Alissa Schmitt Haaff should not be answering the phone for any business! An absolutely terrible person! I set up my service through addy. Velpen cost more than the other companies but addy was so nice and helpful, because of addy, I went with velpen. When I called to confirm my service and service date, Alissa answered the phone. Her tone, her attitude and her childish behavior is why I wouldn’t recommend their service! A good way to run a business into the ground!!
Good place to haul your unwanted junk. Things have changed from a few years ago. There are a couple guys that offload your truck that pretty much drag everything off your truck bed in a fairly rough manner with no indication of caring. I would have assumed do it myself like it used to be years ago. Granted it's a truck but a lot of it could've been lifted off with a little more grace than scratching one's tailgate all up. The price was, "eh". It ran me around $45 for roughly 200lbs. What I did like was the convenience of being able to get rid of my regular trash along with the junk and not worry about separating the two or taking the trash to a separate recycle center. It cannot be appliances containing freon or old tv's with the tubes. Again, the biggest complaint was the guys offloading. The staff inside the office were pleasant and friendly. All in all, if you need your excess junk and garbage hauled somewhere, Velpen Landfill is a good choice.
They refused to pick up "due to weather." It rained a significant amount, doubling our weight. We were told we wouldn't be charged for the extra time "since that was one them" but ended up being charged due to the excessive WATER/RAIN weight. Doubling our bill. Pretty crooked. Definitely, use a tarp to prevent this. They won't tell you. ;)
Have had a dumpster full called and they were out there so quickly!!! The driver even taught me how to use an old tractor we had!!! Great place, friendly and professional!
If I could give zero stars I would they called me Thursday and said they got some more container in. They ran my card Friday morning told me they would try and have one here Friday they would. If not it would for sure be here Tuesday with Monday being Labor Day. I called them around noon and got told they should still be able to get me one today. Should you told me it would be Tuesday
I seriously cannot say enough wonderful things about Velpen Disposal. We made the switch from city pickup (Jasper) to Velpen a couple of months ago, and the quality of service is unmatched.
This morning, I had an early appt, and we forgot to take the bin out. Our amazing pickup person went to the back for our bin to ensure we got our service this week. I wouldn't even know if we didn't have the doorbell cam! Such a small act of kindness that meant so much! Thank you, Velpen Disposal! Would recommend 10/10
So glad we made the switch from advance to velpen! Always on time and friendly and affordable! Even the office is friendly (and a live person not automated) when we call to pay our bill. Highly recommend to all our friends and family
I just want to say that I have been exceptionally pleased with the service you provide. Your drivers are always on time and very friendly. I am dreading once Odon starts making us go with the disposal service they choose to force us to deal with. It is not fair and I strongly disagree with what they are doing. But untill then, I will continue to use your service. Thank You!
