Entrance way is a rough bumpy ride. If you have a disability bring someone to help get your stuff inside for processing. Staff was helpful and cashier is always friendly.
First time I have gone there and the last. Woman in the office was rude. Since I was new to taking brass and aluminum to a scrap yard, I asked a question " I am new to this and have not been here before, how much is it a pound" Her response was a loud" look at the ticket, the total is there". I told her I knew the total and just needed to know the priced per pound' She then told me with a scowl on her face. I thanked her and left. Terrible service
Do not pay attention to the single star reviews about this place. I almost did not go here because of the many poor reviews. That would have been a huge mistake. I will try to keep this short. Sara (spelling) In the office was very nice and explained what i needed to do. Like any business there are expenses they incur when the consumer (me) is unprepared. I had high end 304 Stainless that should have brought a pretty fair amount of money but I failed to separate the non-stainless. My choice was simple return with it separated or weigh in at non stainless price. I hit the scale and the guy doing the weighing was as nice as he could be, big smile and a wave through to dump my metal. Once in the yard a super helpful guy came and gave me some direction and even helped me unload my trailer. Once done back to the scale, big smile and a thanks here's your weight slip, head into the office. Sara looks over the slip and says not bad even though it's only standard metal rate (my choice nobody forced me to take less) another big smile, hands me the cash and a thanks and I'm on my way. These are good hard working people that treated me very well, don't pass this place up because of the previous reviews. Sorry about the mini novel.
DO NOT GO HERE!!! THEY ARE THIEVES AND SCAM ARTISTS!! I weighed my copper before bringing it there. 7LBS with a card board box. So about 6lbs total of copper. They paid me for 4lbs!! Since when does a roughly 9"x9"x9" carboard box weigh 3lbs??? Disgusting business run by liars and scammers. Run away. You'll have better luck at

Spoke to a woman over the phone. She was EXTEMELY RUDE!!! In our conversation she replied, ("if you don't like it you can just go somewhere else"), and so I will.
Stealers . Saved metal from car repairs and Saved up aluminum wheels. I also cleaned and seperated the metal from plasitc Easily had more $200. An engine with aluminum head and transmission $16 for it. as of 11/28/22. We had more then 1,000 lbs of metal and only got $189.66. Total waste of time and would have been better to go else where . Call and make sure you get real prices before you dump your hard effort into thier laps. Look at the lady that Gives you the money and how shady she looks . Wouldn't trust ever again and this isn't my first time haven't a horrible experience. They once scammed my boss our of more than 5k of copper . Maybe they will change but my advice is stay very vigilant with this place.
They are an excellent recycling company, constantly updating their prices based on current market standard. Best payouts by far compared to other local recycling companies. I deal with them constantly and would recommend them to others. Their staff is fast and professional.
Fantastic place to recycle at. When I was unsure how the process worked the staff was very kind and explained the whole process to me. Simply drove to the loading dock, put my cans in a container to be weighed and got paid. Straightforward and simple.
It's ok ,the staff were nice enough. FYI no propane tanks unless you cut them in half. I drilled a hole in them but not good enough. You are not going to get rich
Back in, put it on a flat bed get weighed and paid. Simple process have used them. 3 times so far rather than drop stuff in the trash bin.. Prices are good and the guys doing the weighing have always been helpful.
Didnt know where to stop on the scale or when I could go. Didnt know where to unload cuz no one was out there besides the in the crane. Should of went somewhere else an would of got more money. Place is a joke.
Very unprofessional Everytime I go the man in the back seems to stalk me he will stop what he's doing just to come "check on me" (watching me as I unload) I was told today the only way he will take bicycles is if they are togather with tires on them....? If it's scrap why does it need to have tires? I will drive the extra Miles to the one in wauconda. The only reason I gave them one star is beacuse u have to out a star but I wouldn't even give them that
One thing you can count on here is getting ripped off. I was going by the recycling prices offered on thier web site which , as i write this , its down. Hhmmmm, well I am definely thinking small claims court. I , like a trusting idiot of earth, thought for sure with the weight of my brand mew Toyota original parts radiator, never used and the high grade aluminum couplings @ 0.81 cents a pound , I had nothing shy of 40 to 50 coming , I would get to my job in the city on time , nope . DID I MENTION I RODE A PUBLIC BUS STRUGGLING TO GET HERE TO RECYCLE, SO I COULD GET ON WITH MY LIFE. Oh yeah, I did. $3.45, thats what that nasty , I think she was previously, with all due respect, born with the wrong fit, I was very polite . He got angry when I suggested there was a mistake needless to say it was a horrible experience had left my day destroyed I couldn't even get back all the way on the bus anyway I would not go there if I were anyone and consumer affairs if Lake County needs to get over their test their skills test their demeanor and see what they're doing, especially when it comes to people struggling to make it.
Most unprofessional place I’ve ever been, unorganized and employees are extremely rude. Will complain about anything to pay less if you want them to maybe pay full price run your load through a car wash any little speck of dirt they will complain about. Left this place twice and went to rondout. Much nicer employees and pays more per ton also just take your scrap there and save yourself the headache.
I contacted this company to get pricing on clean copper/coil radiators and the ends. This lady that answered was so rude and saying their to busy. Totally unprofessional and missed out on a huge order. Use Crystal Lake Recycling.
Ive been going here fore a while, its close to my home. It is filthy, un-organized, and they seem to go out of their way to make you feel dumb. I was given a lower rate because i complained of the lack of structure and direction in their yard. I will be giving ALL my business to Rondout from here on out!
Extremely rude on the phone, from the start. I was trying my best to be civil. While asking my first question, I was shouted at to "STOP, STOP, STOP!"
I asked, "excuse me?" Then it sounded like she enounced the first half of f***, then stopped, and hung the phone up.

Evreyone is fair and friendly that treat you good as long as you don't do stupid shot like fill a washer with rocks always aiming to please been my go to yard for 2 years and I plan to keep going there
Pulled in at 4 and wouldn't take scrap. I know they close at 4 but, would have been good customer service for 2 minutes of their time. Clocks are also about 5 minutes fast there. Won't be returning
First time bringing items in, and I suspect I may have been taken. I brought in a complete stainless steel exhaust system and was given $5 for it, I accepted that; but then they offered me $15 for a Catalytic Converter and tried to explain to me that the circular pattern inside the substrate indicated that it was made only out of stainless, and there were no precious metals; this place seems a little too shady.
I went to the Bristol location ,Prices were very low and the service was horrible.I also think my scrap was graded wrong. I will not be going here again. I would find somewhere else to go next time. Would not recommend to anyone.
