Refuse to let you pay with card. On call said I wasn’t allowed to get my wallet to withdraw cash and “it was my problem not theirs”. Rudest customer service call ever. Literally only parked for 12 minutes before getting towed. $240 cash…why cash. It sounds extremely extortionate and less than legal. I’m also fairly certain my car got its bumper damaged but I can’t prove it so they said “sorry out of luck”. Highly unprofessional, rude, and above all extortionate.

Once again JR Enterprise came to save the day and towed my car home. Thank you again for great quick service and amazing customer service, you guys are always one of the best

Towed my car that had a permit displayed (that I had paid $500 for!!). When I went to get my car, I grabbed the permit and waved it in their face and they still charged me $270. I was told to call the manager, and she started ranting to me about how I'm lucky I can even afford to go to college and that minimum wage was sooooo much lower when she was my age, so I should be more grateful. Then she hung up on me. Additionally, they charge an extra $65 fee to pick up on the weekends, even though they tow on weekends and in the middle of the night.

Driver followed me on my butt, flipping me off over and over again. I was using speed limit and turn signals but he kept following and flipping me off. So unprofessional and I felt so unsafe. Def don't suggest using their service as you may be treated like garbage. Note, we were in a school zone. They could care less.

Smelled like cigarettes, charged me 205 after only having it or less than a day. Left other cars in the same lot warnings but not my car. Employee was rude and had no care and business was cash only. I called twice 30 mins after they opened to no reply both times. Terrible experience.

These people are predatory and scammers. I parked in a lot for 15 minutes and when I returned, my car was about to be towed. I talked to the "employee", and he said I could either pay $120 in cash or go to the tow lot and pay $240. He refused to take any digital payment and would only accept cash. My girlfriend went to an ATM to try and get some cash, but the ATM was malfunctioning. After bickering with this man for nearly 30 minutes to try and reach an agreement, he finally relented and let us pay him through apple pay (for $125 for transfer fees) because he was trying to be the "good guy." Not only did this man waste my time and money, but he also wasted my girlfriend's time. DO NOT give this "business" any of your money. These people will ruin your day.

I understand a lot of people don't like tow companies due to the nature of the job (mis parked cars being towed without owners knowledge etc), but at the end of the day someone needs to provide the service, and they treated me very well. My car blew a coolant line and had to be parked until I could afford to get it repaired. Called them up to transport to the shop and they were extremely professional and quick. I saw a lot of complaints about cigarettes, but as a smoker myself I am not qualified to comment. I will say the perks of owning your own business is the ability to follow your own rules, and I would definitely capitalize on that if I was able. They were about $10 more expensive than another company I've used for the same run, but that was also 3 years ago, so that's less expensive than most other things hit by inflation. All in all. Solid tow, thanks for the help guys.

Just had to pay 350 dollars to get my car from these guys after police had to get my car towed out the median on 52, due to ice. It was only at this place 4 stinking hours and I got quoted 415 dollars but the "nice" guy took off 65 bucks but c'mon I've had cars impound for days that didn't reach near that price, thanks for making a bad day even worse, kind of odd the county gets cars towed there....

Absolutely, unequivocally, by far, the worst “business” I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with. My car was towed because I was not displaying a permit at the time, which wouldn’t be a problem if they also towed other cars without a permit. Unfortunately, my leasing company contracts with them. I have contacted JR two or three times to have a vehicle removed that I know for a fact doesn’t have a permit and was taking up a spot. They never showed up, and it took me many calls to even get through to someone. They clearly don’t care about actual vehicles in violation, taking up spots, and instead look to tow cars from pretty much empty lots over winter break. It is so obviously a money grabbing operation, which is hilarious because impounding doesn’t even seem to be that profitable. I guess if they’re wanting to profit $5 on each impound they’ll do it. If your vehicle is towed by these people, DO YOUR RESEARCH. They WILL try to charge you more than they are legally allowed to. I was charged for 2 days of storage when my car had only been there 34 hours. West Lafayette ordinances clearly state that each “day” is a 24 hour period in the impounding world. It had not been 2 24 hour periods, but they tried to charge me for that. When I asked about it and confronted them about this shady practice, the lady became very defensive and rude, but I persisted and she eventually removed the extra day’s charge. I suspect she knew that I was right but hoped I wouldn’t try to fight it. I feel bad for others who have fallen victim to their scams. If you have a choice, I recommend J & T Recovery. Stay away from JR Lafayette Enterprises AT ALL COSTS.

