Jamie was great! Arrived an hour earlier than expected and was able to jump my car and keep it running. Something that 3 different battery packs couldn't accomplish.
They charged me for 15 miles when it was only 4.3 miles I owed for. They refused to lower it and said they wouldn't tow if I didn't pay the full amount. I would avoid them at all costs if you are looking for an honest company.
Maybe tell your driver in your roll back today 1/20/26 on I35 north around 1500 hauling that scissor lift that passed me to not cut off semis with less than half a car length and almost get us both into a major accident and then you either lose your entire business or have a massive insurance claim. Then he proceeded to slow down and I pass him, after he passed me on I35, on US20 westbound around Webster City. Dude needs to pay attention before he kills somebody.
Trevor was fantastic, did an amazing job and gave us a ride back home. No complaints at all, deserves a raise for sure! FAR BETTER than Crow Tow, they could never compete.
Needed my car towed because it didn't start I'm guessing a bad fuel pump. Progressive sent these guys out and they tried jump starting which is fine it didnt start I thought they would leave it at that and just put the car in neutral but instead they tried again pressing multiple times down on the gas pedal until it finally started and than revved the hell out of it after it did. I didnt have you guys come down to start it i had you guys come down to tow it. I’ve seriously never had a tow truck company do that. You should’ve asked first instead of just revving it. Especially after its been sitting during the cold weekend. Im a mechanic so I know thats not good for the engine. I wouldnt rev the hell out of your cars you guys shouldnt do it to any of your customer cars. Definitely just showed a lack of care for other peoples property. Hope to never have to use these people again.
Just my luck; my truck went down on the coldest day of the year. The CIT team was awesome to work with. They had a truck out there ASAP to help me out. Honest fair pricing and the driver was sure to be careful with my vehicle. 10/10!
Probably actually saved my life. Was left in the snow for 2 hours by AAA refusing to send someone to help me. Called these guys through a recommendation and after no more than 30 or 40 minutes they came to get me out of the snow. Genuinely might still be stuck without their quick assistance
Stuck in a ditch out in the country during a nasty snow storm at night. Called Central Iowa Towing. Answered right away, very friendly and said help on the way would be about 90 minutes. He showed up in about 60 minutes and got me out fast. Very reasonably priced and saved me alot of time and hassle. Highly recommend!
I can’t express enough how happy I am with the work they did for me. John was the driver that assisted me put of Marshalltown. he didn’t give up on helping me remove the stuck lug nut off my car even when it didn’t wanna come off. Absolutely amazing and professional went out of his way to make sure I was taken care of even gave me 5$ of his own money to make sure I was able to get a replacement lug nut and went as far as to air up my tires. I can’t recommend him and this company enough. He deserves a raise for sure
Got on the phone with them, they gave me the price and time, the driver even called me to double check as he got closer. It was straight to the point and well within the timeframe I was given. The driver, Jacob was a great guy, who made the ride enjoyable the whole way.
This company is a class act. I blew a tire on the interstate during morning rush hour and knew I would need help. I called their dispatch number bright and early. She was so kind and reassuring. Their towtruck driver arrived very quickly and helped me out. Nice, efficient. Just an all-around good experience for such a bad start to my morning commute! Told me 15 20 minutes an hour ago. Called back and he says he understands but isn’t welling to work on the price at all or do anything for me I’m still siting on the side of the highway you shouldn’t just tell people what they want to hear keep it real my guy
Not sure about their towing expertise, but if you need to rework the load, please find a different company.
They spend 5 hours shifting 5 pallets to the back of the trailer, while dropping one in the process and braking it. Half of the time guys spent standing around looking at each other and the pallets with no idea what to do with it. Had to talked to them several time over a span of 90 minutes to point to them how it need to be done after they dropped the first pallet. Somehow they decided it’s going to be a good idea to drive off the tilted flatbed with the pallet, which they absolutely didn’t need to do. Obviously pallet fell off when they tilted skid-loader forward. The actual job took about 2 hours after they got on the right pass and were working along. They had all the tool available to them to do it right and time efficient ( skid-loader, 2 flatbed tow trucks)
Guys were nice, just were not experienced or confident in what they were doing.
