SCAMMER………. They lie and steal! They stated that my car was in pounded after I totaled it this morning on the toll road. My mechanic went to Whiting few hours after my accident to pick up my car, they told my mechanic that it was $1000 cash. I called Herreras and talked to Drew, (that’s what he said his name was and 99% sure he lied about his last name) he stated the State Police said it was in pounded.
He then lied and said we don’t take credit or debit cards! My mechanic drove over 1.5 hr to get there, just to turn around and go back and get more cash!
I called the State Police and they said that is FALSE that the officer will be contacting them.
I emailed and requested the owner contact me or my husband and have not heard back yet!
Why does their service request have a place for debit/credit card information? Other reviews stated they take debit/credit.
I highly recommend Herreras Towing, they have super friendly service and the price is super reasonable, I thought it was going to take long for them to get there but no, I was asking for the tow trucks ETA when I see him pull up. I thought it was going to be more pricey compared to other companies (yes I’ve had vehicles towed before unfortunately) but no it was reasonable and the driver made me feel comfortable since I was with my daughters and their friend. I highly recommend them ☺️
Towing service was good and tow driver was also good, mechanics and repair shop is where the 1 star is coming from. Had a car towed on a 96 degree day, the shop had us wait 4 hours outside with my 1 year old and 3 month old, after those 4 hours they tell us they did nothing because they can’t do the fix that was needed. I’m sure they could’ve figured that out a lot sooner than 4 hours.
Dave the tow driver gets an automatic 5 star ????? the shop itself is 0 star. Brought our vehicle in explaining the issue, made us wait for almost 4hrs to not even look at it, just to walk back there in 100 degree heat and be told "yeahhh he's not good with computer issues" knowing we had 2 kids under 2 with us and 3 hrs from home and couldnt have just stated it sooner. Very disappointed. Don't recommend the shop. But Dave 100% amazing
If I could rate it any less I would. Have a car towed after being rear ended they applied impound fees on a newer Car for over 700.00 willing to pay it but then they say cash only which is highly suspect and without a proper paper trail hard to recoup that by insurance considering we where the victim of being hit. Tried to seek remedy because the office manager was funny with his comments making remarks like well lean to drive so you don’t get hit and please hold my friend is calling. Ask to speak to boss or owner and was told sorry you can’t speak with my boss or owner he’s in Africa for next 6 weeks. Be warned they seem very sketch we will obviously get our vehicle and filling complaints with service like this they need to be shut down!

My car was damaged while towed without consent. I was charged an outrageous fee for a 2 feet tow when I didn’t give them consent to even tow the car. They would not take Zelle or a card so they can impound my car for more storage fees. I will be filing civil suit.
Reply: There was no clear communication. Your driver should have disclosed the price prior. Better yet, they should have waited for my private tow. Furthermore, you guys should not say in these reviews in on your company profile that you accept cards. $200 could have been paid that day: now, double has to be paid.
My motorcycle was hauled off by Herreras towing following an accident. When my brother picked it up, they had it stored in a building and the cost of the tow and storage was very fair.
Amazing service. Called for a tow to a tire shop in calumet city, and in a matter of 15 minutes, the tow truck was at my location. The owner was professional and efficient. The driver was also very friendly and got the job done fast. Highly recommend this service!
I called them at the last minute and to my surprise they accommodated me with the request I needed. The driver was very polite and thoughtful to my needs. I truly appreciated what they done for me.! Thank you!!!
Company towed my vehicle and per the law is supposed to "PROMPTLY contact the local police agency with jurisdiction of where my car was towed". They did not. Instead I'm thinking my car had been stolen. Then, had to contact the Lake county and Hammond police depts whom then located and discovered my car had been towed by Herrera's towing. Had they of not found my car, I'd still be thinking my car was stolen. Then, the sign says $150 + storage on "Herrera's tow sign". I ended up paying $370 to get my car when my car was there less than 24 hours. Then, I ask the owner's son to call his dad/owner to ask him about the total cost and whats posted on there sign and he refused to call his dad...the OWNER. This place is a scam and will be reported to the Better Business Bureau.
Then, following the owner replying to this review in requesting me to email him directly, he never replies. I've emailed him 3 times and left several call back messages directly to his business. His employees always state he isn't there and will give him the message but he never calls back. His reply to the Google reviews is fake and only does that so it "looks" like he cares and is attempting to correct the issue but in actuality doesn't care and has no professionalism skills. Definitely a poor business and a scam!
This place is a rip off. They charged me for debris that was not from my car on the side of the road. I took extensive photos at the time. My window was also down at the time do the accident and they charged me 150 to cover. Including an excessive amount of admin fees. Do not use this company. The original fee was $700, while they discounted it by 100 dollars they excessive fees were not warranted. I also called them and arranged a tow to another place, they told me my car was at one location when in reality it was at another. I was clear in my ask and they were not great communicators regarding the process. If you are ever in an accident call your own tow and wait for it and do not allow state police to call this company. It is your legal right to call your own.
These guys are ?! Professional, compassionate, patient! Today, they’ve helped a friend who was in dire straits! Now, she’s on her way back to work! Thank you Herrera’s Towing!
It's a vibe there. My car was fixed in one day. Plus they're out with their tow trucks all day long and can tow your car anywhere usually within 30 minutes.