Luckily I never had to deal with these people but i live on Klondike and they "drive". actually not drive FLY past klondike every night with dozens of stolen sorry "towed" cars. If your car is towed in west lafayette its most likely here.

Towed my car at 3am from my apartment parking lot because my parking pass was expired. I couldn’t get to work that day. When I called to ask if they had my car they told me they didn’t. I had to call later and ask again and it magically appeared. Also they say open 24 hours until you actually want to get your car from them.

This establishment provided the most unprofessional experience and service I've ever received! Although they have a card reader, and a sign displaying the different varieties of cards that they accept, they refused anything other than cash transactions, and do not provide an ATM. When I mentioned that this information was not provided on the phone when I spoke with them, the gentleman called me a liar, and began to yell at me. He threatened not to return my car to me, because I said his disrespectful attitude was unprofessional and followed me out while I left yelling. I've never been so disappointed in an establishment before in my life. I hope his day is as pleasant as he is.

Signed a parking lease for my apartment's parking lot and was towed before I even got the chance to get the parking sticker. I got my parking sticker the next day and retrieved my car from the impound lot. Upon getting back to my apartment, I immediately ran up to my room and grabbed the sticker. By the time I got back downstairs, they were trying to tow me again. Easily the most immoral and rude people I've ever encountered

My car was towed in a near-empty lot overnight on a weekend and there was absolutely nothing left for me to help ascertain who towed it. Once I found out from another towing company who it was, I called them and they said I had to pay $185 CASH. So my first impression of the company is that they are sketchy and try to milk every cent they can out of you, which was proven correct when I got there. I asked what their prices were and the man said there was like a 20 or 30 dollar daily holding fee, which was bull since it was there for less than a day. And their facility was the definition of derelict. They had their tow trucks and employee’s cars blocking in towed cars instead of fences. Absolutely the worst and unprofessional towing company I’ve had the displeasure of dealing with.

Had car towed and called and was told I could pick it up at 9am when they opened. I get here at 9:00 am and the doors are locked so I wait and give them a minute to open.. still nothing so I call. They say someone is running late and should be there soon. So I wait. 20 mins go buy still no one here. I call again and am told someone is on their way. Mind you I’m on my own time schedule and need to be somewhere. I ended up waiting 40 minutes before anyone showed up to the garage. They showed no remorse or any attempt to compensate for their lack of professionalism.

Already wrote a review on google. They charge most people a flat $185 for towing their car from a parking lot. Don’t really understand how they can be patrolling parking lots on the weekends when they’re supposed to be CLOSED. I have reached out to the West Lafayette Government about this business. Their practices are predatory and their monetary charges and transactions are highly irregular and suspicious. This fine city has no place for such predation and as such do expect I will not let this go without legal penalty either on the local government level, or state level should the city of West Lafayette be uninterested in this case. This business will not be allowed to prey on residents of this city for much longer, that I assure you. Picture: A sign on the front desk. It is no wonder every legitimate review of this business is 1 star.

I parked my car at an empty parking lot overnight at a friends apartment. I arrived at around 10pm thinking it would be fine since the parking lot was really empty. The next morning, I come outside to find my car has been towed. I went to the place and the guy at the front counter did not cared that I stayed for just the evening and was planning to leave later that day. He only asked for $185 in cash for holding it less than a day. I reluctantly had to pay because I had to leave West Lafayette. Their service are not worth the money. They overcharged for holding a car for less than a day. If I could, I would give him zero stars. Hopefully, they would be out of business.

