Very unprofessional and unpleasant to work with on phone when calling for service. Tow for a little over 3/4 of a mile was $215, which included an upcharge for using a card. Company called and was unpleasant day after tow as well which ended up being a user error on their part inputting incorrect information. Overall, would not recommend. Wait the extra time and call a different company. Only positive was the driver was polite and responsive.
If you have a choice I wouldn’t use this company. I didn’t personally deal with their employees other than to call and get a price , but as far as taking advantage of people who have their car impounded over a minor traffic warrant “expired license” a 3 mile tow and less than 48 hours of storage $620.00
They close the office at 3 everyday to limit access to vehicles. I called less than 24hrs after being impounded was told $595.00 after being told by the Madison county police officer it would only be $295.00 plus any storage fees for extra days. Looks like someone should be reviewing county contracts. Also from reading other reviews their prices are on a whatever we want to charge today scale. I wouldn’t recommend this shady company. Unfortunately I didn’t have a choice, however I do believe if you’re doing tows for the police there should be more transparency in your tow fees.
I called Bowers to pull my car up and back because it rolled out of the car wash and it hit a hump. All they did was pulled my car back and it was drivable but that's all they did and they charge me 185 200 because I had to use a debit. I see where someone said that the lady was a widow that don't give her the right to be an overcharged widow their prices are crazy. I would hate to think what it would've been if I had to have them towed to my home ridiculous
I would NEVER refer anyone to Bowers Towing!!! They charged $395 to have it towed less than a half mile, plus a random unexplained $35 fee and $60 for one day of storage. Not only that but they marked our receipt incorrectly and damaged the car by dragging it causing the front tire CV Axel and U-Joint to complete break off the the car, when they drug it they caused the front tire to shove into the fender making it impossible to open the passenger door without further damage after we paid $500 to have it released. (Notice the $500 doesn’t add up to what they charged) When I called to let them know the car had damages and I offered pictures of the drag marks in the gravel and they were extremely disrespectful. The owner told me it was impossible to have “drug” the car as they used a forklift, upon speaking to the driver he advised he did indeed tow it, once I explained what the owner advised his story changed and he hung up on me. I would highly recommend using literally ANY other company.
I felt like they overcharged me cause I was black….. Because the next person tht came in got charged a couple of hundred dollars less for thier tow and mine hadn’t even been in there a whole day
I’m 38 weeks pregnant and hit a deer. I was in a panic to check on my baby so I told the officer to have my vehicle towed and he called bowers. They are charging me $520 for the tow and $60 a day for storage until I can get someone to help me pick up my vehicle. NEVER WOULD I REFER ANYONE OR USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN. if I could give them 0 stars I would.
Worst tow company ever sold my car to my renter so she could get back and fourth to work while driving home was pulled over by state cop who gave her 4 tickets would not let me drive it back to my home which was 1 mile back bowers picked it up called that day and said they were closed at 4 o'clock in the afternoon would have to pick it up tomorrow 465 dollars to tow it 5 miles they have to be the greedyest people I know never would I use this company for anything I sold her the car for 500 the greedy people in this world will find out the hard way
My friend car broke down and they were called to bring her home. The gentleman that picked her up was very very nice. Definitely call them again if needed.!
My stolen truck was found by police. Bower's picked it up and took it to their lot. I had no choice. $350 for 1/2 mile tow, $60 1 day storage and $30 "office fee" (not a CC fee, I paid cash). $440 total. Chris, one of the drivers was kind and helpful when I tried to pick up my vehicle, but feel I was taken advantage of on price. Nothing like getting your car stolen and then immediately getting screwed by the tow company. I had Stutz towing pick it up from them, 8 miles, $150.
"Owner" was very rude to third party dispatch roadside company. Said 3 hour wait for a tire change 5 minutes from shop. Owner was argumentative with the provider. Seems to be a reoccurring issue from the prior reviews.
