these guys have 0 customer service skills. forklift guy pulled in front of me when I was next in line.. was my turn to pull up.. i hesitated, saw he was staying there.. so I pulled forward to go where I needed, took 2 seconds then I was out of his way... he yelled at me rudely to not drive behind him.. we got into bc I'm not an employee, I'm a customer and not going to be talked to like that. They could have had an employee telling me to wait, he can also just wait since he was driving thru a traffic lane. Another employee barely speaking english tried to be rude after I told forklift guy not to talk to me like that bc I wasnt his employee. Dont go here expecting helpful workers. I'd give half a star if I could.
I had brought in about 300 pounds of hardened steel excavator teeth and the lady that’s all ways in the office tells me there cast iron well she was wrong and I told her she was incorrect I tried to explain I wasn’t getting anywhere I always come to this place iv never had this type of problem be aware of what you have so you don’t get ripped off just ridiculous as crap very upsetting because she thinks there cast iron that’s how it goes when they indeed where not they literally dig into the ground and don’t crumble like cast iron would
I'm reminded once again why I avoid using this yard if at all possible. It took four different people over 20 minutes just to figure out how to work the computer correctly and give me a payment ticket. Then the ATM that you get your money out of doesn't give you change, so they screw you out of anything that's less than 50 cents. That's on top of already being the lowest paying place in central Illinois. Everywhere else you go around here just hands you cash when you walk in the door, without the 40 layers of BS.
Every time I go there their prices are the lowest of the low for one Noone is friendly except the women inside. They make their own decisions as to what things are like an electric motor being the price of shredder tin when they have prices for motors being different. I have tried several times to give them a chance since they are in my town but I am going to an suggest others do as well go to either mullins in kincaid or big daddy's in kankakee where you will actually make money off the time and effort you put into getting said scrap
Will go elsewhere in the future. They have instituted a new policy where they give you zero money for any appliance that uses refrigerant even though the refrigerant is has been recovered properly. They will conveniently take them as donations though. This is taking advantage of people that have no where else to go and they will no longer receive my business.
Prices are way way below the national average and you will get almost 3 times as much if you take it out of town to Peoria but if your stuck in Bloomington it's pretty much your only option for metal recycling.
Terrible experience with this place, I was expecting to receive 8-9 cents per pound because that is what the going rate was at the time. Instead I received 5.5 cents per pound and not to mention the lady at the front desk was not very happy with me because they were closing in 1 minute when I came in after dumping my metal. Not very happy with this experience and probably won’t be back.
Very nice people..tell ya anything you need to know or want to know..great place..im there twice a week most if the time..glad we have a place to make a few dollars..
If you don't know the procedures, don't expect them to tell you -- and, by the way, it's your fault if you don't know the procedures. Really tough for the first time or two. They are not customer centric. You are there for them and not the other way around. So, now you know.