I parked my car in a nearly empty lot to buy a meal and in less than 10 minutes my car was towed. The company is watching apartment complexes all the time, especially weekends to make extra profits. I was told to pay $85 in the call but they charged me $185, extra fees including after hour release and per day storage. These fees are hand written and they accept cash only. Do not do business with such predatory company!

Towed my car from a parking lot when I chased them down to drop it. Wanted $100 from me and I did not have cash but offered to run and get cash or wire him $100. Man didn’t take it and told me it’d be $185 to pick it up. I hope you feel really great robbing people who already don’t have much money to spare in the first place

My car was towed from my apartment complex on Saturday even though I had a parking permit. One of the employees said we can talk to the owner on Monday in hopes to reduce the fee but failed to mention that I would be charged $20 per day for storage. The only reason I waited till Monday so I pay less money not more and I made that clear to the guy I was talking to. That employee lied so I would be charged more. Very unprofessional.

This is a very corrupt way of business. These companies purposely drive around apartment complexes in the middle of the night on weekends to tow cars and so they can charge an "outside of office" fee. I had a visible parking pass which I told them to look for on the phone. They found it. They still made me pay because "it wasn't visible to them at night". If a company is going to purposely hunt out cars they need to at the very least be thorough in looking for the pass. These companies work with also corrupt apartment complexes to make money off of college students. While technically this way of business is not illegal, this is appalling and immoral. There are other towing companies that are more fair and not every place is like this. Use a towing company with values, for the sake of all the people affected by their corruption.

This company practices predatory towing. Making contracts with leasing companies to tow visitors' cars is shady. These people impounded my brothers car within hours on the night he came to visit, and they extorted $185 out of him to pick it up on a Saturday. They give no notice. I've seen these people prowling around the parking lot at 1 in the morning to tow cars and it's unsettling to see people eagerly doing their job which just screws other people over. They seem to like to do plenty of towing on Friday night so people either have to pay for an "appointment" to get their car on the weekend or pay for "storage" of the vehicle until Monday. It's a crooked company staffed by crooked people, and the leasing companies that work with them aren't any better.

My car got towed during finals week on campus. I was picking up my friend and getting dressed. Gone for 30 minutes and they had already towed my car. I thought whatever I’ll learn my lesson. I just bought my car 3 weeks ago and pay for it with my part time job. I had asked what way they towed it just to make sure everything was good. They told me they’d have to ask the specific driver. Well when I looked at my car there was a scuff on my front bumper and dust and debris all over my car. I pulled back up and asked if they could figure out what way they towed my car due to the scuff and they immediately started lying saying they pulled it from the back. My cars a front wheel drive I’m no idiot. If there was an option for zero stars I’d give it. My lawyer will be speaking with them.

My car slid off the road and they towed it back to JR Enterprises for storage, we were quoted a $100 towing fee and $20 per day but when we got there to pick up the car, they told us it was actually $70 per day and tried to get us to pay $250! It was only there for two days, and they wouldn't tell us where the extra $10 they were tacking on came from. Never dealt with such obstinate people before. When asked how they could quote one price and charge us another they said it was because they're a locally owned business. The only reason they're getting ANY stars is because the tow was at an awkward angle and they still got it.

Terrible rude employees and over charging! $205 cash to get my car back! Parked at my daughter's apartment several times with no problems on a weekend when there is plenty of parking- where I pay the rent to boot! Could not go to church because granddaughter's car seat was clearly in back seat. These people have no mercy. And charged for 2 days even though they only had the car less than 12 hours. I would give them a negative five stars if allowed.

I'm only giving one star because I have to. If you could give them negative stars, I would. The lazy douchebag who towed my car, towed it because my permit was in a different spot. No where was it ever said on a sign, lease, or even verbally spoken, that I had to put my parking permit in a certain spot. He noticed it wasn't where most people had theirs and was too lazy to get out of his truck to look. So, he towed my car and wanted $200 to get it back because it was a Sunday. When I called about it they accused me of breaking into the lot to put on a new sticker, said that my apartment manager spoke to me on the phone about this before I moved in (we did not), and said they can't release my car till they look at the security footage. The "men" there clearly have no balls because they let the woman fight the battle while they sat on their fat, lazy butts in the back. It was a horrible experience, it clearly happens a lot, and they need to be shut down. They had a sign in there that said they built their business from the ground up. Yeah, they did, by illegally stealing people's cars and demanding their hard-earned cash. I hope no one ever has to deal with these morons ever again and they should thank their lucky star, God, charm, whatever, that my dad was not present. Worst place ever.

