Would give zero stars if possible. They pay ZERO for any steel I've brought. It's conveniently right down the street so I only bring bulky items that aren't worth the hassle to haul to my other go-to places. Any other location I go has always paid 5 1/2 - 7 cents per pound for steel/ferrous material (water heater, stove, refrigerator, etc). They claim they pay top market price but they pay bottom of the (rusty) barrel, if at all.
Would give zero stars if possible. Unloaded a couple small motors and 2 residential water heaters (one 50 gal & one 40 gal). Just like other reviewers: "We don't pay nothing for these" (sic). If you are not a professional scrapper with a beat-up falling apart truck, they act like they're doing you a favor by letting you let them "have" it. Take the time to find somewhere where they will at least give you the (very) few dollars that your stuff is actually worth. I should have been able to at least get enough for a McDonald's lunch off all that I took.
Went to sell some scrap metal they told me where to unload it after I was done I asked so do I get anything for the scrap metal I brought in they told me they are not paying for scrap metal told me it wasn't worth anything but by law they have to accept it. I said for that I would have just put it out in front of my house and have a scrap truck pick it up. They said you can load it up and take it back if you don't want to leave it. Wish they told me that before I unloaded it. What a waste of my time.
This place is a hot mess and was a total waste of my time. No parking, very unorganized, didn’t want iron (paying only one cent a pound) and lift truck driver is an idiot (almost ran over me while I was talking to another employee). Went to Rondout in Lake Bluff instead. In and out in 20 minutes with $229 more in my pocket.
I brought two coilers, a motor, copper tubes and the entire hull from the hitter in disassembly (black metal). He didn't even want to weigh the ferrous metal, just gave me the weight at a guess.
Got $16. Thank you, paid for the gas. I don't recommend it to anyone.
We love coming here and selling our scrap metal to Miguel! The place is neat, and very well run. Miguel and his guys really do go the extra mile for their customers. 10/10 would recommend doing business here! They are fair, and pay top dollar for precious metals.
took him 2 trans and a motor and 5 aluminum rims buddy walked away thinking he’s gonna go grab some money didn’t come back went inside he goes oh sorry and hands me 5 bucks for a good 600 pounds of cast guys a complete con artist do not go here and go to g and m metal they pay way more and nice people that u can actually understand
They have decent prices but this is the third time I've been waiting a long time for them to open after their opening time. They "open at 8" it's 8:35 and I'm still waiting
This place is a total joke.
I am not from the area, but had to dispose of 2 snow plows. Called around, was told $300 a ton on the phone this morning.
When I pulled in to the parking lot, I had a bad feeling.
We take the plows off, they don’t actually weigh anything. Then the owner comes to me with $32 dollars.
Said that they pay 2 Pennie’s a pound.
What a joke, next time I’ll just throw them away then taking the 20 minute drive.
Very friendly staff but the prices are outrageously low. They did not weigh my items even and just estimated. Very unfortunate as this place has a lot of potential
I was a bit concerned about pulling in with a trailer. The lot is a bit crowded with material and on Saturday, vehicle traffic was heavy. I met with Ziggy and he helped me out with a forklift and kept all my scrap organized. Pricing was fair, especially since they are close by. I will be back.
Got rid of 100 feet of aluminum gutter. 18 cents per pound August 6, 2020. Pretty crowded with other customers taking their time, but their team took quick care of me. Entry from 22 was easier.
Great service, receipt showed totals for different items brought in. Don't see higher prices anywhere else and they guarantee to match any higher. Take a look at the collection of stuff they decided not to scrap, large bronze sculptures and many unusual items.
I have to laugh at people negative reviewing who are shocked that steel is only worth .01 per pound and some other unmentioned place pays 10x as much. So you didn't notice that it's quoted as $/TON not per lb and why didn't you go to the other fictitious place?
These people are simply thieves, when I arrived to sell my cast iron rotors they offered 1cent per pound, not to mention that everyone else offers at least 10 times more. Do yourselves a favor and stay away from that place.
Terrific service. Came in recieved top dollar for the metal. Always a very friendly place to visit and consider very good friends. Feel like I am at home and would never consider taking my metal anywhere else.
Treated fairly, people always great to work with, and are honest and provide me with exceptional service.
Highly recommend them as they have been a staple of the community.
Best recycling center in the area!!! The yard is nicely blacktopped & clean versus driving on gravel in other places, so I don't have to worry about getting flat tires. Everyone there is super nice & extremely helpful. I like the fact that they weigh the material in front of you & don't try to hide it, where I can actually see the scale weight, so I know that I'm getting honest weight every time. Their prices are great & if I'm able to find a better price elsewhere, Miguel (the foreman) always matches it. He's such a nice guy...very honest. I also like that they give out free gifts (pizza cutters, chip clips, etc) when I bring in my metal...nice touch! I feel safe bringing my kid here - clean yard, friendly people. Any issues, ask for Miguel & he'll take care of you. Honest, friendly place with fair prices. Highly recommend!
Prices are too low not recommended you will just waste gas your better of trashing your scrap prices for metal is 0.01 per pound it's ridiculous you can get paid way more somewhere else.
