I had an awesome experience with this company. They had to two my truck three times & all three times my experience went well! I would definitely recommend this tow company.

I had a great experience with 1st Response. The dispatcher was very professional on the phone and the driver showed up fast! Alex was a big help and very knowledgeable on my situation. I would highly recommend this company, if in need of a tow!

Had a flat on I80 with run flats and no spare. It wasn’t Drivable. Don’t believe the hype. Anyways, Ray tows us to a shady cash only 24 hour shop (not his choice). Instead of dropping and running, he stuck around to make sure we were good to go and weren’t being taken advantage of. Ray is an awesome driver that clearly cares about the welfare of his customers. I offered a cash tip for the extra care he took with us but he refused, only asking that we left a good review with our insurance company. That isn’t enough for me so I am leaving this google review as well.

Got my car towed after an accident. Car stayed in their lot over the weekend before being sent to the mechanics shop. After I got my car back, there were several items missing including $150 prescription sunglasses, a dash mounted smartphone holder, golf balls from my golf bag, and a 2 year old lottery ticket that is now expired. If you plan on getting a tow from this company, make sure you take everything possible out of your car, or it will be stolen.

Wish I could leave a no star review. Was almost ran off the road by one of their trucks. Called dispatch to complain about the driver and the dispatcher got an attitude with me when I called to report the driver. And then began to argue with me about the trucks location and proceeded to hang up. Talk about low class service and we want them in our time of need?

Thank you for all you and your team do! Also, I truly appreciate how Cindy and Emmanuel went above and beyond to get me safely home when I got a flat tire on the tollway! Wonderful customer service and care. Even the owner, Tammy was so comforting and helpful! It really meant a lot! Thank you again!

Had a issue where title was in the glove box. In order to get vehicle out I needed the title to obtain tow release. Was told that I could either give them the title + 300 cash to retrieve my personal property or go get the tow release. Informed them I needed to have title and they brushed it off. The owner was rude and when informed of the attorney general office advising a report to be made for predatory business practices she suggested I go that route and hung up. The tow cost was $250 + 6 days of storage comes to $550 total but demand $1050 for the release, claiming it was "recovery" fees + "administrative" fees?

1st Response illegally towed my car from a private property then billed me $1100. When I tried to work with them on this issue they were very rude and combative. They basically stole my vehicle and informed me there was nothing I could do about it. Beware of this company. They are a high priced scam owned by criminals.

I called to have my car towed to a shop. they quoted me $140. The driver showed up and charged me $220. Demanded cash right then and there and said it was an extra $80 for jumping my car. I asked for a receipt for insurance and it only said $140, so this thief pocketed those $80. I explained the situation to the office multiple times and they keep saying that they'll call me back, that the owner isn't there, etc... It's been weeks now and they are clearly giving me the run around. Who knows how many people this thief has stolen from, and the company is doing nothing about it. One wonders if they are in on it themselves at this point. Their lack of action is very concerning. If I learned that one of my employee was lying and stealing from my customers I'd be livid and I'd make it right as soon as possible. 0/10. Terrible. Would not recommend.

They were chosen as a tow service through my insurance, they went to tow my son's car from Indiana State in Terre Haute to bring it home here in Hammond, we were willing to pay their price, unfortunately the tow truck broke down and now they're waiting on another truck to come and take his car down and put on a new truck to get them home, they're waiting with the tow truck driver for the last couple of hours waiting on the side of the road completely iinconvenienced and quite honestly not safe and when I asked would the price be adjusted, the dispatcher treated me like it was my fault. THEIR truck broke down and has my children on the side of the road! I would NEVER use this company again and will make sure GEICO knows the type of company they partner with for roadside assistance!!

Terrible service! I would not recommend! They chose my tow through Roadside Assistance with an ETA of 2hrs. That was fine. At the 2hr mark, I called the manager for an update and was told they were running late with no ETA. Called at the hr late mark and manager said he would call me back after speaking with the driver. Called at the 2 hr late mark and manager placed the call on hold and canceled the trip! The autoshop has been waiting for my car since 8am and it is now 12pm. Have to wait for a new tow company. Never again will I work with the business!

