When they impounded my car I tried to sign the title over so I could get my work tools out of my truck and they basically said they didn't feel like doing the
paperwork and tried to charge me over 200 dollars after one day at the impound. It was put on a flatbed for NO REASON the keys were sitting on the dashboard all I did was slide into a snow Bank going under 20miles an hour (UPDATE )When I brought my title over to your Muncie branch the clerk outright refused to take the title and I had over 2000$ in construction tools in my trunk that I was not allowed to get back. they said it was totaled when I know for a fact it just had a flat tire and a dead battery and I was told multiple times that they wouldn't take the title because they didn't want the car. Because of this I lost my job and my home. I can't work if my tools aren't in my possession and the person I talked to outright didn't care and basically told me to get lost. I'll never go to Northwest towing again. Update because of this I lost everything and I'm still trying to recover years later since the car was reported totaled I can't even do door dash
It's never a good thing when you need a toe truck to haul your vehicle somewhere, however my recent experience with Northwest was exceptional with transporter Luis. Super nice guy. Really showed he cared about our situation. Very professional and was great at what he does. Couldn't ask for a better driver. LUIS, thanks for making this difficult time a better experience. Truly!
I broke down on us 35 had a tow truck coming from Richmond they towed my car before my tow got there was told it will be $455 plus $45 a day how can any one pay that plus my tow truck that came to Muncie was willing to to give title to them anyway it only takes $100 off bill now I could be sued for thousands guess I will have to obtain a lawyer don’t know what else to do
This place has to be 1 of the biggest scam companies that I have ever came across! My GF accidently ran her car over a parking curb in a parking lot as she thought it was an exit! A couple people tried to help her back the car up but the tires were spinning and not getting traction! Anyway I called NW Towing! Thinking that it would be a piece of cake for them to help get her unstuck!
The Lady told me that it would cost $65 just to have them come out without doing anything but if they had to use the truck that it would be at least $125 on top of the $65! I said, what's the $65 for? She said that's just to drive over to the scene but if we wanted them to actually help us that the prices started at $125!
Hell Doctors don't charge that much just to see them! And they actually do something!
My cousin got in a wreck and the Muncie police called Northwest Towing, who came and got his car taking it to their lot. He didn't have the money to get it out, so they are charging him $50 a day, making it even more expensive each day!
I've used other tow companies over the years and NOBODY takes advantage of their customers MORE than Northwest!
I'm still in Awe that they charge $65 just to have them drive a few miles with their Truck without doing any work whatsoever! Then they couldn't even give me a set price to get my car out! She said it starts at $125 for them to actually do something, but it could be more! She couldn't give me a price until they were finished! It's absolutely ridiculous to pay them $65 just to show up! Hell at least Plumbers and HVAC experts include labor in their initial fee! In other words U actually get a service performed when u call them out!
U better be praying that U don't need Northwest Towing for any reason unless u have 3 jobs and you win the lottery!
Yesterday, I accidentally locked my keys in my car and requested service through my insurance. My service request wasn’t scheduled until 45 minutes later, but I was perfectly fine with waiting. Not even 5 minutes after that, I got a call from Larry with Northwest Towing. He was just wonderful! He was professional, efficient, and got the job done quickly! Most of all, I appreciated his patience and kindness towards me (I was a little bit nervous since I had never had to request a service before). I would recommend this company to anyone in the Muncie area.
Highway Robbery! Charges $230 when a car is towed. No matter the situation. No matter if the person that called for a tow made a mistake. Company is a huge scam
Watched a van get towed from the Wendy’s on McGalliard around 2:45pm today. The tow truck driver allowed the family, including 2 young children, ride in the van while it was being towed.
I called Northwest to notify them of this because I’m extremely worried about the safety of the children & their excuse was “well, they aren’t going far”. When asked to speak to a supervisor about this I was hung up on.
So I called this place a few days ago because they are withholding my personal belongings they told me that I would have until Sunday to pay them $500 to get my belongings or they will sell my car even though they do not have the title to the car. I refuse to give them the title until I am allowed to get my belongings and I also went to the building a few weeks ago and they only told me it was $300 but now a few days ago when I called they said it’s now $500 and if I don’t pay them soon and give the title they will just sell the car on Sunday even though I know they can’t legally sell my car without the title to it I am frustrated with this company over not being able to get my school items and personal belongings
Called in for a quote lady at the desk who answered hung up on me when i said hi good morning im calling for a quote then i called back said the same thing and she just said wait then when she got back to me she just sounded like she hated her job and as if i was annoying her with my call she was so rude anytime she didn’t understand she would so rudely say “what!” Then as soon as she got all my information she just said ill send a driver and when i said excuse me i was calling for a quote she sounded bothered put me in a brief hold and gave me a ridiculous price for 2 mile tow and said it was an estimate so could me more like why ? I gave you all the info so i can get a price not a guess … any way called around and got a way better price and 1000 % better service from nye wrecker … which will be deserving of 5 star review northwest you need better customer service they are the face of the company if thats how its at the beginning i cant even imagine how the rest of the service is.
