My car has a broken windshield because the flat bed operator didn't sweep gravel off the bed of the tow truck. I reached out to pro tow several times with no response. Unsafe company @
Let me start by saying I was parked in a privately owned lot and am not mad about getting towed as I was in the wrong. However, this company is built to screw you out of as much money as possible.
The employees were all kind and helpful except for the operations manager who was awfully rude and a general pain. My vehicle was impounded on a Friday, and this business is only open Mon-Fri until 4pm. So, by the time I found it was gone and called them they told me I wasn't able to retrieve it for 3 days.
Even though I was physically stopped from taking my vehicle for those days, they still charged me $75 per day. On top of that, their fees before considering storage cost over $400 alone as you can see in the attached photo.
I highly encourage companies wanting a vehicle removed from their lot to consider other local towing companies unless they are intentionally trying to screw people out of 800 bucks.
Twice the price of other tow companies in town if you're caught in the wrong parking lot...and they won't let you get it out over the weekend, but will charge you $75 per day anyway plus over $400 for the initial in-town tow. And to top it off they've got the worst attitude with consumers. Do not support this predatory business.

Shoutout to the tow truck driver that came and got us towed to atc quickly and effectively with a great attitude even though it was a Friday night and would rather be doing other things. Thanks a bunch
The staff is rude and belligerent. So unprofessional. Especially the females working they have an attitude that’s unnecessary. Called to ask if my vehicle was there and told me no then when one of my family member called they said yes and they were mad. That is so childish from a business to operate like that. And they said they took it because it was parked in front of the sign, no it wasn’t it was parked in front of my home so that’s definitely not true. Please do not ever use this company for anything just like all the other reviews on here it’s true they SUCK!!!!
They towed my car before I could move it. They waited a whole week before leaving me know. By that time, the cost to tow it back was over $1000. When I asked if I could just get some personal items out, I was told I could for $700. They are thieves.
i called my insurance company for roadside assistance. they referred me to Protow. Their tow operator did so much damage in the 3 1/2 hours he had my vehicle. i arrived home (where my vehicle was towed to find my vehicle half on a flat bed and the rear of my vehicle on the ground. i called the office at protow and told them what was happening, including the the message i got saying my Services were complete , as i am looking at this man struggle to “complete” my service. the office sent someone out to my house . i surveyed the damage to my vehicle (best i could in the dark) and asked for a refund of the tow and asked how these damages were to be taken care of . after calling the business again , i was treated like i had done something wrong. repeatedly told people lie and try to say the tow caused damages that were already there… not one apology or action to rectify this situation. that was over a week agai. DO NOT LET THIS COMPANY TOW your vehicle , they do not back up there business and treat customers like garbage. off to court we will go. in the meantime i’m stuck with a severely damaged vehicle and worries i didn’t have before i let this company tow my vehicle home.
My car was towed from it's location without my permission or knowledge or warning. When zi tried to get it back, the wanted $1000. I didn't even have a chance to get it towed to a garage to get fixed.
My 16 year old nephew broke down on a major highway. Called pro tow, had them on speaker and the lady was very rude when she answered the phone. Tone of voice made us feel like a burden. Did not provide a time frame either. We went in and dropped off key and paid for the tow and called after almost an hour went by and told us they were on the way to the car. Car ended up getting towed by another tow company because it was broke down near a busy intersection. Which happened to only be 2 miles away from the pro tow shop. If I had known the time frame was over an hour I would have called another tow company. Ended up paying $500 due to unreliable communication. Called and asked to speak to the manager or owner and lady changed her tone of voice. Learn to treat others with kindness especially when they are broke down already.
My vehicle broke down and I needed a quick tow. Ron was on the case and had my vehicle loaded up less than 30 minutes after submitting the request! One of the best experiences I’ve ever had with a tow service and it’s all because of Ron!
Predatory tow company. Didn't realize my car was on a 'private' road and they charged me $370 for 'private impound' I'm sure much higher than their standard rates due to having a business contract with the apartment complex. On top of that, they were rude and unwilling to work with me on the costs. They charged me a total of $75/day for 'storage' due to 'administrative fees'. All in all, ended up having to pay nearly $800 for them to so kindly 'store' my vehicle for 5 days and threaten to scrap my vehicle if I did not retrieve it within 11 days. Do not give this predatory business your money. There are much kinder towing companies that are actually there to help the community. Take your business elsewhere.
Needed an emergency jump on a Sunday morning, and Pro Tow was quick and helpful. Jake was kind and efficient. While I hope others don’t need help, I would recommend their services if you do.
Pro Tow has helped me twice so far. The first time was for a lock out. They arrived within the estimated time and quickly got me into my vehicle. The second time was tonight. While yes, it took 8 hours to get to me, that is because of the sheer amount of people who had called today because of the blizzard. They were incredibly helpful when I called to ask for arrival times, and once they got here they got my car up onto the truck fairly quick after I moved it to make it more accessible.
I called Pro Tow because they take care of vehicles at my business and Rene answered the phone. One of my employees had locked their car while it was running. Rene was so professional and literally had someone out the door heading to my stranded employee before I even gave her all my personal information. Rene was more concerned about getting someone to the location of the vehicle. I recommend Pro Tow for any of your. Vehicle needs. Fast courteous and most of call caring. Had the unfortunate need…. They were more than great! Helped me find a local place to have my Range Rover towed, instead of towing it to Des Moines… saved me $400 and made them $400 less… they put the customer first! Rare to find! Great job and good people.
The driver that assisted me today was very friendly and was professional. He arrived within 30 minutea of needing assistance and took me to the nearest car dealership. Would definitely recommend this company if in the Iowa City/Coralville/CR area.
My daughter locked her keys in her car. We called roadside assistance were told at least a 60 minute wait. Pro Tow was there within 30 minutes and the job was completed with 10 minutes! The driver was very nice and did a great job! Thank you for helping us out today and will keep your card for future use!
My Insurance company sent Pro Tow to my car for a lock out service. Original ETA was 60-75 minutes, but Howard arrived in 20 and had my keys in less than 4 minutes!