1st Response (Yes 1st with the 1, same phone number and EVERYTHING.) Dropped my car into a ditch & tried to lie about it!! When I called the company the manager tried to ARGUE WITH ME. Luckily they lied the entire time, and even the pics they provided supported out story, so they ended up being responsible for everything. They're permanently saved in my phone as the $hi++y towing. I wouldn't trust these people with my sons toy car. I recommend you find literally anyone else.

On Dec 16th my car was rear ended. I had to have it towed. Not only did the driver not notify me but decided to take my car to their lot and not the destination I chose. My families gifts were stolen and my glove compartment was damaged. They took 2 back bones 4apple air tags and my soldiers gift to her dad. I called and left several messages and no response. I called again today to be yelled at and told they have signs SAYING NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THEFT.

I had my truck towed through my insurance and once it arrived at the shop the driver pulled the truck up to far and smashed my lightbar and front bumper so I contact my insurance company and filed a claim once the claim was filed I got a phone call from the tow company threatening me. Now as for your question yes it's the one where it is spelled 1st response towing not the other company as you claim and I still have the number that called me I can put it up here so you can know for sure who in your company called and threatened me. Would that work for you Roger?

They had my car for two weeks, and “fixed” the problem. Changed my alternator, starter, and battery for 1300. Only for my car to die out 3 days later after they “fixed” my car problem. Come to find out, I had a recall on my engine which is why my car wasn’t working. Shouldn’t they of known that? 1300 down the drain. Don’t use this company look elsewhere.

On February 12th my insurance contacted First Response Towing and Recovery through Roadside Assistance. It took the driver almost 2 hours to arrive to my location. After he showed up to help tow my car I warned him that my car was super rusted, and he probably shouldnt hook up to my frame, especially since i had sturdier things that he could hook the pulls up to. He still proceeded to hook it up to my frame and pull. I watched him climb under my car, take a photo, and then walk up to the house i was standing in. I stepped outside to speak with him, thinking he maybe just couldn't get it the first time and wanted to speak with me. He then explained that something on my car frame "slid out of place," and, "it isnt totalled, but it is damaged," and then he flashed the picture at me for just a quick second before putting his phone away and saying, "I cant do anything to help. You have to call someone else." Before he hightailed it away from me, and away from my car. I had to call my roadside assistance back for another tow truck, and when I explained what happened, the redirected me back to my insurance. I now have to file a damage claim, and see what's actually wrong with my car frame. I missed a day of work to deal with this whole situation, and I may have to miss more if my car is significantly damaged. I am afraid to drive for fear that my car may either get more damaged, or that it could cause an accident because of the damages that the employee caused.

I worked with First Response through my Audi roadside assistance. They appeared earlier than expected (30 minutes) and the driver was very friendly and proficient. He even made sure to leave my car right next to the dealership garage, so it wasn’t driven any more than necessary on a blown tire and broken wheel. I never leave reviews, but wanted to make sure I shared my personal experience this time.

Called with State Farm to bring my vehicle back home. Parked backwards on a one way street and personal items now missing. Dispatcher was nice enough but if first impressions are key, I've put them on my highly suspect list. As a driver myself I know full well wreckers have certain leeway when it comes to recovery to ensure an ideal outcome, even if it means temporarily going the opposite direction to place vehicles in the proper position. There were several ways to accomplish this including pulling into the driveway directly next to my house. So here's to hoping I don't get ticketed before payday....

This was the second time towed by this company through state farm and both times they arrived under 45 min. The recent tow was 30 min (wow) he was close. Clean truck, two different drivers n both was cool. No company is perfect but both experience was good for me

We had such a wonderful experience with this company! We got stranded with a flat tire late on a Friday night and they were prompt to get there and quickly fixed it for us! They stuck around to make sure everything was okay while we drove around a bit! Thomas and his coworker were very friendly and professional. We would highly recommend using this company!

After sitting and waiting for 2 1/2 hours! 1st response did not tow my vehicle! I'm very displeased with the service from this towing company, after explain to the driver upon arrival the vehicle is enoperative and won't start because the battery is dead, he tries to start the vehicle anyway. Then tells me you can find another towing service! All because I asked why would you try to start the truck? When I explained it won't start, he says again find another towing service! I responded with I appreciate you wasting 2 1/2 hours of my time. Very unprofessional company will not ever use their services again.

