I have went through them several times for parts and to get rid of vehicles with no problems until recent. I went to get rid of my tahoe and the lady on the phone was very nice and told me they could come get it the same day and that the tow truck driver would be calling. Which I knew cause my prior experiences. So then I get a call about 2 hours later from some dude named Chris. He asked me to confirm the address for the vehicle which I did. And then I said well ill see you soon, assuming he was the tow truck driver cause thats how my past experiences went. He said oh your going to assume im gonna come get it, no I just call to confirm the information. Which in the past had never happened, and he was very rude about it. He obviously hates his job. I said well im sorry I was told the next person to call would be the tow truck driver. He said no im not coming to get it, someone else will. Then asked me where the truck was. I said in my yard. He said well you need to push it to the street cause we dont go in people's yards for shit. I said well you dont have to have an attitude, 3 weeks ago when the driver came to pick up my burban he had no problem as long as I gave permission and stayed outside while he hooked up so im sorry if that was wrong but you dont have to be rude about it, but ill make sure its in the street. Then he said well the two truck driver will contact you and just hung up. Which is probably the best thing be could have done cause I was about to be rude right back to him but I was raised better than that. I dont see how he still has a job, if he talks to people like that he needs to go find a new job asap. I guess ill just have to make sure the next time I sell a vehicle to them that I tell em not to have chris call or come to get the vehicle cause he needs to change his attitude or change his employer. Obviously being a tow truck driver is too much for him.
The guys that worked there on the morning of September 14th were kind, respectful and very knowledgeable, in the fields in which they helped me and others in. Thank YOU!
Very crappy place I called bout a strut they said 20 bucks so I drove a hour there and when I got the strut off they said it was 40 terrible place doesn't give good service worst place to go they will try to rip u of bc there a shitty business
They now charge two dollars to get in to see if they have a need. Not too many cars for Chevys or Dodgers. Had six employees at 3 o’clock in the afternoon for employees and customers.
My first time experience with Chris was above and beyond what I thought it would be like. He'd actually kept trying to contact over the weekend via text and calling but I don't answer my phone if I don't recognize the number, so when Sunday came I happened to look at my texts and seen he'd called . Long story short, he first said someone would be there to get the car first thing Monday morning, but, he called me back to say he was in the neighborhood and asked if he could just get it now. HELL yeah! I said. Lol. That's where he went above and beyond. This was my first experience like I said and Chris did an awesome job! He's very knowledgeable and even had some jokes as we spoke while giving me a hard time about not answering my phone. It was all fun and games though. Thank you for being my first contact with this company. Btw, they gave me more than what they even quoted over the phone
If I recommend a company to buy a junk car, It would be U Pull It. I had a dump truck that my husband and I were in desperate need to get rid of due to moving. It was in the same position in my backyard for 3 years, and was embedded in the dirt. I called and they came within the week, when Chris got to my house he was hesitant on taking a dump truck since he was unfamiliar with taking one like mine. Once he got the thumbs up to take it, he worked with us in the cold weather of November. Also, he stayed for 1 or 1.5 hours to work a heavy big dump truck on his flat bed from a very awkward tight position where our dump truck was located. This company is easy to work with, and has a great employee like Chris that goes above and beyond!
Horrible customer service. I caller asking for a car part and they just told me “come down and look” isnt that what your numbers for? Drove 30 minutes for nothing!
Darnell was my tow driver today. He notified me when he was on his way and even he worked around MY work schedule! He was professional, knowledgable and had perfect communication skills. They gave me $427 instead of $300, which is what the other scrapyards in town were offering, and that was with free towing. Friendly and competent tow truck driver. Very happy with this service, would recommend to anyone.
They couldn't tell me where the GD parts car was so I ran around in a rainstorm in the mud for two football fields trying to find the magical crown Vic and it never showed up despite calling them several times for directions and having a ticket for its location not location it's row number f this place
I'm not sure about all their parts, but the radiator I needed was way overpriced 15.00 less than a brand new one. Then asked me to put it back..... um no sir, already passed my free labor limit today
I'm planning a trip to visit and all I know from reading these reviews is that I can hardly wait and Im asking for Jerry if I need any assistance! I will update my review after my trip to my future favorite parts yard.
My new favorite junkyard. I actually feel happy after junking my car. Was so quick as well. The tow truck driver was amazing and so friendly. Definitely recommend this place will be telling all my friends a family. Thank you for being so friendly and fair!
If I could leave no stars I would but im sure not every employee is disrespectful like Chad. I call on Saturday 11/11/23 and got quoted and scheduled for pick-up but I need this car salvaged and moved ASAP so I continued to shop around to see if there was a better deal or if someone could pick it up sooner. I got ahold of a company that offered me $10 less and they use U-Pull-it to tow the vehicles they salvage. So I call Chad and ask if I can keep same date or how that works. He started saying that I was wasting his time .ecause I continued to shopping around and told me he wasn't going to get my car. Then started calling me dirty names which mad me angry so I told him to do his job but he is very unprofesional and should be fired. All because I was looking for the best deal like everyone does
Came here for the first time yard is very clean organized and clear of debris for a yard. Prices were good and the customer service was excellent. I will be back awesome place to find a donor vehicle for your needs. I left feeling good about my purchase.
Well horrible customer service skills, also they apparently close well before 7pm their stated and printed closing time. Rude, curt, abrupt, lacking hospitality or even common human decency.
I’ve been to a lot of salvage yards and Upull it in Des Moines is by far the best and my favorite! Not because they have the best selection on par with no other.
But because the employees the are all so friendly and happy to help especially my favorite Jerry! He will always be so happy to help you find what your looking for and tell you where to look for it! Many thanks to Jerry and his crew at Upull It in Des Moines!
I went there to get deposit back up for rimsl I had to pay a deposit with the tires I bought I paid it $40 for two Rims I had to do this twice cuz the tires I got the first time were wrong showing too busy I ended up with four extra rims $80 in deposits. When I went to get my deposit back they only gave me $40 saying they couldn't read one of their receipts they couldn't read the barcode they were the ones that sold me the rims the weekend before and they knew all about it and they wouldn't give me the extra 40 back so I ended up having to pay $40 deposit it because their thieves I guess best way I can put it I'm nothing but a working man out here and they're taking my money (Thieves) they do me they knew the deposits and they wouldn't give it back nothing other than thieves
Got there at 6:35 pm and they said they were closed and all we had to do is run the scales and push off appliances, that later said they no longer take most of them. Really respectful people but not very happy at the hours posted when they were currently not wanting to work a few minutes later. And also offered to let them keep 50$ of the money and still nothing.
