11pm. Broken axle on the trailer on I80. 35 degrees out. Called Dean. He was here in just over half an hour. Towed us where we needed to go. Even checked with the store to make sure we could be there until our other trailer arrived. Price was good for an emergency call. Definitely recommend.
We had a Freightliner bus break down in Cedar Rapids which is over 4 hours away from our base, and Darrah’s came to the rescue. From the very first call, Chris was incredibly kind, calm, and efficient. He told me he’d have someone out in about 90 minutes, but to my surprise, the technician arrived in closer to 30. That alone blew me away, especially coming from Chicago where response times are rarely that fast.
The technician was knowledgeable and skilled, got right to work, and had us back up and running quickly. Thanks to them, we avoided having to send a rescue bus, deal with expensive towing, and disrupt our trip any further.
I truly hope we don’t break down in Cedar Rapids again, but if we ever do, I know exactly who I’m calling. Huge thanks to Chris and the entire team at Darrah’s for outstanding service!
We broke down on 151 near Monticello, so we called Darrah’s and they quickly sent a truck out to help us, which was great because it was so cold out! When Mason arrived he let us sit in his truck right away while he got the car loaded up. He towed us to a mechanic in Monticello and was super friendly and easy to chat with - he even recommended a good place to grab food while we waited for a family member to pick us up. Excellent, prompt service in the middle of an awful snow storm! Andrew arrived quickly after the call was placed, and had no issues getting my car out of a deep ditch in the freshly fallen snow. He helped knock the snow off and made sure my car was positioned safely and ready to go. Surprisingly affordable as well! Would absolutely recommend. Thank you, Andrew!

Cassie was my dispatcher. Loren was my driver. They were great. I needed a tow on "Black Friday." They turned it into "Sunny Friday. Cassie made all the necessary changes in my towing order. Loren actually arrived early and got it to Toyota without a hitch. Anybody can buy a tow truck. Cassie and Loren are the kind of people who make choosing Dara the right tow truck!

This company is amazing! I don’t know where to start. Prompt eta’s. They clean up after accidents with little to no mess left behind. I haven’t had a bad experience yet and I’ve had multiple vehicles towed by Darrahs’s. Keep up the awesome work
I set up a tow from Iowa City to Cedar Rapids dealership. The car was delivered but no one in the service department was alerted that it was dropped off. Later in day not a phone call or anything from Darrah's as to status to car and whereabouts. I called them and they said it was dropped off midday. I worked with service team to locate car, and it was sitting behind service unlocked with keys in it. Work had been lined up to complete repair that afternoon, but nobody knew where car was. Upon speaking with Darrah's and my concerns, they indicated a manager would call me next day. Well, that didn't happen either. I had to call back to follow up. That conversation was apologetic, and they indicated they made changes to procedures moving forward. The manager also indicated that he would like to refund the cost of the tow. Which I was appreciative. It's been a week since that commitment to refund, and I still haven't seen any credit. Very disappointed for the overall experience. I chose Darrah's because they were well known and highly regarded. I hope they improve their customer service moving forward.

But there I was, out of town, late on a Friday night, when I got a call from my daughter saying she’d blown a tire. I knew there was no way I could get there to help. One quick call to Darrah’s, and they were there in 10 minutes! Can’t thank you guys enough for taking care of her and giving me peace of mind when I couldn’t be there myself. That kind of service means more than you know.

Always my number one call, the other companies around, (big corporate owned conglomerates that own multiple companies and pretend they're separate) don't ever want to take care of you and are just in it for the money. Love supporting local business like Darrahs!
This review is based on an interaction while picking up a vehicle on behalf of an insurance company. Is it really necessary to deprive people of basic accommodations like ventilation or climate control? The hallway was completely sealed off from the employee area, with no airflow and no relief from the heat — just a small window in the door to exchange paperwork. On a 90° day, that’s not just uncomfortable, it’s unacceptable.
Darrah's dispatcher was patient, professional, and easy to work with. The tow truck driver (I believe his name was Geoff) did an outstanding job preparing and towing our motor home. He had to run a long air line along the side of the motor home to our air brakes that required two air hoses to be coupled together. He took the time to wrap the coupling of the two hoses with a cloth to make sure it wouldn't damage the paint on the sidewall of the motor home. He also bungied up the rock guard so that it wouldn't drag while being towed. We live full-time in our motor home and it has to be driven carefully to avoid any side-to-side rocking that would cause the contents to shift around and get damaged. Geoff was aware of the situation and took great care while towing our home. He delivered it to the shop without any of the interior contents moving at all! Our home was delivered without any damage in the interior or exterior. Geoff was fantastic. I highly recommend Darrah's towing if you need your motor home towed.