Spoke with a very nice professional receptionist who was extremely helpful. As well as the individual who towed my vehicle forgot his name, but I was in a tough spot unable to get my keys to vehicle, he was able to work around that no problem and towed my vehicle to the correct destination... would highly recommend this company.
Requested a jumpstart. Was told and estimated time. They show up an hour earlier without a phone call. Didn’t even call at all, and when I did it was to cancel my request because my car wasn’t located. I walked a outside and my cars there. And too see them back out from behind it and drive away when I had just told them I’m inside. Not a couple feet from it.
Pro Tow was coordinated with my insurance and the process was very easy. They brought me gas after I barely made it home without my wallet. The two guys laughed about it with me and were super easy going. They even stayed to make sure my car turned on. I will be saving their info incase I ever need a tow!
These guys are supper awesome!!! Just got my vehicle towed from North Liberty to Marion at a reasonable price. Receptionist was awesome and fast on quote. And for Tom, the driver, he is supper awesome, fast, and really knows his job. Very polite. He got on the road ASAP when he obtained my details. Tom just took the load of my head!!!

I called Pro Tow today to have then pull my son’s car out of a snow bank on Hwy 13. They gave me a window of time for the tow and called me 30 minutes ahead of the tow time to meet me at the location. The driver, Robert, arrived perfectly on time and quickly extracted my son’s car from the snow bank. Easy. I highly recommend Pro Tow since they do what they say and they do it with professionalism and courtesy. Plus, the price was very fair!
I called Pro Tow after my truck broke down to get it hauled to a mechanic. The woman on the phone was incredibly helpful and sympathetic. She asked for plenty of details of the vehicle, where it was, and where it was going. I had a ride coming but they still agreed to pickup and drop off the truck without my presence required. I called again a week later to get the truck moved from the mechanic to my home after I found out the motor was blown, and they were again extremely helpful. The same woman on the phone was incredibly nice, and the driver called to confirm some details when he got to my house. Even without me there he dropped the truck off. It seems obvious he knows what he's doing, as he put the truck in the driveway in an out of the way spot knowing its not running.
I recommend Pro Tow for any towing needs. Very polite and respectful.
Great service. Easy to work with. Quoted 75 minute wait time and called to say on their way 15 minutes later. Flat hourly rate. {Same rate a competitor gave me for only 30 minutes of service!} Quite easy to deal with. Highly recommend!