Wowzers what an evening. So let's talk about how we got to use the towing company. I reached out to my Insurance company due to my vehicle being stuck in my backyard. After an incredibly disappointing experience with the first towing company that was dispatched, these folks were the backup team. I was told their response time was going to exceed 90 minutes. I looked at the reviews for this company and my heart sank. I read about how rude and unprofessional several representatives were. I started to make alternative arrangements in the interim. I received the confirmation text for their arrival.upon calling them I was told they would arrive in 20 minutes. Well I halted my alternative plans. The driver Ray showed up and we intimated a plan. Within 30 minutes The truck was unstuck and I was relieved. Ray exhibited a professional manner and was down to earth with eagerness to help. I expressed my gratitude with Ray and his contribution towards the evolution.

Terrible service you should be allowed to leave zero stars. The first guy seemed upset he was coming to get my car and was unprofessional. I was told they could take my car without the key which is done anytime you park illegally for example and your car is towed. The driver told me I don’t know why they told you that. I said fine leave it I’ll wait until I can make it there later. He tells dispatch something else entirely. Later they didn’t make the time they scheduled to be there. So I called they gave me a new window didn’t make that time so finally State Farm called me and pressured them to hurry and get to my vehicle. Then this guy once he finally gets there tows my car to its destination and leaves the key in the ignition. Now the key won’t come out because the battery may be drained. This company is sorry

First response? I contacted OnStar for a tow at 1:30pm, by 1:40 I already knew the tow truck company coming to get us was 1st response towing. I'm still waiting, it's 3:13pm and I've already missed my service appointment for my car. At least the guy that got to us was nice

They responded fast that is the only reason I'm giving them one star. Roadside Assistance sent them out. The tow driver had an attitude when he got out of the truck. He had the nerve ask, why didn't the tire get put back on the vehicle. If it was that simple, I would not have called for a tow? Irrelevant!! The tire came off as I was driving. So, That would have been Impossible!!!! He was asked to perform his job. Got mad got in the tow truck flatbed and drove off. Called the company Frank dispatch said to call Road Side for another provider and hung up on me! True story call recorded! Don't let roadside assistance send them as a provider. Especially in the winter, they may leave you out in the cold like me.

Brian was just here to tow my car, and he was incredibly informative about what our next steps need to be. He was also very friendly despite the long hours of work he had previously due to short staffing. Instead of towing the car, he helped to start it and recommended several places for repairs. Brian saved the day, and I’m so thankful because this is one of the last days I get to spend with my family before moving to England. Without his help, today’s plans would have been lost. We are so thankful for his efforts and will definitely request First Response or recommended them to others for help in the future!

This was my car insurance roadside assistance's provider. It took 75 minutes for a tow truck to show up at 3am. Then I was taken to a different service provider than initially indicated by my insurance provider. The tow driver did not have the service provider's information or even know where the vehicle was going and asked me to ride along and provide him directions to the place that he was told it should go because he did not have cell phone signal. I did so and rode with him to drop the vehicle off. But the driver would not return me to the place I broke down (a populated area where I was spending the night in a hotel due to being from out of town) because "his boss won't let" him. So I had to walk almost two miles back to my hotel at 4:30 in the morning in 30 degree weather. I will be complaining to my insurance provider and requesting they consider dropping this company from their roadside assistance program. Do not use this company at 3am unless you want them to abandon you at a closed location and leave you stranded in the cold. Poor customer service and care for humanity.

Their website says that "they take pride in their commitment to the satisfaction of their customers," that was definitely not the case. A few weeks ago I had a couple of flat tires. They gave me a tow, spent some time on my car, sold me a used tire, and got me on my way. I was grateful until about 30 miles down the road when the used tire blew. I decided to put on my spare and get on home. Upon inspection of the tire it was clear that it should never have been put on my car, very weak sidewalls, visible tear marks, and the obvious blowout. I immediately called 1st Response to tell them about what had happened and even sent pictures of the torn tire. They did not care at all, "a used tire is a used tire," I was told. Once I made it home I purchased new tires and showed the guys at the shop the used tire that I was sold, they could not believe that it was put on my car because of how clearly dangerous it was. Again, I tried to get my money back from 1st Response, again I saw that they will do anything for a buck. Poor customer service, poor business model, greedy, and selling dangerous products. If you need a fix I would not go with these guys unless you want to fix your problem again. If you do, do not buy a used tire from them, dangerous.