Jeremy was really great. He was professional, helpful and genuinely concerned about our welfare. Great work and got us safely back on the road. I highly recommend this towing service.
Chris arrived faster than eta. He was very kind and was very helpful. He jumped my battery and it started right up! I thought it needed towed to be fixed. He had such a pleasant disposition and made a very cold, rainy, nervous situation much better. I will call for him again if I ever need assistance. I’m very thankful for Chris!
Called AAA on Christmas night with a damaged tire. AAA was out within 20 minutes with Chris doing the service. He was extremely courteous and professional.

Chris was amazing. As a single mom with no help, he was willing to go above & beyond to make sure my son & I were safe. Not only was he helpful, he made the experience super enjoyable. He let my kiddo (who loves tow trucks) help get my car on the truck. Give Chris a raise!! I was going to be stuck, but Chris made making sure me & my son were safe instead of ditching us. I originally asked to have my spare put on my car, but he didn’t feel safe putting it on. Changed it to a tow & made sure we got where we needed to be. Thankful for Chris, especially around Christmas time
I wrecked my truck Sunday and had no insurance. My bank card. Social security. Title of the truck. Birth certificate. My one and only house key & mailbox key that I’ll have to pay $25 to get another one. My inhaler and medication is all in the vehicle and they will not allow me to get anything out of my vehicle until the balance is paid off. I’m already struggling financially and they are charging me 350$ just for the tow. 40$ a day.
Yesterday was a very not so good day & at the end of the evening, I hit a curb & popped my tire. I have AAA & they sent Northwest Towing out to change my tire. They were quick to respond. The gentleman, Chris, they sent out, was not only very professional & informative, he was also very chill & handsome I must say. LOL After changing my tire, he explained all the risks for driving on a doughnut. And before I knew it, he had me laughing and almost all my anxiety was no more. I hope if I ever need help again, our paths cross again. Northwest, this man is an AWESOME asset to your company, especially after reading some of these negative reviews, I am very pleased that I can give some positivity.

A cracked alloy wheel near Muncie, Indiana interrupted our trip from Ohio to Illinois on Labor Day. After determining it was not practical to find a shop able to repair the wheel in a timely way, we no longer had a plan. Chris with Northwest was at the right place at the right time for us. Chris's confident, caring manner assured us that placing our trust in him was the right decision. Within the hour Chris was on his way transporting our car. Chris provided the solution we needed get to our destination. Chris's call after delivering the car to our preferred service center 280 miles away on a holiday gave us even more peace of mind.
On August 21,2023 my wife Beth had a blowout on her way to work. I called Northwest and ask if someone could change her tire. I talked to Melinda, the dispatcher. I ask if a driver could be at my wife’s workplace when she got off and meet her in the parking lot. Devon “43” was waiting and ready to help her. Devon changed the tire and she was on her way.
I have to say that both Melinda and Devon “43” were very courteous and helpful. We have known the Holdings over fifty years. Northwest is an excellent service and all the employees are eager and willing to help at any time. Our satisfaction and best regards go out to Melinda, Devon “43” and Harry Holding. Great people, great service and quick response is Northwest Wrecker’s tradition.

I had been serviced by Northwest Towing a few times over the last 5 years through AAA and they have always taken longer than the 60-70 minutes notified waiting time. Some drivers have been courteous, and even helpful, while others just did their job, period. The dispatchers have never been kind or friendly, always just impersonal. This time a person called “Chris” from their office, was plainly RUDE with a total bully attitude. He completely disregarded that someone had been waiting for them to arrive for over an hour AFTER they said would be there to provide the service and wouldn’t take time either to seek clarification on the situation the scheduled pick up was under with AAA. He plainly negated the service after yelling at me on the phone with an absolute pedantic attitude.
This company has very poor customer service as well as towing service. They told us that the estimated wait would be an hour and it took them two and a half hours . I called the office three times and the lady that answered the phone was not professional whatsoever. She was continuously laughing and giving me attitude and kept telling me the tow truck was on their way each time but yet every time we asked it was always “ 30 mins away “ . I would advise anyone to never use this towing company !
This place took a tow call from AAA trying to make us wait for 4 hrs for a tow!!! I would NEVER use this company!!!! Very poor customer service and very unprofessional!!!!!!!! ***I'm updating this post from a 1 to a 3. I had to end up using them in the end because they are the only company in Muncie who takes AAA. The tow driver was so kind and professional when he arrived. It did take every bit of 4 hr for a tow but his professionalism soften the blow for us! Kudos to the driver!