Potentially illegal business that will scalp you for as much money as they can. Visiting a friend, I parked my car in their apartment's parking lot overnight. Not only was the parking lot virtually empty through the entire night (so I was not inconveniencing any drivers with permits), it was a Saturday night, and the first night I parked there - surely they won't go through the trouble of towing me. Especially when it might upset the guest I'm visiting, they'll probably give me the benefit of the doubt for one night. Turns out the towing company they contract, JR Enterprises, takes it upon themselves to go through every parking lot daily, and tow any car they see without a permit, no questions asked. They don't even contact the rental company first. And after a few hours of not getting through to them on the phones, I was finally able to pick my car up the same day - for nearly 200 dollars. 85 is the law limited impound fee. They also threw on 40 for transit, 20 as a per-day impound fee (my car was only there for around 6-8 hours), and 45 for "after hours" pick up - because it was Saturday. After hours my ass. The company actively monitors every parking lot they contract DAILY, INCLUDING WEEKENDS, and has the gall to charge an "after hours" fee for weekend pick ups. They probably work harder on those days. They have a rundown warehouse in the middle of nowhere as their office, and their idea of an impound is to literally make a circle with their employee's cars, and park yours in the middle of it. No fence. Their invoice contained misspelled legal information and did not have the complete information of the car on it either. I'd seek legal action over this mis-documented and illegal towing job, if I wasn't dirt poor as it is. A decent human being might have left a ticket on the car telling it to be moved in a day (which it would have been) or it would be towed. But they clearly have no human decency. They saw cash and towed my car the first chance they got.

I have been parking in the same spot periodically for 5 months, and I never had a problem. Seeing as it is permit parking, I'm willing to take some of the blame. However, I'd like to know why it took them so long to check this particular lot, which is at least 50% empty every time I park there. After parking my car at my boyfriend's just before 11pm on Friday night, I went to get my car this morning around 11am only to find it missing. Sure enough it had been towed by this shady company. No warning or notification given. We called to retrieve it and they told us it would be $205 to pick it up, cash only please. When I got to their "office" (basically a hidden hole in the wall), I asked to see a summary of the fees. $20 "per day storage"-they charged me $40 because the car was towed before midnight and sat in their parking lot until noon the next day- and an additional $45 dollars for after hours pick up, despite there being two staff on site already and despite the fact that it would have been more expensive to hold it there over the weekend. I should also note that the per day storage fee and the after hours pick up fee were written in with pen, instead of being typed up with the rest of the receipt. So, I'm lead to believe that at least $85 of my charges were completely arbitrary. This company is an absolute scam.

They towed my car from my own spot! And were unwilling to reason. They take cash only and do not accept checks or credit/debit cards. Business model is based on predatory towing and making a quick buck, especially from college students who are not exactly rolling in wealth. Charged a high price of 185 USD. 45 USD after hours release and 20 USD for keeping the care for less than 10 hours. I wish someone teaches this company a richly deserved lesson. Partly the resident complexes are also to be blamed for having unreasonably strict and unfair towing and parking policies. I am sure that they too take a share of the profits.

As with a previous poster my car was towed from my son's apartment. They dragged the car, flat spotting the tire. I spent 190 dollars to replace the tire. JR Enterprises won't give me any compensation. Horrible woman on the phone. I live out of town and it is impossible to make a small claims Cort appearance so Im out that money too. They do the towing on Saturday night to get the most money from the people they tow. You pay 45 to get the car that night or the next day Sunday. Or you can wait till Monday and they charge 20 for "storage". I hope what goes around comes around for these people.
