I cannot say enough good things about Billys Garage! I think the best single word description is “trust”. I have been going there for years and they have bailed me out several times and got me back on the road.
In one case with my transmission, Bill went out of his way to do a very difficult repair to save me about $1000!

Started experiencing issues with my battery a week before going out of town. Billy and Chris squeezed us in even though the schedule was blocked out until after we were supposed to leave. Not only swapped the battery but were kind and courteous through it all. Grateful for the military discount, too. Best shop around!
Went as a recommendation but staying because they really are the best. I drive 30 mins to see them because they are that great. Very kind, patient and willing to explain everything to you. Fair prices and always willing to get you fixed up as quick as possible.
They were fast, competent, and fair priced. This will be my go-to place for repairs from now on.
Update: 2 years later and I can't say enough good things about this shop. Pleasant to work with, and stand behind their work. I will never go anywhere else!
We lived in Highwood for 6 years and found Billy's to be a very high quality and trustworthy business and I find it hard to find a place I feel I trust and they are certainly that. Great people and great work.
My wife and I were very impressed. Although they had little time to see us, when they heard our urgent issue they were able to fit us in. They diagnosed the issue, replaced our alternator, and did it in a few hours! If we ever have car troubles, we will be going back to them

I needed an oil change so I went to Billy's Garage because I live in the neighborhood and I like to support local businesses. They are kind, courteous, professional and honest. When I arrived they greeted me with a friendly hello and asked me how soon I needed my car back. That particular day I didn't need it back so I was happy to leave and come back later. Dropped the car off at 9 and picked it up around 2. They even noticed that the something else was a little off and fixed it for me at no charge. Great way to do business. Thanks Billy!
I went in for a basic oil change and tire rotation. My first time going here and I was hoping to have a better experience.
Although I was told when I called it would be $89 for both, I was then told I didn’t need the rotation due to needing tires and brakes. Which I did appreciate.
When I went to pay it was $89. I asked if he ended up doing the rotation, he did t but charged extra for a “special” filter. Seriously!! I then called around and not one place I called out of 5 was I told I would need anything extra including 2 Buick dealerships. Everything should be included. Needless to say I am extremely disappointed. Had I gone to dealer which usually more expensive, it would have been $59 including everything with a filter. I could have saved myself $30.

I've been going to them for years and several cars later both domestic and foreign. They are knowledgeable and reliable. Would not go any where else. I refer everyone to them. They are always honest in all their work.
I just relocated from Texas to Highwood and needed my AC looked at. I read good reviews about Billy’s Garage and decided to give them a chance. I made an appointment online and dropped off my car first thing in the morning. The guys working there were friendly and helpful. They called me to let me know what was wrong and got it fixed within a couple of hours. Price was reasonable too. I will definitely be taking my car there from now on! Very satisfied!
Good work for good price. Been going here for years. From a 2014 Nissan- to my 1951 Plymouth. They do it all. Both Billy and Chris are honest, friendly and good at what they do.
Billy's has taken excellent care of our 16 year old Saturn and 8 year old Subaru for the entire time we've lived in HP. They are always able to help us quickly, diagnose and correct issues efficiently, and are the most pleasant business to interact with. I won't take my cars anyplace but Billy's.
Best kept secret in Highwood! Billy's Garage provides excellent service. Billy and Chris are very knowledgeable and collaborative. If you have a classic car/hotrod, you should feel very comfortable taking it there. Pricing is fair, there is no feeling of being ripped off. I was in for a big job - an engine swap on my 67 Camaro. We communicated throughout the process and spent a lot of time talking about options as situations arose. Couldn't be happier. When it came time to settle up, and I rarely say this, they were "overly fair". Another thing that I like and respect is when there were highly specialized areas, they provided recommendations for other companies instead of trying to take on work themselves and messing it up.
If you have a daily driver, a classic car or a hotrod, take it to Billy's. They'll do right by you.
Owner and mechanics are always welcoming and available to answer your questions. Very busy but work is always completed on time and most importantly done right. Honest pricing for labor and parts. Great find.
I needed a new flex pipe for my exhaust and they were able to do it the same day, they asked me if I wanted to leave the car or come back at 3 pm.
I came back at 3 and I was out the door by 4.

When I called to make an appointment Billy was very friendly as fit my vehicle into his busy schedule. When I arrive a couple days later I mentioned why I was there and he remembered who I was and my name. He took down my information and took the keys right away.
Once my car was done with maintenance I was notified right away. Upon pick up a mechanic helped me right away and provided a receipt once payment was made. They put a sticker in my car so I know when to my vehicle would need maintenance again.
I will definitely return because they exceeded far above my expectations.
Honest, quality and truthful service!!! Our car wasn't starting last Saturday and had to have it towed 2 blocks to Billy's. He greeted my husband & I outside and promised to fix it before Tues. It was ready on Monday and the price was honest and fair! If I have car trouble again, while visiting up north, I won't go anywhere else!
Great customer service, informative about repairs needed, great prices, beat other quotes from other local garages. Even stayed late so I was able to pick up my car on a Friday! Highly recommend A+.
Billy is my guy. Always a wonderful tone of voice & demeanor, works very hard to satisfy his customers, just slightly backed up due to many local people & business owners (many of the snowplowers come to him) relying on him and loving his work, fantastic price & fair practices. He is surely outgrowing his location just by his fantastic word of mouth. Business is jamming for him and I couldn't be more happy. He has fixed many of my issues free of charge on a larger repair bill, and ended up cutting the price of the dealer from $6,000 for a repair to $1,500!! Highly, Highly recommend Billy. Also, he drives a E46 BMW 3 series, so he knows a thing or two about fixing cars ;) Thank you Billy, happy as ever!
Excellent service! This guy could have ripped me off. I came to him for what I thought would be a $700.00 job and he basically told me I didn't need it. He adjusted something and sent me on my way and charged me $40. These people are unbelievable with customer service and honesty. It was almost unreal. I will always come back here!
Highly recommended. Had CEL come on and went to a bunch of places. These guys just told me what the problem was without doing a diagnostic. I bought the parts secondhand and brought it in. My part was wrong and they kept my car overnight on the lift and ran and got the part from a local place for no extra charge. They could have skrewed me over so many times and never did. Also Billy is awesome. Thanks guys.
Edit: I already had a place read the code and they knew how to fix it without doing a pointless diagnostic.
