I have tried to give this place a chance multiple times and it has continually disappointed. Even if it is further, I recommend reaching out to any other auto wrecker in the Chicago-land area.
My first bad experience was when inquiring about the purchase of a late 90's chevy truck. The employee I was emailing with completely ignored my questions and kept on saying how "This thing is very rough. A great farm truck or for moving furniture." (Not exact quote to be clear) and when I asked if I could come look at it because I live only 30 mins away, I received no response. They ended up selling it to someone else!
My second and third much more recent unfortunate experiences were when filling out the "Get cash for your vehicle" page. I was looking to get cash for my 1991 BMW 325Ci, however I received no follow-up after completing the form. I tried again, because they may not get to every single email immediately, but still no response... I don't think that would change with a third try.
I was also considering coming here to purchase parts for my Lexus sedan, however any plans for that were stopped in their tracks when I learned they do not allow people to remove parts themselves then charge more because they are removing them.
The only reason I even considered giving this company more than 1 star is because their YouTube is quite entertaining. I think I am going to unsubscribe for now.
Our shop has worked with Auto Parts City for years and they’ve always been reliable! Fair prices, quality used parts, and honest service with timely deliveries. Juan is especially great—helpful, professional, and always goes the extra mile. Highly recommend!
Don't recommend this place anymore. Can't go back into the lot anymore, couldn't even tell me if they had any vehicles I was looking for. Place has become a joke
I would give 5 stars but the transmission I bought did not work…but these guys still went out their way to help me even being 2 hours away from them…Victor and team accommodated me…and although I am still without a vehicle they still helped the best they could and I’m appreciative
I called Juan over the phone and he was extremely helpful and respectful. He helped set up a meeting and helped me pick out parts. Would definitely recommend to family and friends. Clean and not too pricey!

I had a great experience with Auto Parts City. Their online and in-person customer service was accommodating and fast. Personally, I worked with Juan and Roberto and they made everything very simple. Their parts themselves are great and very valuable. I recommend Auto Parts City very much.
This would be a four star but please open to the public. when we tried to walk into the building, we were instantly kicked out after because we didn’t have a dealer license. We were just looking around for any parts that we can use on a 2004 Honda Civic EX but they kicked us out so this is a two star sorry not sorry
Very disappointed in this business I got rid of my car down there and I had gas in the tank which they forgot to drain....so I'm hoping they get shut down permanently they are terrible and not good for the environment.... they use more energy to destroy cars then they say they do. If they sent me their illinois license plates and frames for free I will take down my review...
Well unfortunately I have to change my review after what happened. I called looking for a door pannel for my vehicle. I wanted Just the Interior door panel, not the whole door, guy who assisted me on the phone tells me he'll sell me the whole door for $$, but that's not what I wanted. I didn't want the whole door. So unfortunately I won't be coming back or looking for parts from here anymore. Instead I will be short drive to another junk yard, where they had exactly what I needed and don't try to up sell me something more that what I needed to start out with. Good job. You lost a coustomer. Use to be a huge fan of this place, but not anymore.

Used to be pull your own part and it was a deal.
Now they pull it for you and charge atleast 30-40% extra.

I call them asking if they have the part listed on their site and they said yes. I call back less than an hour later and they say it's not that everything I am seeing online is a lie, that i'm not on their website, it's not their part, and that the fact that their number and the part was on the website was very weird. I talked to Ethan ( I believe that was his name, he was very quiet) both times. Weird that it goes from yes come pick it up to you're on the wrong site and number. Very odd for a company to lie like that. Don't you want business?
Keep in mind I never let the original site I was on the guy priced it too low and when he realized he started lying. said he'd call back after he "investigated" and never did.
Came in to get parts for a 2007 explorer. Specifically the overhead console. Website showed there was one on the lot. Came in. No one greeted me. Eventually a guy came up to the counter. I asked if I could get some parts for an explorer. I was holding one of the hardware pieces for the overhead console. He tells me we don't do small parts. I said fine, how about the whole overhead console. He said he would have to speak with an associate. No associates were avail and none showed interest in helping. Again he stated they don't do small parts and will only do big parts/assemblies that they can warranty. I said maybe I'm in the wrong place pulled up the website and the explorer with parts they listed. He stated we are not pick and pull. I was like yes, I think I've wasted my time and as I walked out, he begged for a positive review.
Keith was very helpful and seemed new. 5 stars for Keith none for the other emplyees. He was dealing with the customers in store and on the phone while the other employes sat around and chatted while igroring his questions until they were finished with whatever part in there side conversation they were in. Very unprofessional.
I needed a new spare tire and jack kit for my Honda. Ethan said he wasn't sure they had any on the lot, but he would look. He called within two hours to tell me that one was in stock. I appreciate the service.
Not you pull the part anymore. They guy would even explain it to me he just told me to look at the sign. Used to be my go to spot for my DIY parts that you won't get in the regular auto parts. Interior parts trims connectors etc. How do you explain that over the phone? Sad.
Customer service was rude over the phone and when I asked to speak to a manager I was hung up not one but two times. I will be reporting this to the better Business bureau and Park City Illinois city council. And from the looks from the reviews recently this is a major problem.
GM no longer made the part I needed for my Chevy sonic and I couldn't find one anywhere. Ethan found the part for me and had it ready within 2 hours so I could get my car road worthy again. Saved me a major headache and on top of that gave me a very reasonable price for the item considering the supply/demand issue. All around very good experience start to finish.
Good customer service, good parts BUT I WISH THEYD LET CUSTOMERS TO THE YARD AGAIN!

Im definitely NOT doing business here again until they decide to open it back up to the public.
This review is really not about the business but about a employee. On my way to work this morning the Auto Parts City pickup truck which is blue driven by a young guy with a buzz cut drove by me at a high rate of speed and was weaving in and out of traffic at a dangerous pace. I wish the drivers of the vehicles would realize that they're driving actions do affect what people think of their companies.
Used to be pull your own part, now they won't sell you anything small whatsoever. No brackets no switches no screws no panels nothing Don't bother going here for any of that stuff they won't pull it for you. Shame. The stuff they do pull they add a premium for pulling it and don't take any care when doing so. They'll hand you a busted part and still charge you. I'll save my money for eBay or take a short drive to one of the many other yards.
These guys are great...Was searching for a rim in Michigan, ordered one from 4 different yards, a day after paying they would call and say they was wrong and didn't have it. These guys went and verified it was the right rim and shipped it to me with no issues. A fed ex arrived 2 days after paying. Great business, will deffinately call again in the future..
Did not mind the $1 charge...we figured it went toward insurance, even if you come out with nothing. Found our part and he gave us a great deal! I'm not kidding...we would have paid twice as much in Kenosha. Very friendly staff and very accommodating. For those who complained about them closing early, perhaps you can call them prior to leaving. We have been there several times and will be back.
