Perfect place to stay when working as a volunteer at the Sparta shooting complex. Clean, convenient, and the owner was very helpful and a great host. Will be back again.

This is a small little model and RV campground on a rural road in the middle of nowhere. It's a bit dated, but quaint. It's family run and the owner was friendly and helpful. Rooms are very basic. Nothing special and not very quiet. Could hear people in the adjacent rooms and traffic passing by. Still, got a good sleep during my 3 night stay. Rates were very good and I would certainly consider staying here again when in the area.

Decided to try a small, local establishment for an annual event instead of the nationwide chains I've used in the past. I was happily surprised. The owner is very friendly and accommodating. The cost is low. This is a very basic place to stay- there's no wifi, for example, nor is there any sort of breakfast offered.|The bed was comfortable, and while the room was small, it was definitely sufficient for a single person for a couple of nights stay. The only issue I had was that the fridge didn't to get very cold. The freezer worked great, though.|I plan on staying here again in the future.

Lovely place in a friendly little town. The owner was very helpful and welcoming. If we are in that area again, we will most certainly stay here.

We stayed in the hotel and were able to charge our EV at the campground. It’s just under an hour to St. Louis. We had two rooms that joined for my husband and I and our two kids. Facilities are clean and well maintained. Manager was nice, helpful, and interested in making our stay the best possible. I always pack travel shampoo and conditioner, and I was glad I had them. This hotel supplies soap for shower and bathroom sink but not the extra amenities, which was fine as the hotel charge was reasonable. I would recommend .!

I stay here every time I go back home. Mike always takes care of you. It's a great place to stay

Stayed one night as passing through the area. This campground / motel is less than an hour outside of St. Louis. It's quiet, clean, well priced and owner is friendly. They offer full hook-up and wi-fi which worked wonderfully when I was there. The only downside is that they do not have a bathhouse. If staying in the campground you'll need to have a bathroom in your rv.

I'm a Disabled Wounded Warrior, who lives Full-Time in his RV. I stay at the World Shooting Complex in Sparta, IL. I have to pull out of this Campground once a year for three weeks. When they have the Grand Nationals Shooting Competion. I've have Contacted them for the last three years, and I'm told that they are Full. I've Driven by the Campground and they were not Full at all. So to all Veteran's, don't call the K-River Campground & Motel. Because they will tell you that they have no Openings for you to stay there.

If I could give it zero stars, I would. Payed $475 for one week. Ended up not working at Baldwin. Stayed a week, paid for month. Gave me credit with wrong dates on both receipts. Just gonna take my lose. He also takes copy of credit card even when u pay cash. Shady owner! Union proud to take advantage of others misfortune

Mike called after we made the reservation and let me know my check for the deposit arrived. He called on day of arrival so he’d be there when we checked in and with advice how to get there the best route (through St. Louis). Nice and quiet campground which was nice after being at the American Grand where it was noisy. Good location for us.

What an excellent campground. Very clean, quiet and we felt safe. Mike is the go to man with any problem. Our a/c went out and it was 113 degrees with the humidity. Mike called someone who had us cooling within 90 minutes. Mike is very accommodating and understanding. If we go back that way, we will definitely stay here.

Mike is a great guy and this place is a clean nice place if your working in the area this is the place. Owner supports union labor strongly and appreciates his customers

Cozy little place to stay. Nice inviting exterior. Newer remodeled interior. Weekly rate can’t be beat. Turner goes above and beyond to be accommodating. Stayed here while on a job and felt right at home.

I would give it negative stars if I could. The owner of this place is extremely rude and unprofessional from the way he talks to and treats his guests to his unwillingness to fix issues. I stayed there for almost 2 weeks in room number 9, checked out yesterday on 9/25. I notified the owner several times about the MICE infestation and the only solution he had was to continue to set traps while my personal belongings continued to be damaged instead of fixing the problem internally. Each time he was notified I was cussed at and told what's the problem now! The pictures show what I was dealing with on a daily basis. When a person is paying their hard earned money to stay somewhere they expect not to have to live with Rodents! It was my conclusion that the owner flat out just didn't care as long as he was getting paid. There are other places to stay in the surrounding area. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere!

Very quiet, super clean, no riff raff, 10 minutes to everything you would want, food is 2 minutes, very peaceful, family safe, rooms upstairs or ground level with outside entrance on every room, a slice of paradise !!!!!

My husband and I have stayed at K -River in our camper 4 or 5 times now. Michael, the owner, is really nice and accommodating. The campground has full hook-up and 30/50 amp service. The rates are very reasonable. If you’re looking for a campground that entertains the children this isn’t it but if you want quiet, clean, and well-maintained you’ll be very satisfied.

Stayed for 2 nights. Rooms are clean. Bathrooms are clean. Comfy bed. Friendly owner and staff. Even the other guests were nice. Would stay again. Plenty of heat when it is chilly night. Good cable and easy parking.

Second year staying here for the Grand. It's the best. Super close to the IDNR. Mike is the most gracious of hosts. Would stay here anytime.

I booked a room here through expedia, by accident on the wrong date. We showed up on July 3rd @ 10:04 pm, the sign said Open but there was no one at the desk. Instead they give you a phone and a number to call. We called 3 or 4 times, left our number for them to call back. No one ever returned our calls after 30 minutes. Although my reservation was initially booked for the wrong night, I was going to have them change it at the desk. Instead, they charged my card and told expedia that since it was a no refund room, they would not refund the money. Had someone returned a call or come to the desk, I would've stayed that night instead.

This is a nice place with character. The rooms are clean with a mini fridge and microwave. Make sure to bring your coffee maker. If you forget there is a Casey's Gas station close by to get the hot coffee. The bed was comfortable and cozy. There is a small table to eat meals at. They are very welcoming and accomedating. We will be returning.

This is the second time we’ve stayed here. In fact we drove this direction just to stay again. Friendly, clean and welcoming. Your are out in the country yet close to other places to visit. We’ve told lots of people to stop if they are in the area. Won’t regret it.

I came to this motel for a night to visit a friend i love this place its so comfy and nice theres no smoking in the motel rooms which was fine with me. Mike is a very nice guy he will work with you as long as your honest and dont break his rules. Hes friendly and knows the area well. The bed was very comfortable i disnt want to leave there. Just dont smoke in the motel room though. Theres chairs and ash trays outside.

A nice, clean, quiet place. This is the night before the Solar Eclipse, we had a retired NASA employee staying here also. He gave a cool presentation. Mike does a lot to provide for his guests, you can expect the grill to be lit.

Best bang for your buck! An inexpensive and very clean motel in Baldwin. Stayed there for one week without any complain and the food on thursday was very good. Thanks!

What an amazing place to stay! Located in a quiet area, the owner is very nice and the staff is accomidating! Very clean and cozy! My family and I enjoyed it very much!
