I am a new customer, my passenger side window was stuck open 6 inches. I needed a new mechanic and the Lord guided me to them the day after Christmas. Chris and his son welcomed me in and were so nice late Friday afternoon, took me home, and came and got me first thing Saturday morning. Wonderful service. My car has new doctors

They are AMAZING !! Had to take both vehicles in (unfortunately) the same day they fixed one that day and the other one was done by 9 am the next morning . Very professional and I knew how much it would cost to the penny before service was even done. Their mechanic they have working there is very professional and very knowledgeable! My husband and I were on our honeymoon driving through Evansville and we ran into car troubles. Chris and his dad were amazing! I’m from out of town, and was headed to the hospital for my wife to have a procedure. I hit a pothole on the Lloyd and damaged a coolant line, running my car out of antifreeze and overheating it. Chris and his staff worked me in, very promptly made the repair, and were very friendly and professional throughout the whole process. The cost of the repair was half of what I expected it to be. If I were a local, this would 100% be my go to shop. I’m a technician by trade, and would refer this shop to anyone.

Very honest and straightforward about the work my stepfather needed done on his jeep. Diagnosed and fixed same day. They actually went out of the way to drop my stepdad (senior citizen ) off at home and pick him back up when the car was done. We had recently lost my mom, so this kindness was definitely appreciated! I would highly recommend them. We’ll be taking all of our cars there in the future.
They ordered my part I needed, was able tk het me in at my convenience without any problems at all. Very helpful and Friendly Owners. Happy Customer here. I was on a trip across the country when my wheel bearing started going bad, and making crazy noises. These guys saved my whole trip. I called them in the morning, and they had me back on the road by noon. For a great price too. You can tell this is a family business, and that it's run by genuinely good people. Highly recommended

I found Chris' by recommendation after the dealer quoted $2500 for front and rear shocks/struts. Chris' got it done, did a great job, and my van, with 180K miles on it, drives like new!
When I had a check engine light come on, I was in there three times - no charges, no codes were coming up, but we followed the "most likely" issue. And danged if that wasn't it! I hope to keep this van until 300K and I'm quite sure I will with their care.

On our way from Virginia to Nebraska we broke down just outside of Evansville. We found Chris’ open on a Saturday when nothing else was. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly and helped us get back on our way in great time and for a great price! Couldn’t recommend more!
We took our work van here to have it looked at because there was a loud screeching noise coming from the front driver side tire almost sounded like nails on a chalkboard while we were driving and we couldn’t figure out what it was as we had already had the brakes and rotors changed on it. Chris took a look at it even drove it around and said nothing was wrong. Charged us $30 dollars for that and we were convinced that this man knew what he was doing…. 1 hour later, going 70 miles an hour down the highway heading back to our home city the wheel bearing and spindle break off and thank god for giving my husband the patience and intelligence of knowing how to steer it into safety while me and my daughter were screaming in complete fear. Even the town truck guy said he doesn’t know how the van didn’t flip and why in the world the mechanic didn’t notice the wheel bearings broken. What would have only cost us $30 in parts is now costing us thousands between the tow truck and the excessive damage that was done when everything broke off while driving. This situation could have ended very badly All, because a mechanic that we trusted to have the knowledge to look at our vehicle to tell us if anything was wrong with it in order to keep us safe during our trip home (and he knew how far away from home we were) Didn’t have a clue as to what he was talking about…. I thank God that we are alive and able to even write this review, I just feel like people should know what they’re talking about before you just send a customer away in a death trap…
Wow. My power steering blew out late on Friday afternoon. Chris's got me in Saturday morning and it was fixed by 11am. I was expecting to need a car rental for a couple of days so they saved me a couple of hundred dollars. He came to give me a lift back to the shop to boot! Phenomenal service.
I can't say enough good things about Chris's West Side Auto. Since I moved to Evansville I have been taking my car to get serviced and I always got outstanding service. The guys are incredibly friendly and will educate youon what is potentially wrong with your car. Seriously, if you want good honest service for your vehicle this is the place to go.
I would give these guys 10 stars if I could. I’ve never had a better experience taking my car in before. They were so incredibly kind and patient. They brought me into the shop and pointed out what was wrong and explained everything to me in a way my 25 year old girl brain would understand. They didn’t over charge me and did a few extra things I didn’t ask for to ensure my car was working properly. I will definitely be taking my car to them again for any problems in the future. I couldn’t recommend them enough!!!

Chris and his team are the only place in town I will take my vehicles. 3 generations of my family do as well. Great, honest, professional, family oriented, and hard working people. They keep all of my family's vehicles running, safe, and in top condition. You can't put a price on that. We feel like family here. We won't ever go anywhere else.
Needed new wheel bearings on my focus. I called around and got quotes for 600-700$ for new wheel bearing pressed in. I called Chris’ West Side Auto Service and was told I could get all new drums, hubs and bearings, and it would be easier for them and less costly for me. I was quoted 475$ for all of this, so I dropped my car off pretty late in the morning and it was done by the early afternoon. When I went to pick it up it had shiny new drums on the back and no more road noise on the highway. He even got me out the door for 25$ less than I was quoted. Would recommend to anyone.
Had the fuel pump mess up in my car. They got us in right away, quickly got the tank dropped, and then called to tell me what was wrong and what would need to be done. They were completely transparent on everything and were cheaper than the other shops I contacted. Agreed on the price and they immediately went to work getting it fixed in no time at all. This is the shop I'll be going to when I get my ac compressor replaced. Thoroughly impressed with this shop.
New brakes done on time, car stops so I assume they installed them correctly! They came in below the quote, which i thought was reasonable to begin with. Nice folks! Addendum: shortly after the brake job, I started hearing an odd sound and the car vibrated when braking/turning. I called Chris, and they got me back in right away and fixed the issue without charge! My 2005 Equinox later needed some major work--I want to say it needed a transfer case? or something like that. Chris went out of his way to obtain the part(s) needed--had to use salvage parts, but he made sure to get the assembly with the lowest miles. The work was done quickly and I never had a single problem with the car again until I finally sold it in 2022. I just can't say enough great things about Chris'!

The aspect that really impressed me the most is their genuine care for your auto requests. Once I had a problem with my Girfriend’s car in Austin and did not know how to proceed. I was very impressed with the quality of the work performed by Chris, Chris, and his crew. I called them at the last minute with a problem with my 2015 GMC Terrain and they fit me in right away, fixed the problem, and had me on my way in about 2 hours. They treated me with respect and were very courteous and helpful. Their waiting area is welcoming and comfortable, unlike any automotive shop I have ever seen. The entire crew is knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend this business to anyone who has doubts about the automotive shop that they are currently using.
