This place has cool and odd items from around campus.. have used bikes.. computers, tvs , kitchen utensils.. cabinets, shelves, some clothung, hats... And some things I don't even know what they are after reading the description...
So glad the university has this place for students and others.
I would recommend this place to have different pricing for student and general public. Not all students can make it first in the morning and locals seems to here lined up when doors open and pick good items. Students have classes. Why not price things a lil higher and then give students discount to benefit them? Or at least the public would be friend a student in this process to get discount. :)
Seen same in other corporate stores where badge had to shown.
We have found deals on everything from shoes to furniture. We try to stop and check it out several times a year. If you time it right you can find deals on larger size football cleats.
Where can you buy a nice, used desk for $25? Or a used laptop for $50 or $75? Why, at Purdue University Surplus! They also carry odds and ends and curiosities. Need some stage lighting? They might just have it. Check it out!
Haven't even been there yet and I'm giving you one star. Monday through Friday noon to 4:00? How is anybody with a full-time job supposed to work around that?
Nice assortment of office supplies and Purdue sporting goods! The customer service is friendly and helpful. Prices are way better than those you find in Walmart.
They have old computer systems without the hard drives for as little as $32.I got a Dell tower unit that had Windows 8 on it at one time that I'm using offline. They have other electronics there too.
If you're there at the right time like we were then you can get some great deals. We ended up getting a North Face winter jacket for $1 among other items.
Great place for cheap older office furniture, computer supplies, and possible Purdue apparel (varies). Usually nothing spectacular, but always can find decent monitors, chairs, desks, tables, etc.
Lillie the cashier was very helpful, especially since store was so busy . She answered all my questions in a non rushed manner. Store is well organized.
They have a wide variety of items for sale at great prices, including home furniture, office tables, computers, desktops, overhead projectors, and even some vinyl records. Great place to buy unusual things. Keep in mind that there are no refunds. Recently I bought a projector there for 800 bucks and it was pretty much DOA in no time. Learned a good lesson on that.
I liked my visit. There are plenty of office supplies at a cheaper cost than a retail store. They have Purdue clothing from various sports. They have lost and found clothes, books and water bottle. It's a surplus store, so depending on your needs they may have it.
Although they mostly (or maybe exclusively) sell surplus university equipment, furniture, etc. (hence the name), there are a lot of hidden gems here that you can repurpose. I bought this mail sorting cabinet thing, I'm not sure exactly what they're called, but it makes for a great modular storage unit since the shelves can be moved around to create hundreds of different configurations. Of course there's also a bunch of old lab equipment that maybe someone has a use for but aren't really aimed at a general audience, but it's definitely worth a visit. Their inventory is constantly changing but they're active on Facebook so you can see what's newly arrived. Highly recommend!
If you're looking for that certain something, especially if it's office related, this place is sure to have it! I got a great deal on a sturdy folding table just last week! Even if you're not looking for anything it's fun to look around. Cash or card accepted.
Interesting place to visit periodically. They usually have office chairs, filing cabinets, desks and computer equipment. However, you never know what else will be there. We've got some real good deals on lab equipment, whiteboards and various oddities.
Fantastic place to pick up some old tech, furniture, or just random knick knacks. You usually have to keep an eye on their Facebook page for the best drops though, and sometimes the good items run out pretty quickly. I got a solid 1080p 22" monitor here that I've been using for over a year now
I bought a computer for my Child. It was a Dell laptop computer. The brain of the computer was removed so I had to go to computer place that is up the hill from Triple X. I found that the laptop computer wires decent but the keyboard really didn’t work well. So we had to get another keyboard. I would recommend this place to friends and family.
Great finds for afforable prices. Most things are pretty good quality, esp. furniture. Found a great chemistry lab cabinet that we converted into a desk for me. Opening hours can be hard to for into a typical mom schedule, as it is open mostly in the afternoons.
Love coming in here. It's always fun to see what new things are available. You could come here a couple days a week. The inventory changes often. The prices are very fair, with most things listed for around half of what you would pay on Ebay or similar. Computers for $25-300, LCD monitors for $10-50, furniture, test equipment, industrial supplies, all kinds of crazy stuff!
It's got good deals on used items from campus. They have lots of bookcases, chairs, desks, filling cabinets, tables, a million computer monitors, and lots more. The hours are tricky, but if you can get there during their limited hours you can get a deal.
We purchased a Purdue University vehicle through the online Surplus Store auction. It was a very good vehicle. Well maintained. Some rough body places in and out. But overall a good deal for our needs.
