My roadside assistance hired Central Iowa Towing and Recovery to tow my vehicle ...Central Iowa sent out a smaller Tow service (which Central Iowa owns) Roy's Towing. Roy's Towing damaged my vehicle while loading my vehicle......neglected to tell me they knowingly damaged it when it happened......fast forward a MONTH, multiple attempts to contact Roy's and now Central Iowa is claiming they aren't Roy's so there shouldn't be a claim against them. And since my roadside assistance had no record of Roy's and now Central Iowa is saying I used a different tow service there is no claim. Thankfully, I was able to say Roy's is owed by Central Iowa Towing....and my insurance found that information so my claim is still valid.
Almost $3 grand in damages and it's been a MONTH. They dont even deserve 1 star.

This place was very unorganized at did not seem to know the Iowa law. We went to sign over the title in order to avoid the storage fees that were accrued. Before we signed the title we asked to go take picture for insurance purposes and they refused to allow this, the person at the front desk told us she was told we had to sign over the title and then they would take us back for pictures. According to Iowa code this is not the case and it is illegal to withhold us from viewing or taking pictures while the car title is still in our name and possession despite being on “their” land/property.
The biggest shoutout to Money Mike!!! Sunday my tire blew outside of Huxley. Instead of giving up when my spare tire wouldn't drop he did not stop until my tire was on and me my son were on the way home

I’ve gotta admit. After living in Ames for 10+ years and having my car towed and dealing with that - I hated tow companies! But today, I had to go to Central Iowa Towing after my husbands car had been in an accident. I called first and the guy on the phone was SUPER helpful. Confirmed the car was there, told me the process clearly and answered questions in a friendly manner. Then when I got there, the woman at the front desk again was SUPER helpful and friendly. She got me checked out right away. Waited maybe 5 mins, got to the car, got what I needed and I was on my way. The driver showed up in Ankeny at my house like 3 hours later and dropped the car in exactly the spot I needed. I wish I knew everybody’s name to individually thank but your kindness did not go unnoticed. Thank you so much for making a shitty day for me a little bit easier. I appreciate it so much.

After we got a flat North of the Randall/ Stanhope exit and our spare was totally flat as well, my husband called Central Iowa Towing and Recovery to see if they could air our tire. He was greeted by a very kind woman who got our information quickly and sent someone fast. Within 30 minutes Bobby Wells came to our rescue! He was friendly and very efficient, getting our spare filled with air, put the tire on, and got us back on the road less than 10 minutes after he got there! I had a flat tire at 9pm and my roadside assistance hooked me up with Central Iowa Towing and Recovery. Not only did the tow truck get there way quicker than expected, but Ricky went above and beyond to get me back on the road. He was kind, competent, and instead of towing me, got a spare tire installed! I was surprised at how quickly and effectively the whole issue was taken care of, and I’m really grateful to Ricky and the team at CIT&R!
Bobby Wells is the man! One of the best towers in the state. When my car broke down Bobby Wells came to tow it away with great precision and professionalism. He even let me borrow one of his 3 corvettes to drive for the week while my car was in the shop! Let’s Go Bobby Wells!!
We got stranded on 35 at night on Easter Sunday. Bobby was there in less than an hour and helped us out so much. Teah originally gave us the wrong price and called us back to let us know she made a mistake and the cost was half what she told us. A truly honest company with good people!
Very Quick service. “Money Mike” was my driver and he was very friendly and kept a conversation going the whole 1 hour 15 minute drive after I was really stressed about my situation. He even took the car to my exact parking spot for my apartment complex and then when I had trouble unlocking the door to my apartment he took his time to help me. Whoever was on the call when I called them was also extremely friendly and helpful. All in all excellent service.
I want to give a big thank you and shout-out to Riley of Central Iowa Towing. Last night, Tuesday, January 21, 2025, part of this incredibly bitter cold snap we have been embroiled in, I received word from my eldest son that he needed me to come immediately to an address he was sending to me. His car was there and his keys were locked inside; meantime, he was hoofing it as fast as he could to an appointment across town while trying not to freeze to death. He had alerted AAA about his need for assistance--his keys were locked in his car--and they called Central Iowa Towing. My son needed me on the scene to meet the gentleman who would be helping to retrieve the keys. After about ten minutes or so I was very pleased to see the big tow truck turn onto the side street where I was waiting, and I flagged down the driver. He rolled down his window and asked if I was in need of an unlock, and when I said yes, for my son's car, he said he'd get turned around and meet me up in front of the car. This is how I met Riley, a very friendly young man, who knew exactly what needed to be done to retrieve those car keys. He had a long zippered kit that contained a variety of tools and mechanisms which he used in combination to literally pop the driver's side car door open. I located the keys in the ignition, removed them, and then provided my ID to Riley upon his request so he could verify who I was for his records. I had my AAA card ready, too, but he didn't require it. We had a nice brief exchange; I was glad to see him in insulated coveralls and a stocking cap and gloves considering the dangerously frigid temperatures, and I thanked him profusely for his help in such a timely manner. All of this occurred between 7:15 and 8 PM, and combined with the darkness and cold, it seemed very late and very bleak, but Riley was cheerful and took good care of us. A Roadside Rescue Tale
Broke down in the heart of Iowa with a Penske truck and trailer en route from TN to MN – talk about a traveler's nightmare! But fear not, for Riley from Central Iowa Towing and Recovery came to our rescue. Not only did Riley show up earlier than anticipated but his friendly demeanor and professional expertise turned what could have been a disastrous detour into a surprisingly pleasant experience. With Riley at hand our journey was back on track in no time. Kudos for prompt and courteous service. Plus the three-hour trek from the middle of nowhere Iowa to Minnesota felt like a breeze with Riley's expert navigation skills. If ever stranded in the middle of nowhere, Iowa again, we know who to call!

Bobby arrived less than 30 minutes after being called to tow my car that had a passenger-side rear flat tire. Instead of towing, he put air in my tire that allowed me to drive to repair shop, which cost less!! He planned to follow me to the shop to make sure I arrived, but when I was uncertain where the repair place was, Bobby led the way. He also put me in touch with a shop that got me in immediately. If you have to have car troubles, Bobby is the one to call! He went above and beyond to help me.
Just had my vehicle towed from Perry to DSM. Safest ride I ever took. Considerate of my vehicle and took his time to make sure we had a safe trip. Can’t say enough. The road needs more drivers like this.
