I have taken metal there three times. It is a great way to turn your scrap metal trash into cash. I have always had someone assist me in unloading my pick-up.
They do not even put the bucket on the scale all the way. I went back just to get the rest of the metal gone, with out driving far. They closed down for lunch. It was ten till 12 and they guy said they won't be back till one. There is nothing on the website that says they close down for lunch. Why do all the workers go on lunch at the same time? Shouldn't they keep the business up in running? I mean it is the only metal place in town.
Loaded up metal to take to newlon metals and they were closed at 10:15 this morning on a Saturday the website says they're closed at 12:00 raisins like this is why I barely ever go anymore you never know if they're opened or closed
Hell can't even get a hold of them it says they are open til 4:30 today and it's only 3:42 goes right to voicemail and the voicemail is from Thanksgiving of last year saying they are closed til Monday for thanksgiving holiday. Ty for nothing
Regardless of what the overall review is this place is terrible if you’re looking to get money for a decent amount of scrap metal. You WILL get lowballed to the point where it won’t pay for the gas it takes you to get there. Better off going to Hartford City to get a lot more money. Pretty sure this place just takes their scrap there to get what you could’ve got.
They need a better way of weight your scrap. They have you put your scrap in metal containers and i have no way of telling how much the container ways so subtract it from my total weight. I asked how much the container weighs and the guy says he knows how much it weighs but dont so yes the make up thier own numbers and rip you off. I have compared them to other places and i always have made more even if i drive out of town to scrap it.
All in all it's a ok place to go. But I do agree the prices they pay on somethings are way off compared to other places. An I think they should get some kind of better scale set up because u don't know how much the bin's weigh that you put ur stuff in. So how you suppost to know actually the weight you really have

There crooks- tell you one price then hand you the money and find every reason to rip you off every chance they can and either take the money or haul your stuff back
Friendly service quick service run smoothly and a pretty decent location the only downfall is the things accepted in the prices usually somewhat lower than others but they're also farther away so guess it all equals out I the end!
Apparently they close at 4:15 not 4:30. I arrived at 4:16. The bald guy with glasses was extremely rude and said thats why the gate was closed. I said the gate wasn't closed and he might want to change the time on the site. He said they don't have a site and leave they are closed. So, needless to say, I wouldn't even give them a star but I had to so I could comment. If I have to drive to Kokomo I will make a day of it from now on. Don't waste your time with Newlon Metals.
Horrible cheapest place to take your scrap to do not pay the scrap price. they will give you tin price for aluminum also copper they only pay tin prices do not bring your metal or nothing here
