Left a review 7 years ago regarding a transmission i purchased from them that was suppose to be a solid good used unit they tested and drove themselves..
Long story short it was junk and 7 years later they still have not done the correct thing.. but the great news my rebuild had been fantastic (not done by them)

Kerman Johnson, one of the owners of the shop, helped save the day on our motorcycle trip. He helped us with our broken down trailer, even when he was off the clock and we were broke down away from his shop. I would recommend everyone to work with him. Super personal and was willing to help in any way possible.
Very rude people unwilling to help, I asked simple questions trying to narrow down a search and got nothing but condescending answers. Would not recommend to anyone.
Called to get pricing, was asked to call back in a bit. Called back and told to go to you pick it. When I asked about the price so I could make sure it was in our budge was told to stop wasting his time and he hung up on me.
This is a quaint, yet top notch salvage yard. I found what I needed at a fair price and in great condition. Will drive the 550 miles to get the rest of my rebuild needs ...
The guys who runs the place is real down to earth and willing to help those who are in a bind and his mechanic is not just a parts puller he knows what hes talking about
Can not stress this enough best place around Kansas City to get truck and jeep parts staff if very knowledgeable and friendly and will work with u on what u need to get ur project up and running
I wouldn’t waste your time with this place. Their parts choices look like it hasnt been updated since the 80s. As soon as the owner can’t find a part he’s ready to execute you because he doesn’t have anytime for you anymore. This place could make a hilarious reality TV show
Every motor and transmission has been perfect and years later are still working. I go here 1st and then late model if they don't have the part. In fact im going here today when they open. I'm sure we know the bad reviews are people who aren't in the car world. I have had nothing but great parts and service. They even helped me figure out what I had a issue with when I couldn't figure it out. The old school no bs onwer is my favorite used part guy between him and his guy in back im happy to support their small business.
Southside truck is the most unprofessional businesses I have ever dealt with. Not to mention they are RACIST. They are overpriced and I will never do business with them again. Matter of fact, I will make sure I tell all my friends and family not to do business with you a**hats.
Bought an Allison Trans from them
They assured me it was good and they personally drove the truck well I installed it and have had nothing but problems
Giving them the benefit of doubt since I did just purchase the truck I hauled it to the dealer had wiring and everything checked and the Trans is junk informed them since it suppose to have a 30 day warranty and they keep giving me the run around so what good is a warranty if they won't honor it.... If they do stand behind their parts I will update my post with more info but I truly don't see it happing..... SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME AND AVOID THIS PLACE... Update now my warranty has run out on paper and still no transmission so I guess ill just eat the Trans and pay for a rebuild now
Great business and great people. If they don't have what your looking for, you probably won't find it anywhere else. They are much more than a normal salvage yard. Don't waste your time going anywhere else, start here and make it your first and last stop!
