Was told to get a starter I had to put a deposit, so I paid for the starter itself & was told they would call me when they got it off & they never called and closed the store for the day after I was told I would get it in 20 minutes
This place wasted my day trying to acquire a part. The inventory said they had it, but apparently no so when you show up. The old guy with the goatee and Harley Davison hat behind the counter has zero people skills and was zero help. The only plus was the young man who pulls parts. He genuinely seemed to want to help, thus the two stars. He pointed me to the salvage yard next door. They didn't have the part but were helpful in finding it online somewhere else. Overall, every part I needed was cheaper from Y-Yard in Effingham.
I had a hard time finding a rim for vehicle in a timely manner. I called and they had my part and shipped it to me and I received it in 2 days in great condition. Exactly as described. Pricing was the most reasonable in a 200 mile radius including shipping. The gentleman were very helpful.

WHEN A MECHANIC PUT ON THE "SAME ALTERNATOR HE TOOK OFF" THE FINE FOLKS AT DECATUR AUTO PARTS TOLD ME NOT TO WORRY ABOUT IT FOR THE COST OF GETTING ME A 2ND ONE AND DELIVERING IT. {THAT'S WHEN THE DRIVER NOTICED WE HAD THE UNIT THAT WAS DELIVERED THE FIRST TIME WAS NOT ON THE VEHICLE}. GREAT SERVICE AND PEOPLE.
I've purchased several parts from here. If they didn't have what I needed they have no problems suggesting a competitors place they think might be able to help you out.
bought an engine fom decatur auto parts back in 2019 spent over 3 thousand dollars trying to get my car running again . said the oil pan just needed replaced because the engine had a crack in the pan. come to find out the engine block was broken and engine was locked up according to the shop i had the car at "we cant do anything about that they said that was bought last year. yeah because ive been saving my money all year to get the car running again.

Ordered a hood and fender told them what color and condition i needed and what i got was not even close and cost more than the one i ended up with in better condition, they wanted to argue about it when i brought it to their attention. Poor showing with the customer service on that transaction.
I fink is kind of bullshit that I call John at 9 o'clock this morning and you said you had my part but at 4:22 pm I had to call you to find out not til tomorrow
