I had brought some hardened steel excavator teeth in and got told it was cast iron there for I got ripped off over 250 pounds know your shit try to explain to them and get shut down like you’re wrong it’s ridiculous
I've had a great experience there bringing in our collection of aluminum cans. The staff always friendly and helpful. For many years I would bring my grandkids who had helped crush the cans, let them help me unload them, watch them go up the conveyor belt and then go with me to the office to collect our few dollars. They got to split it. Then, as a bonus, we would walk up to the fence and watch the claw work in the big scrap metal yard. It was a red letter day if we got to see a car frame picked up and dropped on its appropriate pile. Makes a great field trip, parents, and teaches them there is a little money to be made by saving and recycling aluminum cans.
Brought 256 pounds of aluminum mailboxes. Removed the steel locks for each of the 6 doors in all 8 box sets.. but because there were steel screws inside that weighed 10 lbs or less I was paid 7 cent per pound.. so instead of walking away with 102$ for 200 lbs at 40 cent per lb for aluminum I walked away with 18$ for 256 lbs.. highway robbery not worth the time or effort. I def will not be back. From now on it can all go in the garbage
Friendly enough staff - just way below national average as to what they will pay. If you are looking to make money here, know what you have and be willing to go elsewhere. I usually handoff the more valuable metals to my dad who makes 2-5x's the amount only a few hours away.
Been waiting for 40 minutes during business hours and they are still closed... They reopen at 1230. No one is answering the phone and a line has formed.
Currently they have posted they pay 30 cents a pound when it's worth over 84 cents a pound. National average pays 50 percent so local Behr is screwing us out of 12 cents a pound as of tonight when I checked what they pay and what it's worth. Just letting all know.
Make sure you know what you have before you go in, and check your ticket before leaving, they may give you much less than you are owed, also prices are very low, I will drive a little further to get more money and not give these guys business next time.
What kind of recycling place closes at 4, it's just stupid, how's anyone that actually works for a living supposed to be able to take stuff in if they open late at 8:30 and close so early