Management would not consider discounting the bill for the time that was wasted due to them standing around, dropping the pallet and working out the issue they created.
Tow truck was super fast, and picked me up on the side of 235. They gave me a ride to mechanic, were super nice and friendly. Will be using them anytime I need a tow from now on. Thanks Jamie!
I had a car that wouldn't start, and the experience was incredibly positive from their promptness to their communication. Jamie was very helpful and got my car going without the tow needing to happen.
Update....2 months. Time to contact a lawyer and the insurance commissioner to help take care of the scammers.
My roadside assistance hired Central Iowa Towing and Recovery to tow my vehicle ...Central Iowa sent out a smaller Tow service (which Central Iowa owns) Roy's Towing. Roy's Towing damaged my vehicle while loading my vehicle......neglected to tell me they knowingly damaged it when it happened......fast forward a MONTH, multiple attempts to contact Roy's and now Central Iowa is claiming they aren't Roy's so there shouldn't be a claim against them. And since my roadside assistance had no record of Roy's and now Central Iowa is saying I used a different tow service there is no claim. Thankfully, I was able to say Roy's is owed by Central Iowa Towing....and my insurance found that information so my claim is still valid.
Almost $3 grand in damages and it's been a MONTH. They dont even deserve 1 star.

After we got a flat North of the Randall/ Stanhope exit and our spare was totally flat as well, my husband called Central Iowa Towing and Recovery to see if they could air our tire. He was friendly and very efficient, getting our spare filled with air, put the tire on, and got us back on the road less than 10 minutes after he got there! I had a flat tire at 9pm and my roadside assistance hooked me up with Central Iowa Towing and Recovery. Not only did the tow truck get there way quicker than expected, but Ricky went above and beyond to get me back on the road. He was kind, competent, and instead of towing me, got a spare tire installed! I was surprised at how quickly and effectively the whole issue was taken care of, and I’m really grateful to Ricky and the team at CIT&R!
Very Quick service. “Money Mike” was my driver and he was very friendly and kept a conversation going the whole 1 hour 15 minute drive after I was really stressed about my situation. He even took the car to my exact parking spot for my apartment complex and then when I had trouble unlocking the door to my apartment he took his time to help me. Whoever was on the call when I called them was also extremely friendly and helpful. All in all excellent service.
Broke down in the heart of Iowa with a Penske truck and trailer en route from TN to MN – talk about a traveler's nightmare! But fear not, for Riley from Central Iowa Towing and Recovery came to our rescue. Not only did Riley show up earlier than anticipated but his friendly demeanor and professional expertise turned what could have been a disastrous detour into a surprisingly pleasant experience. With Riley at hand our journey was back on track in no time. Kudos for prompt and courteous service. Plus the three-hour trek from the middle of nowhere Iowa to Minnesota felt like a breeze with Riley's expert navigation skills. If ever stranded in the middle of nowhere, Iowa again, we know who to call!
Bobby at Central Iowa Towing was awesome! He took my car from a shop in Ankeny to another one in Ames the same morning I called and I didn't even need to be on site at either place. Appreciated the convenience and I'd trust Central Iowa Towing with any future towing needs. Cost was better than the first quote I got, too!
Bobby arrived less than 30 minutes after being called to tow my car that had a passenger-side rear flat tire. Instead of towing, he put air in my tire that allowed me to drive to repair shop, which cost less!! He planned to follow me to the shop to make sure I arrived, but when I was uncertain where the repair place was, Bobby led the way. He also put me in touch with a shop that got me in immediately. If you have to have car troubles, Bobby is the one to call! He went above and beyond to help me.
