I was in Marshalltown and had a break down. I called Hogeland Auto and Lonnie was quick to jump and come save me. Come to find out I simply need an alternator. To my surprise Hogeland is a used parts supplier also and they have trailers Full of used parts. Being that it was a Sunday And I really needed to get back home the owner Lonnie and his son even installed the alternator. We are very grateful that we found them on our way through.
Tried to take my car even tho it was moved (from "illegal" parking spot) before they ever got hooked up or even dropped the bed. They called the cops as the owner screamed in my face I needed to pay for dropping the bed (which we have on camera it was not dropped until they wanted to call cops)! Mind you I'm pregnant and was just trying to pay instead of taking my car which was now in a legal spot. Said they called property owners or were called to get my car by them but when property owners got back to us, they also did not understand why they were trying to take it so they lied to us and the cops. Just completely unprofessional and was more worried about getting money from a job that never occurred than a positive experience! Do not recommend working with them!
I've lost track of the amount of times I've needed to call Hogeland for a tow over the years. A couple years ago I had just dropped my husband off at the hospital to have test done, and my old Buick went out on me, she was done for and had served me well. I called Lonnie and he came right away, towed the car to his place and gave me a ride home to get the truck so I could go get my husband. Gave me a fair price for the car. Last winter I was in town getting a pick up order and the starter went out on my truck. Lonnie and his son Levi happened to be just a couple blocks away, they came right to the store and tried tapping on the starter to get me going but it was completely out. They towed my truck home and gave me a ride for a very fair price considering I live 10 miles from town.
Recently needed a full size spare for my car and Lonnie didn't have one but found me one at a good price in Ames.
8 years ago he had come across some tonka trucks and dropped some off at our house for the grandkids, and when my 3 year old granddaughter Arianna was in a car accident that took her life, he showed up at the hospital to give his support to my oldest daughter.
He's helped my youngest daughter out numerous times with her vehicles and always goes above and beyond.
His son Levi is a teenager and already a professional at driving the tow truck, that kid is smart, kind, and has a great personality.
I know this is a long review, and I'm not writing this because I'm friends with Lonnie, I've never had any social interaction with him, it's always been business, many years of dependable business, and I'm grateful for service he and his crew provide.
I have bought many parts frome Hogeland. They are always doing what they can to help. I have confidently sent my customers to them in time of need over the years and knew they would be taken care of. Great people to work with!
Lonnie and his crew are professionals in every sense of the word. Lighting fast response, day or night, knowledgeable tow drivers rescue your vehicle from any nonsense you can get into !!
They take pride in having spotless equipment and have a friendly attitude..what more could you ask ??
I suggest you put his number in your phone for those emergencies when you need help and help quickly.

Unprofessional company attempted to tow our car from our own parking lot. The individual involved was aggressive, rude, and discriminatory. Stay alert and stand your ground if you’re in the right.
Do not work with this company! The owner runs an extortion scheme where he entraps you on his property then demands exorbitant amounts of money to release you from his entrapment. Why would you ever choose to use this company’s services when the owner engages in this type of activity? I highly advise against working with them on account of the owner’s schemes.
One star because I was behind elderly guy at kwikstar. He was driving a pickup truck that was Rusty with this logo on it. He was screaming at the cashier for no good reason. As she was trying to confirm how much gas he wanted on pump one. As she was trying to confirm and figure out how much money does 2 gallons cost he was screaming and yelling the entire time. As I heard him say "I remember this especially if I see you in person" and something else I didn't hear. It was an older gentleman wearing a green hat. This interaction Cause multiple other people in line to come up to her afterwards to ask her if they want her to go out there and confront him. It disgusts me to know that this company has someone like him working for this company. Now I know to never call this company if I have any car problems because I never want to deal with that older gentleman

Lonnie and staff were very prompt with answering questions and returning phone calls. Vert pleasant and offered competitive prices for crashed vehicles.
Lonnie gave me a fair amount, in cash, for my '05 Impala. I was hoping for $200, but considering the shape it was in, I was probably pushing it. I appreciated also that he was prompt, and arrived at the towaway location I gave him as we agreed. He hasn't built his fleet of tow trucks by being irresponsible with time, that's for sure.
He also helped me take a few things out of my trunk while he was at it. Topped it off by letting me keep the pen he handed me to sign the bill of sale. I know that's a common business practice, but that just goes to prove that the best businesses attend to the details -- right down to excellent writing utensils.
Would rate higher if I could, not from around here, broke down 8 miles north of Marshalltown on a Friday evening coming back from state fair, they quickly got us, dropped our car off at a repshop and let us use his own truck to take to motel and drive until our car got fixed. Definitely was great service!!
Trash do not call this place junk parts rips you off anyway they can get a dollar out you 385$ for less then 5miles and store it for 2 days. And it wasnt even an after hours call

I don't live in the area and these people were wonderful. And honest! My car was there for two days and my glasses, ATM card, a chuck of cash and other valuables were in the car. Everything was exactly where I left it. Bravo!
The owner should be the mayor of Marshalltown. He is genuine and goes all the way for his customers. Don't bother calling anyone else. If Lonnie can't do it, he knows someone that can.

Call Deb to come pick up my truck that is broke down to buy it off of me it was a 02 GMC Sierra 1500 with a bad starter mount their driver told me I have a crisp $100 bill if it would buy it considering it's got a $200 starter in it the motor is worth $400 to transmissions worth $200 the rear ends worth 150 no a hundred bucks ain't going to buy it I know what the vehicle is worth and I think you can do a little bit better than $100 I'll be sure to look for your review on your guys's business on my YouTube page thank you
I was broken down outside of Melbourne and called Lonnie and the crew. Nicest guy ever, came quickly and purchased the vehicle from me- I didn’t have the title on me and he said “just mail it on Monday I know you’re good for it”! Very friendly, towed my daughter and grandchildren let them stay there and wait for me to arrive and while i was repairing the car they offered tools and a place to clean up afterwards. Everone was very pleasant. Thank You!
Great service! I had the unfortunate experience of needing a tow, but Jeremy from Hogeland took away a lot of the stress. Not only did he arrive quickly, but he had my vehicle loaded in no time and was very professional. For a place you hope you never have to use, they do an outstanding job. I highly recommend!
My pick up gas towed from a public place charges were $458 dollars to take it out I called at 4:32 when it clearly says they close at 5:00 and they told me that they were close at 4:32 that I have to wait until the next day that's just to charge me more money. Update the system so that it does not look like a mi fatt lie.
