Purchased vehical 1300 miles later the transmission has gone out. So, no, my experience has not been a good one.

I’ve purchased several vehicles from Rural Route Motors over the years, and every experience has been fantastic! Ed truly goes above and beyond to ensure a smooth, personalized car-buying experience. The attention to detail and honest communication are unmatched, and I always feel confident that I’m driving away with a reliable vehicle. If you’re looking to support a hardworking small business and work with someone you can trust, I highly recommend Rural Route Motors. This is my go-to place for used cars, and I’ll continue coming back in the future.

Got my van from here 2 years ago and it's still going strong. Ed's definitely the go to guy for a used vehicle. He doesn't sell clunkers that'll just break down on you after you buy it, he always makes sure his vehicles are worked on before he even puts them on the lot. If for some reason the vehicle you buy ends up with something wrong with it right after buying it, he will make sure it gets fixed. Overall, it is a great dealership and definitely the place that I recommend to people who are looking to buy a used vehicle!!

Small selection, but fair priced and held up their agreement to fix windshield once car was purchased. They let us schedule for a day that we didn't need the car. Salesman was down to earth and didn't try to upsell past our price range.

10/10 do not recommend. I chose to buy from him because my uncle buys most of his cars from here and hasn't had any problems other than small repairs along the way. I bought a 2011 Buick Regal 1.5-2 yrs ago and thought I was buying a good car. It had low mileage, fairly priced and when I test drove it didn’t seem to have any problems. I’ve had this car in the shop more than I’ve had it and have put at least $6,000 into it. I thought maybe it was just my luck another lemon until I took it to my new mechanic. He asked me where I bought it and said that he gets a lot of cars from there with problems.

Ed was very helpful, went in and test drove a vehicle. I voiced my thoughts and concerns on some minor issues, he addressed them on the spot. Made my purchase and couldn't be happier. 10/10 would definitely do future business with Rural Route Motors

!!!BUYER BEWARE!!! While I feel like I got a good deal on my car, it was not worked on properly! They use a mechanic who has no business being a mechanic! He replaced the clutch in my car, but used the wrong bolts which resulted in the flywheel getting damaged as well as the car not shifting correctly. Flywheel, clutch and pressure plate all had to be replaced!!! The mechanic thought it was ok and refused to compensate anything for getting it fixed. Now I’m out an additional $1000. Ed (the dealer) didn’t seem to concerned that his mechanic is a hack. Said he has used him for years with no issues, but if the mechanic knowingly incorrectly installs parts, then my car is not the only one. Word of advice, check the car over GOOD! Take it to a good mechanic and have them drive it, and look at it before you buy it. If any major work has been done to it (like transmission work), I would avoid purchasing it from Rural Route Motors.

Ed and Rural Route made my purchase one of the best of any car new or used I have ever purchased. I actually flew into the nearby Marion airport from St. Louis and Ed picked me up and brought me over to his lot. The car was as described and exactly as expected. When it came time to do the paperwork there were no surprises at all and the price out the door was the price we agreed upon on the phone. I had a small issue with registration in Missouri and Ed really stepped up and chased down some hard-to-find old lien release documents from a loan company that had gone out of business. I found Rural Route an extremely honest, up-front, straight-forward, and reputable car dealer. I would absolutely buy from them again.

The entire experience of buying a car here was extremely enjoyable. Our first stop of the car shop was at Meyer Honda. The salesmen there used sketchy tactics, such as telling us there was another person looking at the exact same car right as we were leaving and not letting us see the total price of the car until we agreed to buy that car that day, the first day our car shopping. Ridiculous. Ed, the owner, was extremely pleasant to talk with and he was not pushy whatsoever. He spent valuable time with us and even stayed open later to make the sale for us and worked with our bank which was causing issues. He gave us a great price and worked with us on every step of the day. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a car to go there.
