Lydia was amazing customer service! I forgot to bring the cans out and needed a special pick up. I submitted the request in the portal, and not 60 seconds later, Lydia called and was friendly and professional. Driver coming out today to take care of it. Small reasonable charge, but thats on me. Great service with GROOT!

Lidia was so helpful explaining the Senior options offered by Groot. My current containers will be picked up on 10/14 after 6:00 am, and 2 35 gallon containers will be dropped off. I’m so glad that Lidia gave me all the details since I wouldn’t know what questions to ask! She also processed an online payment and immediately sent me a receipt. She’s definitely a keeper!!!!

Terrible service, I’ve had to call multiple times to tell them to pick up my yard waste, even though I pay a fortune for it. I also get different information when I talk to people when I call. You are only allowed one bin and one bulk item. However, one extra black garbage bag does not count And you have to call ahead and be charged for it. You won’t know what the charge is until they pick it up Is what I was told. When we had waste management, it was so much better.

Thank you Groot for this valuable service you provide! Suggestion: make a YouTube video of your various services offered. I would especially like to see the "full circle" on common items recycled... your videographers should capture the end products of recycled pop cans, glass, paper, ESPECIALLY plastic! In other words, what REALLY happens to items we set out on our curbs every week of the year?? Don't just show your tipping floor and sorting facility... FOLLOW the trucks that haul all those bales and containers of glass, plastic, paper.etc. THEN PLEASE POST THE VIDEO ON YOUTUBE and send out an email or text to every customer... spread the word... don't be casual or half-hearted about this!... be proactive and "rattle the consumers' cages" frequently enough to improve and upgrade our recycling efforts and infrastructure. Groot gets 5 stars from me... perhaps we need a sixth star for NEW environmental promotion and action.

I went into the hospital in an emergency The night before garbage was picked up and did not get a chance to have my garbage taken to the curb. I contacted Groot after having my wife take the garbage cans to the curb. See if they could come out and pick them up and they did. They came out the same day as the garbage pick up. The lady I spoke to Trista was wonderful courteous and very pleasant. Speak to on the phone. I highly recommend Groot as your waste management company. Thank you Antioch for choosing them to pick up my garbage.

Company only picked up half of my recycling. Spoke to Lydia on the phone. She kept saying it's there job to service the container and if something is preventing the garbage from completely emptying it's not their concern or job to empty it all the way. You pay to have your recycled materials taken and they charge you whether they take them or not. This company is an absolute joke.

Groot refuses to follow their own rules. Their website says “a mattress and box spring count as one large item,” but they refused to take my mattress, left a tag, and then told me I’d be charged if they came back. Hidden rules, zero accountability! Customer service suggested me and mom to sit on and tie it with a duck tape as they did . Please note my mom is 81 y old .

My waste doctor is a gem. I left the five rolls of small carpet pieces per instruction from the person I called at groot (also polite and detailed) . Well, I put it out, poured that night. I mean poured! He took all the pieces of wet carpet. A strain for sure. I just appreciate the consistency and kindness of a service I appreciate but don’t take the time to thank. It is the one service, that is always there, always consistent and frankly one I cannot live without. Thank you Groot. It is a tough job! More than I think people realize! Robert Hyman

My guys in the neighborhood are the absolute best. I have seen them get out and pick up garbage that blows in the wind into yards, they always put the cans back nicely and they are super friendly. 5 stars.

My bin was removed due to lack of payment my township said they were paying but didn't so I paid..Last time I called Cecilia told me they would charge 75.00 for the bin return. I am on ss and 82 no compassion or empathy very disappointed

Most companies have terrible customer service these days. I dread calling. Groot amazed me. The best customer service ever. It exceeded my expectations. I called to schedule a TV pickup. Denise was friendly, professional, helpful, knowledgeable, honest, and truly cares about the customer. She scheduled my TV pickup. I also got rid of my home line. I asked Denise to change my phone number to my cell, in my account. While in my account, Denise noticed changes she should make for me. She provided me with a service option that best suits my needs. I am extremely pleased with my customer service from Groot.

