Super friendly and helpful staff! I got a blowout on my way to work and they were super accommodating. They made sure I was warm and had a way to get home, and worked with my schedule so I could come back and collect my belongings from the car.

When my sons car stalled 6 hours away from home I wasn't sure how things would go. I made the call to A-1 towing late into the night and was greeted with a friendly answer and reassurance that everything would be handled as if I was doing it myself. They treated everyone with respect and even went more than the extra mile. When A-1 found out that my son couldn't get to the rental place the owner picked not only him up but his girlfriend and dog. He loaded up everything they had and drove them 35 minutes to the next town for the rental. They even stored the car in a secure lot until I was able to come retrieve it to bring home and get fixed. Hands down the kind of company you want on the other end of the line. Can't thank them enough. P.s. they would only take the money for the tow. All the other things they did they wouldn't take a dime for.
Owner and staff were extremely friendly and were willing to help out in any needs we need. They went above and beyond with my car as it sits low to the ground. I would 100% recommend them
This has been by far the best experience during our worst nightmare. Robert with A-1 reassured me that my daughter's car was safe and he truly helped us with the best option for getting her car where it needed to be. I'm forever grateful.
On Thursday September 18 our Turo rental's transmission failed while traveling through Nevada. MO at 10:30pm! We pulled into a McDonald's parking lot to reassess but then it quit and wouldn't start. We were 1 hour from our AirBnB in Carl Junction to attend family wedding Saturday. A-1 Towing has contract with Turo and was called. Nathan responded quickly within half hour and we told him there was difficulty in getting a rideshare to respond. Nathan arrived and waited it out till Turo declared 2 hours later they couldn't help us. Nathan called his Dad, Bob, the owner of A-1 who proposed that we catch a ride in the tow truck and then Nathan would take us to our destination!
We unloaded the vehicle in tow yard, retrieved our belongings and the wedding gift into Nathan's own pickup truck and we proceeded through the dark night. He knew the doctor in our family who treated his knee. His wife had been Nathan's teacher when he was quite young. In addition his Dad had been a nurse when the tornado hit Joplin so knew Dr. King as well. In addition Nathan was a nurse on weekends but had gotten off this weekend for something he needed to attend at 8:00 am and a relative's funeral after that.
I know he got no sleep at all after dropping us off at our destination at 3:15 am! Our greatest thanks. $200 was very reasonable.
Great family and business. Hometown "help your neighbor and stranded travelers" attitude and it was something that has happened many times.

I drive a motor Coach for a living and I was in town from another city with a group here for a sporting event and my motor coach wouldn’t start. A1 was able to get to me quickly and get me back on the road quickly and safely. I highly recommend this company for your towing needs

I really got myself into a mess! Got my trailer stuck in the mud trying to turn it around. I was about to head to Oklahoma to race my car and was looking at missing the trip. I called Robert at A1 and Ryan came out and quickly got my trailer out and back on the road! Ryan even smoothed over my ruts so that the mower wouldn't curse my name his next time through. Thank you so much for saving my weekend!
This company is the absolute best! The tow truck driver was very nice and accommodating.
The vehicle is more than likely totaled and is currently at A1’s lot in Ft Scott KS. I spoke with Robert, the owner regarding lot fees and being able to get personal belongs out of the vehicle.
Being from out of town made it more difficult to return during the week. He was so kind and compassionate knowing this is a stressful situation.
Robert said to call him anytime and he would meet at the lot. I can’t thank this man enough for the phenomenal customer service and for truly caring.
A1 towing and recovery is absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend them my husband who is very sick., Kevin assisted in getting him into the truck and making sure he’s OK. Kevin is excellent at his job. The best tow operator that I have ever experienced . If you’re ever looking for a tow, please call them. I highly highly recommend them very family oriented very caring. They know what they’re doing.
These guys are absolutely outstanding. We had an employee hit an animal carcass at about 8PM and tore the fuel tank and some other stuff up which left the vehicle stranded in the road (on a road trip from TX - MN during freezing weather/snow/ice). Our insurance roadside assistance was going to take 2 hours. Highway patrol said that was unacceptable and if we didn't get someone to get there sooner they would dispatch a wrecker. I googled to try to find a wrecker with a shop affiliated and found A-1. Thank the lord I did! They answered my call, had help on the way and arrived in less than 30 minutes. Their tow driver was a mechanic and took the vehicle to the shop to take a cursory look, advised us parts had to be ordered, no simple fix available. I let Robert know these guys were workers and needed to be in MN for a job the next morning. He found someone ASAP with an SUV to take our guys and equipment to Joplin to drop them off to get a rental car. They were back on the road and made it to their destination thanks to A-1. They fixed the vehicle and arranged for our guys to pick it up when they were passing through after their job was done. These folks went above and beyond to make sure my guys were safe and taken care of. Treated us like family. Fees charged were more than fair. There are still good people in the world!! Thanks again, so much! You guys are amazing!
Car broke down on the side of the road north of Ft. Scott. Kevin from A-1 towing showed up quickly and towed our vehicle to a shop and then gave us a ride to a hotel. Super great service!!! Highly recommend! Rob Sanchez Springdale, Ar.
A-1 got me taken care of quickly and conveniently when we had a break down in the area. Their pricing was very fair and he even stored my vehicle indoor for the weekend as we couldn’t make it back to pick up for a couple days. Highly recommend if you need tow service in the Pitt area. Great people to work with and really saved me when we had trouble

