What a wonderful gem of a place out here in kansas. I have been to a lot of much bigger salvage yards in bigger cities and you don't get the kind of treatment as provided here.
Right away I was greeted by Ethan who took me out to where a certain car was that I had trouble locating. He then offered some suggestions of parts I should consider grabbing.
The whole team there has been friendly and helpful. The prices are very fair and reasonable.
They have a really good supply of cars and trucks out in the yards to be picked from. I managed to find myself a roof rack for my suv so now I can take my daughter kayaking!
I don't give five stars out very often because I put a lot of value on it. They earned it for sure!

I went in for a drive line bolt today and there were plenty of options for me. Jake at the front desk was very helpful and knowledgeable. He printed out papers with all my options and pointed me in the right direction of the easiest route first and that's right where it was. I've been here in the past and will continue to come back.
The staff was very friendly and I was able to take all the interior trim and headliner out of an old jeep for pretty cheap. Big selection of vehicles here in various conditions.

awful and lazy business, as a constant parts buyer its astonishing the amount of effort this yard in specific goes to to cause inconveniences , took my order and after 2 days of no contact on shipment they refuse to complete the order
My husband went there looking for a part for our 2009 Chrysler Sebring - The driver side back brake light was broken, but it wasn’t the bulb or fuse because we tried to replace that already and it was another part inside the lamp. We’ve been on the hunt for about two weeks now and apparently the parts discontinued and there’s only 3 to 5 places in the United States that carries it and we needed the part ASAP we live in Manhattan, but my husband decided to drive to Junction city today just to check the salvage yard to see if he could find the piece My husband called me 30 minutes later and told me the blinker is working again And he was so happy with the customer service and cleanliness of the Establishment anytime we need anything for our vehicles we will Drive over there first! Definitely 5 stars!
Today I needed some bolts to hold my front drive shaft to the yolk coming out of my front axle. I went to Hess and sons salvage their workers were busy so they let me pull the bolts myself. He showed me a satellite image of where to go in the yard to find the bolts. They had what I needed and were drastically cheaper than a factory order. I am very pleased thank you Hess and sons.
First time using Hess, just moved down to the area about 6 months ago, counter person knew what they had on hand and directed me to the vehicle location pretty well. The policy that you have to call the office and ask permission to pull an item if you incidentally run across something that you could use instead of just pulling it and bringing it up to the office is annoying and very inconvenient, and I could see how it would possibly increase theft instead of keep theft down, though I’m sure it helps with inventory tracking (if things don’t grow legs due to laziness). Overall not a bad yard and had an average selection of wrecks available.
Needed a bolt for my caliper and it was on back order. They had a durango and let me go out grab it and have the bolt for free. Honestly saved me 50$ thankx a lot really cool he was super busy but still was helpful and nice.

When I got down there Jake greeted me and asked Ethan to go check for a battery. Ethan came back battery in hand, we paid and gone in about 10min or less. These guys were all amazing and I’m glad they had what I needed!!
I've previously never been to a salvage yard to pick parts off cars. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I was in and out, faster and cheaper than stopping at a parts store. Highly recommend checking their inventory for your part needs!

These guys are great. Their prices are reasonable, and the assistance and support they give when you pull your own parts is perfect. I went to their yard november 22 2024 for some 4th gen camaro parts, and i am complety satisfied with the parts, the service, and the prices.
I shopped here locally in Manhattan at a couple auto parts stores and found what I needed, but Hess and Sons Salvage Had me jumping for joy when I found out I was saving over 70% Of retail. There wasn’t one part of this experience That wasn’t exceptional. I’ll hand it to them. They are worth every minute I spent with them and the their customer service has a care about the customer attitude! Their website was easy to manage. Their prices were easy and clear to read. I had a headlight on the passenger side that needed the assembly not only did they have it at pennies on the dollar for me they delivered it to me in Manhattan. not only have they helped me they have earned a customer for life. If I’m still looking for parts I won’t go to the retail stores around Manhattan. Hess and Sons salvage will be my number one choice and then if they don’t have it, I’ll wait for it! I found Hess and sons salvage online while looking for some obscure parts .
On my first call, they answered all my questions. I had some request that they said they would need to get back to me with. They returned my call the same day with all my questions answered. This was surprising to me because what I wanted to buy was not very expensive.
So , I inquired about some additional parts.
They even voluntarily sent photos of one item to make sure I was ok with it before they shipped it 1/2 way across the country to me..
I was going to request my order be shipped in two boxes to avoid damage.
But that was not necessary as they already knew that needed to be done.
I thought that the shipping cost was fair, although a little high.
When I received both boxes on the same delivery, I was no longer questioning the cost of the shipping...
Every item was individually wrapped beyond belief. I was extremely grateful for that as the parts are old, hard to find, and somewhat fragile.
Best of all, Everything was in good shape and completely functional.