Great job today. First driver took both bins to street from my garage area. The second driver was right behind the first one. Second driver checked both bins to make sure they were empty. And brought both back near the house. They were done by 8:25 a. m. Thank you.

Just had our first service pickup. All receptacles in neighborhood had their lids left open. Just great when it rains or snows. The trucks should be configured to return the bins with the lids closed. Update on second week pickup. Lids were closed as promised. Thanks!! Update on subsequent pickups. They are back to leaving the recycling lids open rather than making sure they are closed. I have called and they said they would address the issue, but they have not.

If you're considering using Groot Industries for waste management, think twice. This company has shown an astonishing lack of consideration for the communities it serves. From missed pickups to trash scattered across our streets, their performance is not just unreliable — it's outright disrespectful. Repeated complaints from our neighborhood have been met with either radio silence or generic excuses. It's clear they’re more focused on collecting checks than collecting garbage. The level of service Groot provides feels like we’re an afterthought, not customers. It's one thing to make the occasional mistake, but Groot Industries has made inconsistency a routine. If you value clean streets, dependable service, and basic accountability, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. Do better, Groot.

I wanted to thank who ever my garbage man is. I forgot to take the can to the road but when I came out it looks like who ever the garbage man was grabbed my can from the side of my drive and emptied it. I want to thank you! From all the forgetting mothers! Have a blessed day.

We had an extra bag of Garbage next to the can. Garbage men do not take anything that is not in the can they are to lazy to get out of the truck. We are allowed an extra item. It was a bag of trash was not heavy. Very disappointed in the service. This happens all over my neighborhood. I never had an issue when Waste Management provided our service.

I called front for the second time after not receiving a bill from the company and made my one time payment over the phone got my confirmation number and called the company back to inform them that I had made the payment Yet they didn’t like that I had made my payment without giving them my credit card information over the phone to the receptionist who was talking to me and she told me that I needed to make an additional payment with her over the phone or they would be canceling my service with groot which would be coming up in a couple of days. As I continued to say that I had not received a bill from the company in the last 6 months and I would really appreciate a new bill be sent out she said that they would not send it out and that I’m the only person in my area who has this problem and then continued to say that I needed to make a additional payment even though I have a confirmation number for my full payment I just made. She said that everyone else makes extra payments and that I need to make the payment if I expect to get my services done.

*** Updated: I called the number they provided in their response to this review, and it was taken care of within a few days. Usually they’re fine but I’ve been requesting a new can for weeks now. Mine is busted from being thrown on the ground by their employee and no one is getting it done. Sooo frustrating and their AI voicemail is useless

I spoke with Gloria over the phone about my recycling not getting picked up and she felt the need to speak down to me. All I asked was for someone to come and take my recycling since they didn’t complete emptying on the assigned day. Apparently the groot vehicle operator doesn’t even look to see if they completely empty the bin, they just let the machines do all the work without thinking about it. I’m grateful for the timely services of groot, but not the experience I’ve been having lately.

Just moved here and had bins dropped off today. This is the condition the trash bin is. I was told it was going to be used but clean. This is filthy. Still has trash inside. It also was dropped off at my next-door neighbor.

Just want to thank the driver who did recycling on Greenview Ave in Antioch this morning. My daughter loves big machinery, so we ran out to watch him dump our bins. He stopped and had the truck do a little show for her, and that meant the world. It’s the little things!

I don’t have the opportunity to start many reviews with a double entendre, but Groot seems to be a trash company so far. Not only do they specialize in garbage, but they are extremely bad at it too. Our HOA recently switched from Jensons to Groot and it’s been such a step down in service versus their competition. They’ve failed to empty my recycling bin 3 of the last 5 weeks. I figured this was because I left some extra broken down cardboard between the bins the first time, and figured I’d slow feed it over a few weeks so I wasn’t overfilling the bin to see if that was the issue. Alas, my garage has now become the dump. I’m going to call on Monday and hopefully their customer service offers a solution.
