Their response is completely misleading and inaccurate.
Yes, I left my trailer in a public lot, but the real issue is the pricing. Their sign clearly states the charge for towing should be $520, but they charged me $700 instead.(I’m gonna put on pictures) My trailer is only 8000 pounds and not over 40 000lbs.
This is an unjustified overcharge.
I called the police twice when the towing happened, but when they arrived, they couldn't help me with the price discrepancy.
They just confirmed I parked in the wrong place, but didn't address the fact that I was being charged much more than I was told.
The company is trying to shift the blame to me for parking improperly, but the real issue is their dishonest pricing and attempts to charge me more than advertised. They are making excuses, but the fact remains I was misled and overcharged.
I will never recommend this company to anyone, and l urge others to be cautious. I've filed complaints and will continue to warn others about this dishonest practice.
This place is most intolerable. I would not recommend it to anyone, unless they are prepared to be grievously deceived. The individuals behind this establishment appear to be nothing more than swindlers, interested only in taking one's money and showing no regard for questions. I deeply regret that I was compelled by the an officer to bring my vehicle here, as I would have handled the matter with far more diligence and care. These people possess neither sympathy nor consideration for other lives. I hope your day goes better than mine. I almost died, was lied to about being able to gather my belongings once it arrived here, and told I have to pay $525 to reclaim what is rightfully mine from my totaled vehicle, they towed 8 miles!! plus they insist on storage charges. I called Maggio Truck Center for a basic tow
— just 10 miles — and they charged me an absolutely outrageous $2,750. No quote was provided beforehand, no paperwork, nothing. They loaded the car and then hit me with the bill like it was normal.
When I asked why the cost was so high, I was met with attitude and intimidation. They said if I didn't pay immediately, they'd impound my car. I felt completely trapped and forced to pay under pressure.
This is pure price gouging and abusive behavior. Maggio is clearly taking advantage of people in emergency situations. I've filed complaints with the BBB, and I'm warning everyone: DO NOT trust this company with your vehicle. You'll regret it.
The worst service I’ve ever experienced in the U.S. This towing company at 4752 Baxter Rd, Rockford, IL 61109 is a complete disgrace.
Totally unprofessional, rude, and dishonest staff. I came to pick up my pickup truck and trailer just to pay the towing fee — instead, they tried to charge me for a completely different trailer with a ridiculous price they made up on the spot. This is pure fraud.
The office workers are disrespectful, yelling, interrupting, and treating customers like garbage. The supervisors are no better — they protect their employees’ lies, ignore the facts, and show zero professionalism. It felt like dealing with a gang, not a legitimate company.
This place should be investigated by the authorities. Their actions seem like organized scamming, abusing their position to rip people off and make extra money however they can.

My reefer unit had a pump issue arise while I was loaded, and they were able to squeeze me in and get me out within 3 hours. Price was fair and they're open when other places are closed on the weekend. I'm appreciative of their work and speed.
Had a leak in the chamber, red service line, and tire was damaged on the trailer. They got me in and out in no time. I love the work they did and to my surprise they took all my dash lights off. Thanks for all your help
Plenty of Semi Parking, no fee I might add. Which is always a plus. Store is big, plenty of nick nacks to choose from. A Coffee and CB shop, Subway and a few slot machines on location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Restrooms were clean. Overall I would stop here again, just bring something to eat.
We had an emergency repair needed for our Class A motorhome. They were highly recommended by another company who wasn’t big enough to tow our rig. They were able to come out, assess the situation, get us to a point where we could drive to their repair shop. Initially they told us it may be a few hours but turned us around quickly. We were in and out within an hour. Was a little pricey but we knew that going into it.
Lots of parking. They got a subway in there and little kitchen of their own. It was pretty clean. I was stuck there for a weekend and had everything I needed to get me thru

I called them for a basic tow of my regular car, and they lied about needing a "truck tow" just to charge me an inflated price. No upfront quote or paperwork, and when I questioned the price, they became aggressive and threatened to impound my vehicle.
This company is a complete scam — they take advantage of people in vulnerable situations. I strongly recommend you never trust Maggio with your vehicle. They are dishonest and predatory.

Broke down on I-39 @ Illinois/Wisconsin state line on a Saturday morning @ 1am. Maggio's took my tractor trailer to their shop and repaired it and I was back on the road in 2 hours! The bill was very reasonable. Would recommend them to anyone. Nick Maggio was the wrecker driver and the one that repaired my truck. Good people.
I received poor service here. I arrived 15 minutes before they closed to locked doors, despite that I called in advance and arranged to meet with them personally. I had another tow driver on the way to meet me at their yard to pick up my vehicle. The female sitting at the front desk (at the front window) wouldn't respond to me calling their phone, nor would she respond to me knocking for ten minutes. She was about ten feet from the window on her cell phone! I paid the tow and storage fee right away even though she was rude to me. To top it off, my car was not in the place she described, which led me to driving around their tow yard needlessly. Unacceptable!
Great service. Ladie that answered the phone was extremely helpful. Service tek came out to 5th wheel. Helped us get tire off, replaced ,then offered to check pressure on others.
We had our travel trailer bearings done by an rv repair company. A large reputable one. However, they messed up on one wheel and we ended up needing new parts and them put on, on a Sunday, Memorial Day weekend. We were desperate and stopped here to see if they could help. They didn’t have the part, but we disconnected from our trailer went to Advance in town got the parts and they put them on. They really had to work to get the parts out of the wheel. We are extremely grateful they were there in our time of need.
Highway robbery charged $525 for a tow after my daughters accident that was 5miles away from their shop. Never let the police take care of the tow companies I feel they got the most expensive one.
My driver was rear ended, police called them for Truck tow, they towed my truck which was driveable down the street from the accident (10miles) charged me $3325. This place shouldn't exist. Bunch of rip offs and ridiculous fees. The truck was at their yard at 8pm and they "couldn't" put the driveshaft until the morning so they can charge me $200 storage for that night. STAY CLEAR of this place by all means. They are not there to help or to treat anybody fairly. Also, they dont take a credit card over the phone so if your efs doesn't allow more than 2k per day, you're out of lock . Picture is attached from the damage. Good luck guys
Great truck stop I park here every weekend for my home time. Great shop to do business with Marty is a good guy and Jeff is as well. And the ladies in the shell are friendly and cordial and they got food in there if you got time to get a hot meal they also have Subway and they also have the DMV inside.
Had the welds on my headache rack fail. Called Maggios. Hector and Gary ( i think) showed up. Had me up and rolling in an hour roadside. They brought appropriate equipment to do the repairs. Had a "CAN DO" ATTITUDE and were quick about the job. They were ROCK STARS in my opinion.
Update: now they saying it will be in the morning, because they can’t get the line to bleed, that it MIGHT” need Master Cylinder???? I mean If you are a good mechanic an good at wht you do ! Wouldn’t you have known it needs that 5hrs ago oh it’s 11:30pm we arrived at 5:00 pm J/S
We have been sitting here since 5pm today, an all they needed to fix was a clutch line. An when they got the part . One guy said they couldn’t fix it today it would be tomorrow. Well I guess they decided they would. Well three hours later it’s still not fixed. It takes 3 ppl to bleed the line , which they haven’t figured out how to do. So we are still patiently waiting. But instead of getting us fixed an down the road. They are all just walking around doing nothing.
