Very bad attitude towards customers. Arrived at 4:40 pm.... I was not served...all the workers pretended not to see me and at 4:50 they left their work places without asking why I was standing there and what I was waiting for. THE COMPANY IS OFFICIALLY OPEN UNTIL 5 PM.
All the staff seemed annoyed to help me, and kept sending me to go talk to another staff member (who just always seemed annoyed to help me). It looks like all of them hate their life there, and even if they do, there is no reason to treat customers like the way they are treated. It could’ve been 5 minutes, as I was the only person in line the entire time, but it took nearly an hour because nobody wanted to talk to me. Thank you to whoever the last guy was for not being miserable, and actually helping me. This place is a mess
This place is a total joke they are not able to remove lines they can only cut them off and won’t let you into the yard to do it yourself just tell you to go to upull it down the road sucks the yard with the best inventory is literally the least competent scrap yard in the entire state
Frank from Auto Wreckers has got the biggest attitude. He doesn't realize that I am the customer and he is in the customer service business. I ordered a tail light and he sends me a back up light. Then decides to call and give me attitude. Thanks Frank. Never using you guys again.
I would give it zero stars if I could bought a motor from this guys supposedly it was in perfect shape once installed it had a very bad rod knock and they don’t want to give me my money back even when they said it had warranty
Hands down the nicest people I've ever dealt with they did not have the part that I had needed Rudy went above and beyond anything I ever could expect found the part I needed at a different company wonderful customer service this guy needs a raise definitely I have 12 years as a customer service manager this is the first time I've called the business and felt like I was treated the same way I treat my customers thank you very much City Auto wreckers you now have a customer for life
Wow I cannot recommend against this place enough. Terrible experience, over 45 minute wait time as the front desk guy kept taking phone call after phone call, even though I arranged to pick up my part before even coming. Zero customer service and you will wait long, go elsewhere

I'm not one to write reviews, but this company made a very difficult situation MUCH EASIER to navigate. Our son totaled his car in Bloomingdale, IL, and the towing company that responded to the accident and towed the car away from the scene was less than ethical and not at all transparent. As a result, we were facing a lot of stress -- just trying to get the car out of the lot -- and Gene and Chad from City Auto were so helpful and so kind in helping us through the process. I reached out to Gene and asked if they could help us get the car out of the lot. He bought the car from us and then went above and beyond to assure that things would go smoothly with the difficult tow yard. I couldn't have asked for a better company to have helped us through this part of the process, and I'm so grateful I found them.
Hard to find 2007 Dodge Sprinter parts. City AutoWreckers took the time to look up, then physically check the part, box it and ship it to St Louis. Was impressed at the speed it got here. And well boxed and protected for a semi fragile part. Good price, too. Good job!

Very unprofessional, been dealing with city auto for a couple years now and Frank hasn’t changed. Still uses inappropriate language and denied a return. Clearly hates his job as that what he told me. Should’ve been fired already due to many other incidents like this one at many other shop locations.

Bought a used part back in 2021, asked for a invoice in 2024 they made it right away, then had to redo it under a business name they got it done again without raising a eye brow. Excellent customer service would definitely do business again
After a semi side swiped me on the overpass bridge coming from Southbound 355 into the suburbs for work on my Bday morning these guys helped me get back on wheels!!! Worked with them several times through Fox Valley Glass and we were always happy with the results and I can now say the same for my own vehicle! Thanks for getting me back on the road in style City Auto Wreckers and see ya on the flip side!!!

Had a great time looking for my car parts. The team working on 6/24/2023 were very friendly and helpful. They took the time to help me locate the part I was looking for and advised me on how to get a better live out of it. It is one of the best Junky yard experience I had in 2023. I will be going back.
Hey, I wanted to get rid of 2 cars that have been sitting here doing unable to run. I called City Auto Wreckers, Jim answered my call. He took my information and gave me an offer, he was honest professional and understanding. He took my cars with out titles, the whole process was incredibly simple. If I remember the drivers name it was Eric and he was almost as cool as Jim, what can I say Jim was the bomb. Thanks guys, it's nice working with people who get the job done, and do what they say! I would use them again, and again.
City Auto Wreckers gave the best price for our vehicles. The people we spoke to on the phone were polite. Chad from City Auto Wreckers towed two of our cars within two weeks. He quickly got the jobs done and was very polite and considerate both times.
Avoid doing business with this place at all costs. Bought a windshield told them it was missing a seal in order to do proper installation, spoke to FRANK, told me there ain't nothing wrong the windshield something is wrong with me. Talk about great customer service right? Not.
Excellent place to sell your old car too! I had an old VW that wasn't worth for me to fix. they were super fast at replying to the email inquiry I sent and had someone out to pick up the car the next morning. Super friendly and professional! this was ny first time selling a car and they guided me through all the steps without being condescending and offered me a very fair price. The pick up driver was super courteous and respectful of the property (lawn etc). Highly recommend them to anyone who is trying to sell a junk car!
Our 2005 Honda Accord died and we decided to junk it instead of trying to sell it. I talked with Jim this morning and he sent Chad out this afternoon. Both Jim and Chad were friendly, professional, and answered our questions. We were paid top dollar for the car which we appreciated. We'll definitely be recommending them to our friends.
I had a very poor first experience with this company. When I could not find the part I was looking for on their website on December 20, 2017, I called them and was connected to a saleswoman. She explained that for parts that they do not have listed online, they open the yard on Saturdays for customers to search for the part on junk vehicles. She told me I could come on on Saturday (DEC 23rd) between 8:30 AM and 12:30 PM to look for the part I needed. I thanked her and said I would be in.
On Saturday the 23rd, I prepared the tools I would need, dressed in layers and work clothes for the cold weather, and drove 20 min. to their location. I found an empty parking lot and an 8.5 x 11 paper posted on the door saying they were closed for the holidays.
All they had to do to avoid this was let me know they would be closed, or to update their website and Google Map listing so that when I searched to find directions, I would have been notified they were closed. Instead they needlessly wasted 1.5 hours of my time, and created an experience that detracts from their brand and reputation.
In this digital 21st century, I don't see how businesses can survive by treating customers and prospects this way. All I know if that if I treated my customers this way, I would not stay in business very long.
If your looking to find some parts for your car, and you know what you are doing. This is a solid place. Prices are somewhat reasonable and you can pretty much find anything if you look hard enough.