Most rude meat lady ever tried to charged me 100$ for a lock out and then she told me it would be a different price is I got it later and then I asked she told me no and told me she has someone else on the line and find the 100? Know g I told her I don’t have 100 only like 60$…
Staff very helpful and friendly. Vehicle was located at a separate location from their card. But was only five min down the road.
Hours of operation to access your vehicle are not the most convenient. Don't get off work until 4:30 and they close at 4.
Had a flat tire on the Indiana toll road and had to wait on the shoulder, the tow truck came very promptly and the gentleman took good care of my car, he explained the whole process with great detail. 10/10 would recommend, the price wasn’t terrible either
I had difficulty with my 2015 Ford 250 Transit Van. The van engine stopped running after I pulled it out of my garage. I couldn't get it restarted. I called Herreras Towing. Gabe Sr sent his driver Joe to help me. He towed my van to their shop Herrera Air One Service Repair. They were able to move it, 5 guys had to push the van carefully into the garage work area. Joe, Rick, Harry,Jorge and Buddy Gabe Jr got it into the rack inside. The Van is a high-top 9ft 8in and 18 ft Long it is a big truck. I was Glad it fit inside. It is hard for me to get service because it is oversized. The mechanic Gabe Sr, Jorge and Rick preformed engine diagnostics to find the issue to fix my van. They found that a fuse blew that controlled the fuel pump. This stopped the engine from restarting, they fixed it. They all helped me feel so much better. I am thankful for all their help, time and care. They all did a Great Job! I always see them helping so many other people. They all work together to get the job accomplished. Thanks again.
My car died on me in the skyway. The Chicago police or the toll authority called for tow truck. I was expecting the worst and to be fleece. I think the driver name was Angele who showed up. The dude was the most friendly laid back person I met in long time. He told me what to do and what what would. It all happened exactly as he said. Even in the office an at yard where my car was stored the people were friendly and extremely helpful. I would give them 6 stars if I could. If you need tow don't hesitate to call this company!
Definitely recommend! We came to Chicago from Indianapolis for the weekend had some car trouble and got stranded at the toll plaza. Herrera’s Towing came out with a flat bed and towed my car into their shop for repairs. The tow driver also recommended a hotel and gave me, my husband and our children a ride to the hotel. Great place!! Great tow drivers!!
Absolutely horrible service. Claimed to take 30 minutes to get to my car but actually took over 3 hours and had to end up cancelling due to not being able to make it to the mechanic in time. The lack of professionalism and time management is ridiculous. I do not recommend this service to anyone.
I called to have my minivan towed to Sam’s and they were very quick to respond. Joshua was very careful since it’s on flat tires and very professional during our whole interaction. I would call them again if I need assistance. My own insurance company couldn’t find me a tow. I’m glad they were available, affordable and he was careful and courteous- even to the other drivers in the parking lot trying to maneuver around the tow truck.
Very very unprofessional. I went to pick up my car today and they gave me a second price which was $150 more than the first amount. The lady at the front desk was not trying to hear anything we had to say as if we were not there the day of the car accident. She started raising her voice at me and my mother while we kept calm. They will try to jip the most money out of you and don’t care. 0/10 would never recommend.
AMAZING customer service! I was stranded on the Skyway with a flat tire Sunday evening. Mr. Herrera arrived promptly and towed me to his shop where he and his associate changed my tire and schooled me on driving on the spare, as well as purchasing a new tire. He was very professional and kind with a wonderful sense of humor!
We had Rob come help us out to tow our car to our home a few blocks away. He was very friendly over the phone and in person. If we ever need a tow again we will give them a call and hope to have as great service!
Was having electrical issues and lost all power in a toll plaza. Scary. I was so worried and the toll plaza staff called Herrera's to give me a tow. The driver was very nice and professional and safely loaded up my car while my child and I sat in the truck's cab which was clean and comfortable. He gave me my options of where I could be towed to and I opted to go to their shop. The mechanic immediately looked at my car, diagnosed and repaired it within 30 minutes and got me safely back on the road. I thought it was a fair price for the tow and repair. Glad to have it all taken care of. Do not want to have to go through that again. Thanks guys!
Let’s talk about the rudest customer service ever encountered. The receptionist sounded like she hated her life. My vehicle was towed on a Saturday. I tried to get it out on Sunday, of which I was informed their business was closed. I had to pay an extra day for storage fees. I had also left my wallet in the car and when I got it back I found that $300 had been taken out of my wallet. Horrible company. Never use again.
My truck and trailer died on the side of the road on July 4th. This nice man stopped, dragged me to some place safe and would not take any tip for his service. Incredibly nice and kind people. Would suggest to anyone anytime for an emergency or for planned service. Herrera's towing reminds me that the world still has kind people.
People in this place are very nice. They towed my car from the highway, and helped repair the car at reasonable price. Six days later we go to their shop to get the car, all was set, and they didn't even charge for the parking fee, which is surprising for us. They didn't take our advantage even though we know nothing about the car.
Herrera's towed me last night off the Indiana Toll Road. Another towing service kept breaking promises, but Herrera's arrived in the middle of a snow storm right when they said they would. They were courteous and helpful, and their service helped me make the best of a difficult situation. I will be using their repair service today and will update my review based on that side of the business.