My son rolled his SUV so the next morning we went to their business to retrieve his items from the vehicle. The owner was very rude and unprofessional. Wouldn't let us go his vehicle until we gave them claim number from the insurance company so we had our agent call them and the owner was rude to her. Retrieved our items and got the bill because they wouldn't release the vehicle even though they had the claim number from the insurance company. They charged $350 for the tow, $195 for the wrenching, $125 for oil dry and $60 a day for storage. They wouldn't release the vehicle until they were paid in full even though they were going to receive a check within a week. This towing service is the worst I've ever had to deal with. OWNER IS VERY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE AND CALL A DIFFERENT TOW SERVICE.
I had a very good experience. $135 to pick up my car and transport to Andy's. Luckily, my insurance covers towing. The dispatch person and the tow truck man were both nice.
Price gouging. Charged 4 dollars a mile to the vehicle, 4 dollars a mile for a 15 mile tow, and 4 dollars a mile back to thier shop. Truck charge was 195 dollars. Total of 363 dollars. Never have I ever been charged for mileage to a vehicle or back to the shop. I use to work in towing years ago and we would have the truck charge and loaded charge only. Do not use too many other companies out there that wont gouge you.
Changed tow price from 165. To 315.00 . Called before tow and told 165.00 and after got Bill at auto shop was told 315.00 and was shops deal on phone. Then called 2 more times and was told 165.00 when asking for prices from other work phones.
This company charged my elderly parents $195 (in cash) to change a tire 10 minutes from their shop. Disgraceful!! I can see why their reviews so bad. These folks should not be in business. Beware!!!
Very rude and unprofessional!!!!!! The old lady hung up in my face while I was talking... Will never do business again with this company nor recommend... then not to mention they charge a extra $20 if you use a debit/credit card which is ridiculous, if I could’ve I would’ve pushed my car home and saved myself a headache.. I wish I could give them ZERO STARS !!
$375 for a tow just a few miles, was told that it needed to be picked up by 3pm(this was on a Friday), when they close or it would have to wait until Monday and be charged $50 per day to hold it, even though, their website says 24 hours. When we got there was told it would be $30 extra to use a card! This place is a complete joke, way over priced, taking advantage of people!, very rude. If you can ......do business else where!
My daughter and I recently had a deer take out the front of her car on our way to Jerseyville Bowers We're very professional and exceeded my expectations will definitely do any future business with these people
They came right on out and picked up my truck and placed on flat bed. Only complaint is that they charge an extra $25 for my debit card....Highway robbery!! If I wasn't pressed for time I would have called someone else.
Cathy Bowers is one of friendliest people I have gotten to know over the years. We have used Bowers for multiple cars and they have treated us with the utmost respect. Their team of professionals are talented at what they do and they do not judge by any particular situation. They have gotten cars out of some bad spots with zero issues.
If you need a tow company, I highly recommend Bower's Towing. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and they are most importantly, reliable!
This place is owned and run by the nicest, hardworking widow. She's always on top of things. Her guys are responsible and professional. Especially Chris. If I need a tow, I'll call them!
biggest crooks i've ever seen. 400.00 to tow 10 miles.. and 40. a day.. no notification sent .. . very rude hung up while i was asking questions which were simple and not rude or yelling.. i asked for price and was told they are closed at 2:30pm ..who closes other than crooks wnting another 40.00 i was 5 miles from there and they said they were closed.. Our car broke down on the interstate in the middle of nowhere on a Saturday. Driver was super friendly, very concerned about getting us to a safe place, & our vehicle fixed right away by a quality place. Also, I was nervous as I read the reviews while we were waiting for the to, but to my relief it was very reasonable price!
Spoke with a gentleman before our arrival and was quoted a price of $150 for a rollback to just let us unload a car from a tractor trailer then when we get there a woman(owner) tell us that it will be $300 plus $15. Please avoid using them by any means. CROOKS!!!
