All I have to say is this company scams people. They charged me $2,300 to put a belt on my freightliner. Then they would not take a credit card cash zelle or cash app only. What frauds they are.
This place is B.S. I thought I was hiring a local company by the looks of it they where about ½ mile away, but took 4½ hour ta get to me. I was towed mmmaybe 2 miles of that over $1200 come ta find out priority shows up n said that yard that was a ½ mile away was an impound lot n they came from arvadia er something like that 85 miles away. The driver said he was going further west ta get another truck.....but we pay from n back to da shop so at least two drivers paid this crook to go back to the (yard) empty because that second truck was to be towed to da some truckstop as me....love's in Rochelle ill.

They said they were sending someone right away and didn’t show up till 6 hours later. Police eventually showed up and spoke to them and told us to never go through them that this place is known for bad service and not showing up!
I called them to see how long it would be and how much it would be. I just need to get towed in and thawed out they tried to charge $700 more than the next. I would never even call them again! We told them not to come and they tried to come and hook up while we were not there. They got caught by me. They said they would charge the card anyway and pulled off. BAD PLACE!!!! You should never go here.
These guys are ridiculous in pricing. Our truck slid off the highway and went 150 ft in the ditch. We asked them 2 times before they pulled it out how much it would be. Nobody gave me an answer. They pulled it out which took 20 minutes tops. Told us to follow them to the gas station to bill me. They gave us a bill for $3,000. I still don't understand their billing.
Absolutely criminal! Called their closest location to me and I spent 3 hours waiting $$$ (I was told they would be at my location in 45-60 minutes.)
You pay their travel time, regardless of the their current location. So, if you're patient enough they'll bankrupt you.
They are creating fake accounts and putting themself 5 stars and fake reviews. Here is the screenshot of 1 of their fake reviewsl. They promised to get mechanic on site in couple hours but he spent there over 10 hours waiting on them. Managment said they dont care and lutting reviews themself if they feel job was done correct. What a joke place
Had a really negative experience when I waited 4+ hrs to be helped. Called their dispatch multiple times and each time it was a different excuse like “they’re on their way,” “they’re finishing up with another customer,” “they got called across town,” “they got a ticket and are talking to the cop.” Finally when I called them to cancel because I had a different wrecker service on the way they of course rushed over to me immediately and got me out. When I asked to cancel because of the 4+ hour wait, the driver told me that I couldn’t cancel because they had my voice recorded from the phone and they would charge me regardless. They are very unprofessional, discourteous and immature business people. It cost $125 for them to do about 5min of work. I highly recommend to use a different tow service.
Called for tow. Said they were coming. Waited almost 2 hours for them to call back and say they had other important people to get AND THEY TOOK MY CREDIT CARD INFO!!!! how can you have so many locations and not be able to help me. Will make sure MY IMPORTANT people know to never use your services
Totally not worth using unless you have towing insurance (Which I don`t have) . They charge by the hour (which I didnt know until I was towed. My bad). I was less then 3 miles from their Rochelle, Ill. hub. They took an hour to get to me. They towed me 2 miles into town and charged $429.00. Tell me is that a fair and honest price.
We had a alternator go out on a 2015 Cascadia. Truck made it to local Petro station. Driver checked in to a nearby shop and it was going to be a few hours before got to him. We called Jonny's to see if they would be quicker. They claimed to have a alternator and be able meet him in a hour. Arrived almost 4 hours later and didn't have a alternator. Are truck was only 10 miles from there shop. They jumped the truck and charged 580 bucks for that. Driver then went to there shop and was told that he would be the first truck in the morning. He wasn't finish till around 230pm. They charged 1425 buck to replace a alternator and 580 for jump start.
save your money use a different company.
This place is the worst $1822.00 for a 25 mile tow , one hour of labor $25 part. These guys are predators, taking advantage of people who need help. This is the second post I have put on about this. Don’t know how it was removed. I am writing this as I sit on the interstate just south of their shop waiting on a different company to come out. Yes broke down again with same problem. I would leave my truck on the interstate before I woul give them a dime of my hard earned money.

These guys couldn’t give me an ETA and after an hour I found another Tow company (Ramer towing) to provide a service. I then called and cancelled Jonny’s and a month later my credit card got hit for $490. After that I filed a claim and went through that whole process.
