours of driving, $100 in fuel to drive there twice because they “forgot” to mention the hours aren’t the same, and $127.00 bill from them, I now know exactly the same thing as when I took it in. I understand making a profit but blatantly lying to customers is flat out unethical. It’s safe to say I will never be back. The owner didn’t even have the backbone to reach out to me and say you’re right we messed up let’s make it right. Judging by the way they conduct business this review won’t be up terribly long as the place will close soon.

To say it quick and to the point ! Vail's Is a stand alone automotive shop and sales. I won't even entertain a offer of going elsewhere !

Took my vehicle in for a repair. Was told up front that they were busy and would be a while before they could get to mine. It was about 3-4 weeks later was told it was done. Paid in full and went on my way. No problem with the wait. However, the issue wasn't fixed. Called back and was told to give it a week. Gave it 2 weeks, still had same problem. Was told by the nice and polite lady at the front desk to drop it off again. Was told again that they are backed up and expect a while to hear anything. I called 3 weeks later, was told Matt would give me a call. Waited another week, no call. Like many people, need my vehicle for work. Wife stopped by just to get an update. She asked for Matt and told him who she was and asked if he had a quote. He told her that he had made a call and hadn't heard back and then with an attitude told her "so no, i don't have a quote. I don't know when I'll have one." She asked if it was driveable and if so we could take it to use for work until they were ready to work on it? He had to ask another worker if everything was put back together and was told yes. Matt then told my wife that they were actually closed right now with summer hours and that they would have to park it outside of the gate with the key in it and that hopefully no one takes it. Wasn't too pleased with what happened when my wife went in. Picked up my vehicle minutes later and told them I wouldn't be returning. I understand being busy. But when we're told we will hear back soon and never do, then get attitude just for asking for an update, it's not professional.

Have taken four vehicle to Vail's more than once. Every time they are very thorough and do not price gouge. The best way to describe Vail's is friendly and honest. I won't go anywhere else.

I drop my car off and tell the receptionist exactly what is wrong with it. She was rude, didn't write anything down I was telling her, and just nodded like, yes I know your talking, but no I'm not listening. A couple days later our oil problem is 3 times worse than it was. Never again.
