If u got your scrap separated it goes great . If u don't no what goes where u better learn. And as long as you don't wanna talk to anyone except office it's great
Mr. Wolf and his team are amazing. He did a salvage job at the airport, and we needed some parts for our educational program in North Dakota. He gave us the parts for the cost of the metal and was beyond generous in holding them for nearly four weeks in his yard as we were trying to work through internal logistics to get the parts paid and moved. He was a complete gentleman and helped our program beyond measure. A sincere thank you and I would recommend him to anyone.
It's conviently close to home an the guys are pretty cool an decent with helping me separate my things an usually I'm kinda unsure so I'm glad they don't rip me off being a female an all which it has happened many times before.does seem like it takes A LOT of work to get little scrap that's even worth anything stuff I think is gonna be a good 60-65 ends up only being like $40 I guess bc prices 🤷 but great place pretty cool ppl
My preferred scrap yard on the IL side of the river. You definitely want to know what metals you have before hand though cus it all gets ran as one type when you use the truck scale.
I picked a live load of scrap metal on palets on 2-14-2024. They quickly loaded 53 ft trailer - in and out in 30 minutes. The weight of the loaded scrap metal was reasonable (41k lbs). The yard is not too bad for a scrap yard (I've seen much worse).
I would gladly come back to this place.
Watch you scrap metal difference between tin steel and your Stainless steel, if you have one thing that has tin steel in your load everything is tin steel, yard men won't tell you either just dirty stainless steel price. so you get paid on your goods
A good place to take your scrap metal. There are only a few employees that treat their customers decent, the owners and a few others that work there are very rude and disrespectful. Been going there for several years and take alot of scrap to them, they make their money from people like me, but they have horrible customer service!!!!
Will not be going back to maws salvage. Only a few people speak english there and are very rude. Sat on the scale to weigh out for 15min and cant find anyone cause they cant speak english. EVERYTIME i bring anything in they find something wrong and deduct half of the price. I travel the country and this is one of the worse yards i have visited.
Let's face it
Salvage yards are pretty scary.
But-
The cash helps make a reason to visit again instead of setting broken stuff out for the garbage pickup.
Much easier than selling it on eBay, too!
Aside from the mud, which was expected anyways, it was very easy to find what I needed. And it didnt take long to find it. This will be the first place I look if I should need more parts. The guy at the desk was also very friendly and helpful.
This place doesn't pay for scrap like that should and will find anything wrong with what you have to cut your price in half. I had 240 lbs of aluminum and out of that I had 12 small screws in it that they said made it dirty. They didn't work with me about price gave me 25 cents a lb instead of 55 cents a lb. I tried to talk to the guy who was helping me unload but no one at the place spoke English except for rude lady who rang me out. I talked to her about my price and she ignored me. I would definitely not recommended this place unless you speak Spanish or want to get ripped off.
