I was stuck with a flat tire at Hucks. This wonderful gentelman approached me and changed my tire in minutes and had me on my way. I will be using this company from now on!
Son managed to break four of five lug nuts off of his driver side front tire. Justin arrived to tow the car home so I could properly repair the car. Justin was awesome, and extremely helpful. If it was not for Justin I would have never gotten the car home. If you need a car towed ask for Justin. Phenomenal service!!
My car malfunctioned last night on the interstate and basically shut down. Got it towed and the guy was incredibly helpful and so nice. He looked at it for me at their shop and actually got it to start so I could get it home!!!

AJ was great. I’d leave 10 stars out of 5 if I could. We had a flat driving through. AJ got there 4x faster than the other towing option we had. After I made 20 calls, no tire places had our tire in stock. AJ knew a place that did. He was kind and we appreciated it.
This place is GREAT!!! Chassidy answered the phone and I got all of my questions answered. She sent Dion to help me out & he was PHENOMENAL!!! I would recommend Southtown to any of my friends near and far.
After fresh snow, our son's car slid into the ditch. We knew right away to contact Southtown Wrecker. After talking with Pat and Nicki, they reassured us that someone would be out to help us right away. They were extremely kind and caring. Jericho came within 20 minutes and was so professional. He talked us through what he was going to do and then told us to go stay warm in our car while he took care of our sons car. He was so careful and took his time making sure everything went smooth. I would highly recommend Southtown Wrecker!
Pat and his crew helped me out in a big situation that I had and they did an outstanding job! I know for sure that if something ever happens like this again, that I will be going straight to them.
EDIT: I did contact you and was basically told tough, deal with it! We literally drove from Peoria to get the truck and your guy took off. My daughter had a seizure while driving that is what caused the accident, and then had to deal with this! Had to leave the emergency room to hurry and get the truck because the driver said it would be an additional 300 if we weren't there in an hour! We were able to drive it back to peoria with no problem. They were told we were on our way by the officer and loaded it anyway! So, thank you for all the extra headache!
Also own Maurer wrecker service....Do NOT let the police contact this company in the event of an accident!! They will charge you the fullest extent that they can! $490.00 to go 12 miles for a vehicle that was drivable. The driver pulled off quickly as soon as I pulled up to the tow truck and police officer. They charged a clean up fee of $150.00 to pick up a full grill, plastic not heavy at by the way
(CLEAN UP FEE). It was in the grass. Not in the road at all. $250.00 flat rate to tow I get. Then $2.50 a mile to go to the scene. And $5.00 a mile to go back to their location. After an accident the last thing you want to worry about is this. And they only had it for 3 hrs. Ridiculous!!!!
This place is a rip off. My car was towed by Woodford county and taken to this place. The officer tells me don't worry you only have to pay the tow and the storage fee. I call and this is what South town tells me.They said that it was a $50 admission fee and then a $50 something else fee and then 25 miles at 2:50 a mile and then 25 miles at 1:25 and then $250 for the tow and then the $120 for it sitting there. Where are all these fees coming from. It's been there since Sunday night at 8 pm. This place is scandalous and a rip off. I have never had to pay so many fees for having my car towed. It couldn't be left on the side of the road due to where it was sitting. Almost 700 dollars. What?? So now another family without a car. Who can afford this? Where are all these fees coming from. There is a standard tow fee and then the days it has been there which isn't even a full 72 hours. 120 for it sitting there since Sunday night. That not 120 dollars at 40 dollars a day. A day is 24 hours. I have heard from others this place was scandalous. Apparently I need to speak to an attorney.
Dion and his staff have always taken care of me and the repair shop I work for. Always professional and get vehicles in a timely manner. I will continue to use their services over all others!
If you look closely, you'll see that all of the negative reviews are people who had their car impounded for violating the law or parking rules. This is a professional business who performs a necessary, but often unpleasant, service.
THE ABSOLUTE WORST! We got a letter regarding an impounded vehicle states away. We called Eric up and explained the situation, that we were a couple states away. The vehicle was one of our family member's who is incarcerated. We were told they would hold the vehicle until the 4th of July. We were told that if we paid the impound fee they would release the vehicle to my
Mother and the contents. We just called today and THEY CRUSHED THE VEHICLE!!!! My mother is so heartbroken. There were family heirlooms that are now crushed. Its bad enough to deal with what my family member did, but now we were cheated of what little closer we would have gotten from the situation. Thank you Sir for breaking my mother's heart. She's now outside wandering in the rain bawling her eyes out. Now we have to cancel the vehicle we scrimped and saved to rent...$1700, as well as 300$ for the hotel, and 200$ for gas, money we didn't really have. I had to take back $500 worth of coins just to try to get enough money....and none of this included the impound fee. All this hassel we went through ALL FOR NOTHING!!! If you weren't able to release the vehicle to use, you should have told us in the first place instead of lying over the phone, saying that you never agreed to it. You don't deserve to be in business.
Cassidy, receptionist, was very friendly and thorough taking down the details. AJ was very friendly (even though it was during early morning hours) and seemed very good at his job of getting it safely loaded.
Picked up my car off of a private lot. My fault, I admit. Upon coming out of the bar I was at I offered to pay the drop fee. Posted tow was 85 + 25 for dolly. So $105 total, got it. When I was charged the drop fee was $130. Made no sense but they dropped my car and I had a few drinks so I paid the fee. Did my research though, and found out the drop fee is higher than I should’ve paid. So, a driver that doesn’t know the proper rates? Big training issue #1. Training issue #2: not carrying around a receipt book? That’s super shady dude. Didn’t receive a receipt for this tow. Main issue ends there, however it’s not over. When I call to inquire why my drop fee was so high and why I didn’t receive a receipt, deon, the manager, called me a liar when I said they didn’t offer a receipt. Said he’d look into it. Forward roughly 10 days and I’ve heard nothing. I call and speak with the other manager, Sarah. She deferred me to the owner, and said to call after 5pm. Subsequently, I call after 5pm and the owner tells me to call back the following day because he has no operators and can’t assist me. I call back two days after, between 8am-5pm, where I’m again told to call back after 5pm which leads me to today. I call once again at 5:30pm and am told to call back tomorrow between 8am and 5pm. Enough is enough. There’s no accountability on the company, only doubt. Im sure this trend is likely to continue with drivers like this out there, and managers that deny accountability of the actions of said drivers
Terrible workers the guy that towed my car scratched everything up which costed a couple hundred then he just left and didn’t tell or give me any information about where it was going or just anything at all then when i found the place the lady at the front desk gave me the wrong car. As well alot of my personal belongings and money went missing . Trust me do not ever use this towing service
Jesse came and helped me out with a problem with my lift van. He was kind and courteous, even showed me a trick with my key eventhough the van is push button start. He showed up quick and really helped me out of a jam. Thanks Jesse and Southtown/Maurer wrecker!
Jesse is simply a lifesaver. Our company is truly grateful for his awesomeness and efficiency. He showed up within an hour of us calling, at 2 am (I-55 S), towed our truck and offered a ride to our driver to a nearby hotel. Southtown is simply the best.
We needed a tow to Bloomington from just outside Lexington. The gentleman who assisted us was one of the nicest guys and assured us he would get us wherever we needed to get. He was timely and extremely kind. We would highly recommend this towing company to anyone who needs help getting to somewhere.