A-1 towing is top notch. I was 400 miles from home loading down with gear when my diesel tank gelled and stranded me on the highway. Ryan went above and beyond and got me back on the road. He was extremely friendly, honest and just all around great guy!
Alternator died on the highway, Robert showed up quick to give me a jump and get me off the highway. Even recommended local places that were dog friendly where I could walk and get some food while I waited for a friend to pick me up. Just super friendly and helpful in general, highly recommend!
On Monday my vehicle was having issues in Pittsburg, I called my insurance and they assisted me with having A-1 Towing in Fort Scott come pick up my vehicle in Pittsburg and take it Fort Scott to be worked on. The gentleman that came was so nice and helpful. He treated my vehicle like it was his own in getting it up on the ramp. Thank you A-1 Towing you did a wonderful job!!
I had broken my keyfob and thought I was going to have to have my car towed. The 1st thing the tow guy did was make sure I needed to be towed. He spent a good 30 minutes trying to get it started with half the key. I must say I was very impressed. He wasn't going to give up after the 1st couple of tries. So instead of having to be towed He got my car started and followed me home to make sure I made it. Then he made sure the way he did it theb1st time worked again. So even though I need a new key fob. I can still drive it if I really need to. Will recommend them. Awesome people.
Had a very unique issue and was denied help from emergency professionals. Towing a bicycle is not tough but they helped me tremendously and with the kindest service. Had I not been immediately responded to and helped, I’d still be walking down a dark highway for hours. Beyond thankful, and the goodness in their heart restored some of my lost faith in humanity. Robert was the tow driver who assisted me and he went above and beyond. It was after 6p on a Saturday evening when my tire blew. He made some calls and was able to tow me to a tire shop that opened up to get me a tire and back on the road. I have never experienced such quick service and so much kindness.
I had a flat tire while traveling through Fort Scott, Kansas one evening on my way home to Olathe. I want all to know that I had the privilege of receiving excellent service from "Ray," of A-1 Towing & Recovery. Ray went above & beyond the call of duty in order to get me a tire that night, to replace my destroyed tire. He is an extremely respectful & patient young man. We had some vehicle trouble in Fort Scott on a Saturday and we called Robert to see about towing our vehicle back home to McPherson, KS. When Robert found out what was wrong with the vehicle he went out of his way to find the parts that were needed and had his brother come in on a Saturday to fix the issue. They went above and beyond to help us and were so kind and accommodating. We were back on the road and home by Saturday evening. What started out as a stressful experience turned into a positive outcome. We highly recommend them!
Very friendly, if you need a tow definitely go with A1 towing! I got stranded with my two little ones and he didn’t care! He came and got my car put it on the trailer while I put the kids in his car. My daughter had been annoyed from being in the car for so long she was kind of throwing a bit of a fit. He didn’t get mad, he asked if we needed to stop anywhere to get anything to eat or drink. He kept up a conversation, instead of having that awkward silence. Just very reliable, very friendly, and all around a great service!! I definitely recommend going through them!
Both Robert and John were amazing with our entire 2-week ongoing saga attempting to revive our daughter's '07 Chrysler 300. She lives in the Fort Scott, KS area. We live in the KC area. We initially called them for merely a tow from her house up to our mechanic in KC because she was unfamiliar with a reputable auto repair company in the Fort Scott area. She knew & trusted our mechanic here in KC that has worked on all of our family vehicles for over 30 years, and wanted them to diagnose the problem. Once they diagnosed that the timing belt slipped and trashed the motor, that also affected several electrical systems, she decided that her car was gone. She decided to just sell it for what she could get. At this point Robert offered that he may be interested in purchasing it to fix it and sell it. Once we were aware that he and his brother John also do mechanical auto repairs, we discussed the possibility of what might be done. We ended up negotiating a very fair deal with them to replace the motor for her. After replacing the motor, they discovered the electrical issues and even offered to fix these issues at a very fair price. Robert kept us informed continually along the way. They are very fair, honest, knowledgeable and definitely "go the extra mile" for the customer. I could go on with many more accolades on how great we feel these brothers do business. I called 7 hours away because we had our company truck break down in the area. Robert gave us a great price, dropped our driver off at the motel, and helped us load the truck in the morning on our trailer. I would recommend him to anyone as he went out of the way to help us!