In Jonny’s statement they lied about the whole situation (examples: being on site, weather, and informing me of a cancelation policy). Through facts and the help of Ramer towing I was able to win and get my $490 back. And by the way Ramer did the same job for $300.
Go with your gut and don’t give these crooks the time of day.
Make sure you have an estimate of time and cost in writing. We were told we would get into the shop the same day and were lied to for the next 2 days that it was in the shop. After being gouged for towing we requested an estimate for the repairs. We were given a verbal quote (should have known better). They would not honor the quote and were rude. The guy on the phone will dodge questions and take no responsibility. Jim is rude and very unprofessional. I would pay extra to get someone else!
If I could give 0 stars, I would. I had a truck sitting for 36 hours after being told 4 hours. When the first 4 hours went by, they said it would be picked up over night. It wasn’t. Next morning I was told an hour. Didn’t happen.... Then they called and said we aren’t going to make it at all. This was the most ridiculous experience I’ve ever had with a tow company.
My son's car was towed by this company last night and he called them at 4 PM to pick up his car they said it would be a while before they could meet him to pick it up. They claimed that they would take direct payment from his insurance company. My son called back and the guy told my son that he would meet him in 45 minutes and was yelling at him on the phone (everyone in the car heard it) that he would no longer accept payment from his insurance company and that he had to pay it himself. So when we got there they charged him more than what the guy had quoted him 20 minutes earlier and he said it was because it was after 5 PM. It was after 5 PM when he told my son how much it was gonna be the first time.
Also if you notice...all of the 5 star ratings...the "people" only have a couple reviews and if you click on their name and look at their "couple reviews" they are all for various Jonny's Towing locations and they all have the same wording and spelling errors. Apparently Jonny and his employees can't spell very well!!! Lol
These guys are scammers. Charged me $195.00 to jump my car and they’ll trick you into signing forms online which state that you cannot cancel your order. Please use any other service except theirs. These guys are the worst of the worst. They are liars, scammers, and cheats; I hope they run out of business soon.
Please please please do not use this service! This company are thieves and scam artists! They were supposed to pick up and drop off a piece of farm equipment and after waiting for 2 1/2 hours they never showed. The next day they apologized and pretty much begged to keep our business saying they would be there in a timely manner to pick up our equipment. They quoted us $150 per hour from pick up to drop off on the phone. The time it took to load the equipment and bring it to our property was less than two hours. When they pulled up they refused to pull into our driveway and instead waited in the street. They asked my husband to electronically sign what they said was a damage waiver in case any of their chains had damaged our equipment so they were not liable. They then told us it would be $750 for the tow. My husband called the office and they said if they quoted us $150 then that’s what it would be. They said they would listen to the recordings of the phone calls. Then they said that phone calls said $250 and that we were not allowed to listen to the recording. Then the driver showed my husband what he signed and it was actually a form saying he agreed to pay $750. And at that point they said they had been there extra time so now it was going to be $1000 or they would be taking our equipment with them and we would still owe the $1000 as well as impound fees and the daily rate. The police were called. While the police were completely sympathetic, they said it was a civil matter and that they could not legally do anything except arrest my husband for theft of services for not agreeing to pay for services rendered. The tow driver said he would press charges if we did not pay. So basically we had to pay them or my husband would be arrested. These people knew exactly what they were doing. This company is a company of predators. If anyone else has had a similar experience, please contact the Better Business Bureau so that this company cannot swindle anyone else.
If you need a tow truck I would recommend a more professional service. After waiting for two hours (when I was told a driver was on his way) stuck on the side of the interstate I called to check in and see how much longer it would be and was told they couldn’t reach their driver but they will call me when they do. Call back 30 minutes later to see what’s going on, they say they can’t get a hold of him still. At this point I’m tired of sitting and call an Uber. I call Johnny’s to say never mind and they say well he was pulling up now but I’ll turn him around. Click. After waiting three hours that’s the best you can do. Hanging up on a customer? Nothing but rude.
BEWARE!!!! Don't waste your time or money with this company. I waited for 3 hours for them. Guy kept saying he was coming but could never give me a time frame. When I'd call he would have every excuse as to why he wasn't there to get the car. They basically left my infant and I stranded. I called another company and was home safe in am hour.
