The Interstate trucking company that I drive for hauls scrap between scrap yards and to foundries from scrap yards. This is the most friendly and helpful yard I have ever dealt with. BTW, most scrap yards are very friendly and helpful, but this yard is at the top of my list!
As an interesting aside, I could not help but notice that they had what I assumed was a brand new CAT crane loading me. I also noticed that the Operator was very deft and precise in his "Maestro" level of control while orchestrating the controls of his machine.
I learned later that the "New" crane was in fact FIVE YEARS OLD". By all appearance, I would have sworn that is was less then one week old. I have seen a LOT of cranes in many yards. I have seen cranes that were less than a month old that did not look like they were even close to being brand new.
I also learned that the Operator was so good that Marion Iron bought the crane especially for him and that he was the only person authorized to operate it.
GREAT GROUP OF GUYS OUT THERE ALWAYS NICE AND CLEAN I KNOW ITS A JUNK YARD BUT I USE TO GET FLAT TIRES AT THE OTHER POPULAR SCRAP PLACE NOT SO TIDY AND FRIENDLY SO I STOPPED GOING THERE BEST DECISION BY FAR OF COURSE I HAVEN'T RECEIVED NO FLAT TIRES BECAUSE THESE GUYS MAINTENANCE THE AREA PRETTY WELL BUT I DO JUST FOR THAT ADDED PROTECTION I DO WALK IN FRONT LOOKING FOR SHARP OBJECTS THAT COULD DAMAGE MY TIRES
The only metal place I will ever go to anymore! Ultra scrap metal wanted me to put my number two cast in with shred and the other small metal recycling facility in town doesn't seem to have their pricing updated ever. These guys have new metal options as well as scrap options. I have purchased a lot of new metal to fabricate and they have been willing to deliver cut and fabricate items for me which is unbelievably awesome. I don't think I am willing to find another place to go unless this place somehow disappeared
As a tire and rim dealer, as well as automotive repair shop, I've been in contact with this business many times and it's always been a pleasure for me. From the professionalism to the personalities and good attitudes of the employees, it's never been a bad experience when doing business with them. They also came very highly recommended by many of the other local businesses. Even their scrapyard is kept neater and more well-organized than most! A good business full of good people if you're ever in need of their services!
I had a great time selling my metal here. they are very knowledgeable and helpful and all things metal. and are willing to work with you so that you know what you're after out in the world.
Great place! My review isn't about scrap, but about buying metal for jobs. These guys are always extremely helpful. They'll cut material right now, and they have a pretty good inventory. I've also had them fabricate for me when needed. And delivery is good too, for extra long items. I'd highly recommend them for anything metal related.
3 for 3 visits, I was lied to about what something was and what its value was. They will get no further business from me even though they are closer than anyone else. Took my scrap elsewhere, got quite a bit more than it was worth according to marion iron.
Wonderful place! Getcha any metal you want, within reason. Cheaper than dirt too! Granted, all I bought was sheet stainless but it was the cheapest I'd seen. Nice 304 stainless though. Pretty sure they do fabrication if needed. I highly recommend for your metal/fab needs.
This is where you take your metals for disposal, not the landfill! There is money in recycling. It seems like chaos, but they get you in and out and on your way. Weigh in on the drive-in scale, they tell you where to unload your own junk, and then exit through the same scale and you get paid depending on how much of what you threw out. If you can successfully separate your copper, brass, stainless, aluminum, tin, etc. you can get these items weighed separately for better dollar values.