I used Northwest Towing for a tow job for my tractor-trailer, and I was very disappointed with the customer service I received. When I first called them inquiring them for a tow job everything went smooth, however after speaking to the lady dispatcher she kept pressuring me to put a Card on file for payment. I advised her that I've never had a tow job where I give out payment info prior to the job being completed. I told her I would feel more comfortable giving her my Card information after the job is completed. Later on, after the job is completed a gentleman called me to collect payment (rightfully so). However, the tone and attitude that he was using I did not appreciate. He barely let me contact the facility of where the tow job was suppose to delivered to (I live out of state). and was accusing me of "trying to play games." I thank Northwest Towing and the drivers for the towing service provided, but I will definitely reconsider using them again due to customer service.
I was rear ended and taken to the hospital. They towed my truck and had it less then 24hrs and it costed me $300 to get it back. 2 miles from pickup to towing lot. Why do I have to pay so much when the city pays you for the services also? Seems like a scam and price hikes. My truck was fine and I drove it right off the lot. I will be asking for a different company if it ever happens again.
Edited to add in 2022: MARION deserves all the promotions! He changed my tire in less than 5 minutes, was in and out so quick, so friendly for it being midnight on a Sunday. I am so, so happy with northwest towing over and over.
Jeff was AWESOME. He arrived so quickly, figured the issue out super fast and was so polite. Definitely will call this place over any other service.
Amazing service. I have used them prior for a tire issue. I found myself with a vehicle that just died while driving on a busy street in Muncie coming home from the dog park. So not only was I stuck in the middle of the street with a non working car but my dog was with me as well. I called Northwest because I still had their number from the last time I used them. They originally said it could be 30-45 minutes which caused panic thinking about all the p*ssed off drivers who had been honking at me and cussing me out. However they called back immediately and said that they had a guy on their way to me now. He got there within 5 minutes. Not only were they super fast but the tow truck driver, Jeff, dropped my dog and I off at my home instead of making us find another way home. Would highly recommend them to anyone.
I broke down in Gaston, IN near the Petro. No one was willing to assist me with a forklift. Despite all this, they were available 24/7 and had one for recovering freight. All workers including dispatch and driver were assertive and friendly. Everything was done within a reasonable amount of time. The price wasn't bad for the towing and transfer of load plus was dropped at the dealership. I highly recommend these guys disregard the reviews.
Northwest Towing was great to work with. Being in an accident on a busy interstate nearly 70 miles from home is stressful to say the least. Randy came to the rescue in less than 15 minutes of calling. He towed my car all the way home that night for a really goos price. Also, he was very kind to me and my son, giving us a lift off the highway to a safe place; our safety was clearly a priority to him and I really appreciated it. Would call on them again in a heartbeat!
Mike showed up right when he said he was going to be at my mothers house. We needed a car of my sisters towed to my house. This car had been sitting for at least four years and we were unable to get it to start. Mike jumped it with his super pack and got it started! We were able to drive it a bit after he towed it to my house, which hasn’t happened in a long time. He was very friendly, appreciative of any help we offered and joked with us as well. He was even great with my five year old daughter, making her feel included in everything. He was very professional and helpful with the situation we had going on. Thank you mike!
My car died while I was cleaning it at crew car wash. Northwest came to jump my battery. They told me I would need a new battery after they tested it. They said that they sell batteries and can put them in on the spot. The price was cheaper then other places in town. Their manager delivered the battery to my car in under 15 minutes. It was a great experience and I appreciated the good customer service during a stressful situation.
Please do yourself a favor and NEVER hire this company.I should have consider all other "1 star" reviews, before I called this number. Just one star, is way too much for this company.
I want to advise other potential customer (victims) to avoid this unpleasant situation.
I called NW Towing and inquire about towing a truck and empty trailer for 35 miles. Hailey said $585, stating that they have a driver ready to hit the road. Based on the availability I agreed to hire them. In order to send a driver Hailey requested credit card info (just to have it on the file) , which raised a red flag. She insisted that this is the standard procedure, I provided it.
After a while, seeing that the towing truck doesn't show up as promised, I called back again. This time Hailey was "not available" anymore, but Dawn offer to help; she said that the driver was on his way to pick up my truck, but the police called them and asked them to remove a wreck from the Interstate, and that was their priority now. I could wait for someone else to be available. Another hour went by and supposedly, another driver headed toward our truck. This time would have taken 40-45 min. After other hour and a half I called back again and Dawn said that it would take between half an hour and an hour to get to the place. It was clear to me that if they didn't do it within 4 hours, they would keep lying to me; at this point, I decided to stop this charade. I asked them to cancel the order since they didn't keep the the word. They agreed but they would charge $250 for doing nothing. When I called my bank to stop the payment, I surprisingly found out that they charged the card way ahead of me canceling the service. Once they got the card info, they charged it.
Because of all this delay, I had to pay another company extra charge for getting the service "after hours". If this company wouldn't lie to me, I would have had another company doing the service. They made me missing an appointment at the service repair shop, wasting a full day and paying extra charges on top; they kept promising me that someone is heading towards me, but never showed up. For this only, they charged $250. I am wondering if this company exists for real, do they provide towing services, or they make money only of charging "service fees" for doing nothing.
