We made a appt for tuesday Cindy called us same day with a quote .The truck was done wednesday The auto Techs did a great job and got are Truck running again and back on the road. We will always come here for any service we need for our car or Truck. we are very happy customers.
Normally I HATE taking my car to the shop without bringing a male with me because I do not know much about cars and I know I can be easily taken advantage of, but I do NOT feel this way when I take my car to Le Claire Auto Service. David always explains everything to me in terms that I can actually understand and shows me picture proof. Le Claire Auto Service provides fantastic customer service with quick communication and always finds a solution to my car troubles. I would not recommend any other auto shop!

My husband and I had our car towed here after closing because it was having trouble, and it was the closest shop. We tried to call the shop when it opened, but no one answered until a half hour after their opening time. We were told it would be some time until they could look at it because they had some cars ahead of us, which we understand. Unfortunately, we were moving across several states, and the seven hour wait for our car took our trip an extra day. On top of it all, when we finally left with our car, the check engine light was still on because they hadn't cleared it. Also, during the repair, they left too much power in the idle, and our car has been driving strange. It looks like they did not perform a test drive after replacing a very important part of our car. We are disappointed in this shop.
While visiting from out of state our vehicle ran into problems and we had to have it towed. Leclaire Auto was referred by friends so thought we would try them first. The owner Josh took our Suburban in right away and fixed it promptly. He is very honest and reasonable. We highly recommended Leclaire Auto! Thanks Josh for all your help.
I had a flat tire while traveling, and Josh and his team were lifesavers! They were able to take a look at my tire more quickly than they estimated, and when they found that there was an irreparable leak in the side wall, they were able to get me a new tire of the same size. They were very reasonably priced and wonderful to work with!
Replaced my Lexus RX 330 alternator and they charged me 766 dollar and it was more than 5 time to actual estimate from My local car Mecanic .And workers are very rude asking me take my car back to some where else when I asked why this much charges and give some discount and my car got broke and it got towed by them and it was in their shop and I was travelling back to Des Moines Iowa from Chicago and my car got broke and they know I can’t towed again to some other shop with broken car . They took the advantage of my situation . I don’t recommend any one here .please take estimate before you take any service . At the end they gave me 10% discount that’s why I am giving 1 star.
Called to get my daughter’s tire repaired the day she had to leave for school.They were able to fit her car in right away and repaired it very quickly. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating!
We were driving from Fort Wayne, Indiana to Nebraska and a nail got stuck in the tire. They were extremely friendly and helpful! I highly recommend this place!
I had a bad tire in LeClaire and ended up having to park my truck at this little shop now I didn't get any work done there but it was after hours the guy was still in the shop he loaned me tools and let me finish working on my truck late into the night he let me use anything I needed to use to get it done and I appreciated that

They were awesome!! We are from out of state, and our car broke down and they took us in 5 minutes before closing, offered a car to borrow while ours was being fixed! (We ended up not needed that) but they got us in and fixed right in time!! Id reccomend them to anyone at any time!! Thank you so much for making our crazy trip better!!

We own five vehicles....and routinely have them in to get an oil change or some sort of repair. This shop is awesome! So knowledgeable and so helpful.... They have always been ‘spot on’ with whatever is going on with the vehicles..... and repair it very quickly and also have great customer service. The prices are very reasonable.... i’ve never felt like they were trying to take advantage of me . I highly recommend this shop to anyone and everyone!!
Our car club recently passed through Le Claire on a driving tour. One of our members got a flat tire around 2:00 pm. We limped the car into Le Claire Auto Service. Although they were closed for the day, several employees and the owner were on site. They very willingly repaired the tire so that our tour could continue. They went out of their way for us and saved the day! Glad there are still auto repair shops who care about their customers.
Honest. Completely honest at all times. They do extraordinary work at a reasonable cost. In my 54 years on this earth I have never before had a mechanic that I can trust like I trust the people at LeClaire Auto. Awesome cat too.

Called for a service call during the bad weather (last Friday).. hours went by and when we called to follow up- very politely asking for a time frame they forgot to put the phone on mute and heard yelling in the background saying ‘I’m not f$@&ing doing it’ and then the phone hung up. We called back (at this point already late for work) and they then proceeded to say they were too ‘booked’. I gladly would have tried somewhere if I would have known this was the case- I completely understand being busy during bad weather- mostly just disappointed with the terrible customer service and lack of attention to my vehicle. Waste of time. Also I feel I need to note the receptionist who answered the phone tried her best to be accommodating- it was mostly the aggressive mechanic obnoxiously yelling in the background.
"Awesome ! We arrived in LeClaire for the Twilight boat trip on 6/27/18 with severe brake problems on our 2011 Subaru. Josh and his crew, with their no problem attitude, had us back on the road in about 1 1/2 hours and we were able to enjoy all the sites in LeClaire that afternoon plus make the boat trip the next morning with no worry about car problems. This place is great !!"
I was heading west from Cleveland to Los Angeles when I stopped in to visit Antique Archaeology from the hit show American Pickers. I ran into a little car trouble afterward, so I stopped in at LeClaire Auto Service just up the street. Owners Josh and Wendy Neilson could not have been friendlier. Their service was fast, fair, and they never took advantage of someone so far from home. Continued success!
Took my jeep to get fixed a while back. Paid almost 3 grand and engine blew out when I started using it again. Wanted to charge me another 3 grand to fix engine again because it was not the 'part' of the engine they fixed. I was told I 'ran' my car without engine oil when I paid for oil change as well, and think if they fix part of the engine, it would be good to make sure everything is working as it should (engine oil is flowing as it should in this case). This is just my experience. Very pleasant people though. Wasn't willing to pay another 3 grand in less than 6 weeks time. Lost my jeep due to this mishap.
The man who ran the shop was very nice. It was kept very clean and it had a very nice waiting area. They had quick and timely service at an affordable cost.
I have had my car repaired there a few times. Hands down the most honest mechanic"s anywhere. I know of at least 3 times they could have said I needed something repaired when I didn't. Today is a day just like that I was told my starter was going out by another shop (Carx) so when it wouldn't start today I figured it was the starter. They checked it out and told me nothing was wrong. Honestly I probably flooded it, which is why it started later so I immediately took it there. They called me back and said nothing was wrong, it all tested out great. Battery, starter and something else. They could have said yep you need a starter and sold me one. I will never have my car repaired any where else. I know I have had repairs on my car in the past that were not needed. Love LeClaire Auto Service !
