Prices are up, if you scrap appliances, you know what's up. If you want paid, shell them first. Washers dryers deep fat fryers, the works. They buy lead, copper, aluminum, ect.
I took in some #1 copper and didn't even ask price per pound just let them weigh and pay. For 94 lbs got fair market price with no hassle. Will definitely be returning to do more business. Very fair.
Today I took copper in and 6 pounds of clean solid copper with very little tarnish and was graded #2. And 30 pounds of coated copper wire. House wire . I was paid $16 total for the entire 36 pounds. I was quite ill at the time near vomiting from heat exhaustion and in no condition to argue, I feel like I was taking advantage of, possibly because my condition was apparent.
Is a joke took in 54 pounds of burnt copper and a load of scrap on trailer only got 135 bucks and on the scale ticket there's no weight on ticket true scammer
Took 65 lbs of bare bright copper and 20 lbs of unstripped than. They gave me $1.50/lb for the bare bright... which is HALF what its worth. Well, they Gave me $30 cash and an iou for $100. They had already dumped it by the time I received the price. I am livid.
Snake in the grass crook. Gave me less than half price for good steel after it was unloaded because it had 3 push mowers in it. Make 2x more filling my tank and driving 30 miles to alter
Update 8/29/17 - dropped a load of scrap off with them. The staff was nice and helped me out with unloading. Prices of the metal seemed off but it's out of my garage so that's priceless. I still give them 5 stars. Be ready for a gravel yard and if it has rained it will be muddy.
4/25/17 - I went here with hesitation do to the one star from 7 months ago. I pulled in and a staff member came out to me and directed me where to go and helped me sort through what I brought to them. Everyone I talked to was nice and friendly and went out of their way to help me out. Cut me a check and chatted with me for a while nice guys when I was there.
I recommend them if you have car batteries and scrap metal that needs to be recycled
They bought my scrap copper. They took my copper and told me to come back tomorrow to get the check. When my wife went to pick up the check, the price had been lowered by 30 cents a pound.
I been to several local scrap yards and this one is by far the best . Very helpful. Helped unload and assisted me in separating scrap and paying more than I ever got from any other place. Learned the difference between good scrap and worthless stuff like appliances. I recommend these guys.
Terrible place. They were too lazy to buy scrap. Took a stove to them and was told it wasn't worth their time. I recommend all to make the trip to Grinnell and visit Bierman and sons. They will at least weigh and buy your stuff.