Let me start by saying. I was trying to call a different company, line got crossed and called Johnny's. Was quoted $65.00 to pick up and $4.00 a mile to the destination. My 11 mile tow ended up costing me $177.00. This company is a total ripoff and I would never use them again. I called to try to talk to them about getting it straightened out. I was hung up on and then they wouldn't answer my calls. I am a business owner and will tell everyone I come into contact with to avoid this crooked company. I am also filing a complaint with the BBB on this company. Buyer beware.
Careful, before you trust these guys. I would give zero if I could. Claimed it was out of town, said he was coming from Rochelle. I WAS IN Rockford and he was there in less than 10 min. Rochelle is 20 min away. Towed me 3 min to my shop and charged double than most tow companies. I asked him why so much he laughed and said bc we can.
Was told 1-2 hours for a tow. I sat around for 4 hours while getting the runaround before I gave up & left. Zero communication & I had to keep calling back even though they said they'd call right back with a update. I finally was told it'd be dropped off late that night(which it wasn't). The car was dropped off the evening of the NEXT DAY w/a nice, big bill...What a joke company...
WARNING ! This company is the biggest ripoff , they came out to service one of our trucks and never gave us a price , worked for about 1-1.5h , no parts needed , and gave us the price $2250 , they have told us there is a minimum of 3.5h at $750/ hour we refused to pay and they called the police .
We've told officer that they can't charge such an amount without letting us know upfront what the charges are .Chris which works for Jonny's lied to them saying our driver was aware about charges.
These guy's are scams, please refer to the news stories of this company ripping people off. These reviews are fake, modified by a tactic business reputation repair companies use to bury negative reviews.
Please do not call these guys, there's much better options out there. Don't get scammed like I did. I work for a company, and I will remain anonymous. These guys charge 4x the normal rate. Forewarned.
This company shouldn't be allowed to be a business. They are very unprofessional. Call them to bring me out fuel, they tell me they will be there in 30-45 minutes and show up 2 and half hours later. They told me they could deliver me fuel but instead they send a wrecker to tow me. Not what I asked for. I asked for fuel all they wanted to do was tow me and increase the bill. I called and spoke with the manager he is very unprofessional as well. He put me on hold twice and then hung up on me. I WOULD NOT recommend these towing monkeys to anyone!
My daughter drove into a ditch during a bad rain storm. Called Jonny's and was told driver would head out right then. Driver showed within time dispatcher said. When driver showed up he was very polite. He explained how the vehicle was positioned in the ditch that cosmetic damage is likely. He then pulled vehicle from ditch with zero mechanical or cosmetic damage to vehicle. Not to mention the whole time it was pouring rain. He had a great attitude the whole time. The driver had outstanding customer service skills, very knowledgeable, and a great attitude. These are difficult traits to find in people today. I believe he is an asset to your company. The drivers professionalism should not go unnoticed. I do not write reviews for businesses just doing what they are supposed to do. I did not catch the drivers name. It was August 27 @ 2200 on rt38 slightly west of Kish Community College. Keep up the good work!!!
I had an unfortunate run in with a pothole while driving back home to the Quad Cities from Rockford. I called Jonny's after finding them on Google, and had a terrible experience. The website promises $65 towing and under 20 minute ETA. I called and was informed that towing was $65 plus $4 a mile (which I was okay with but their website should list that extra fee) and promised a 30 minute ETA. I told the dispatcher I was trying to get my car fixed tonight and he said he would send a truck. 30 minutes later I get a call from the driver saying he would be 30 minutes. I told him that wouldn't work because I wouldn't make it to the shop before it closed and told him never mind. He was polite and apologized. The manager then called me and chewed me out for cancelling the service, saying "Nobody in their right mind would think a tow was $65". However, their website reflects that thought. He then continued to berate me even after telling him about the time discrepancies and he finally said "Well it sounds like you have no money anyway" and hung up. I would NEVER consider using this company and hope they never get a chance to treat a customer this poorly again.
His add says he is only 20 minutes away from anywhere you are in the Chicago area but...... He claimed it took him an hour and a half to get there, then 20 minutes to fix our truck and didn't have to get parts. Then gives my driver a bill for $822.00 and says if we didn't pay he would call the police and the DOT to have our truck impounded and the driver arrested. Look at the reviews on his website and you would think he cured cancer so I'm sure they're BS. This guy is an absolute $#@#$%&*!! I wish more people would complain about a business designed to steal from the public. FYI you have to give one star or you can't post!!! lol BTW it's $235.00 an hour but won't tell you that up front.
