I came in trying to drop off an entire trampoline frame with the springs and they told me they could not offer me any money. Beware they may try to take your metal without offering any cash.
Love this place. They've always been here, near our place, but we didn't really start bringing our soda cans over until recently. Brought several bags of crushed cans over twice now for them, and wonderful service both times.
I promised I would review them today and give them some good press. :)

Happy too see Saturday hours. Had a ton of wet boxes I had to unload and they took them. They took my zinc (about 1,000 lbs) and gave me a fair price after I asked them to reconsider The initial offer which was a little low. Thank you for taking the time to make some calls and reconsider. Update, it's July 2025 and I've been here multiple times per year. Always quick to return my calls and above market Rates when I have extra large drop offs.
Great place to go scrap some metal. The guys there are very good, straight to the point. They make sure the pricing of the metal is correct, and the weight is accurate with you. The ladies at the office very nice, and friendly. They thoroughly calculate the weight and price and make sure you’re getting paid for all of your metal. Transparency and great service here. Recommend this place.
Worst service ever! I walked into the office where 2 ladies were sitting and asked if they took satellite dishes. All I got was deer in the headlights looks. I had to wait for a guy to come out and look at my dish. No speak English. He told me I could leave it but no money for it claiming it was steel. My wires he told me to keep. Overall impression? Not worth the time. I bet if I was a scraper I would have been compensated. Another non-English speaking guy came out and grunted something. I guarantee if they took apart what I brought them they would have given me something. Cheap skates. Do NOT give them your business!
I dont believe they weighed all of my metal. I asked the guy twice and he assured me he did however asked me what I was doing with the rest and then he got it.
I would definitely look elsewhere. Offered me 1 cent a pound (20 bucks a ton) for clean steel today. I told him no way Jose, drove to Aurora and received $175.00 per ton for my steel. It was definitely worth the trip.
They try to steal from average people looking for a fair price...they priced a 120 stainless steel utility cart at a penny a pound because of the casters. All American and S&S we're giving $0.35 in the same condition a fair price for stainless. But unfortunately they weren't open
Well ya live and ya learn. Sometimes the convenience of being close isn’t worth being screwed on pricing. 250lbs Of clean aluminum for $25. When if I had driven 25min east I would have gotten between $70-100 for the same truckload.

Very helpful and friendly!!! Usually when i go to other scrap yards to take my mixed wire I get paid for mixed wire(much lower price then if seperated), when I came to st charles scrap they took the time and explained to me how to seperate my wire so I could get more money for my material. Have been going there ever since!
The pricing and staff are a joke. Took 40 minutes to get in and out with 800 lbs of car parts. Steel, aluminum, motors and rotors, ended up getting 20 bucks out of it. I cannot imagine anything except lead bricks being worth the time and effort to bring to this filthy wasp infested "business"
Very friendly staff, but their prices are not competitive at all. They were paying $60/ton today for scrap steel, and S&S Metal Recyclers in Aurora is paying $170/ton. That's quite the difference...
Best recycling place in the area!!! Nice, clean place w/ paved blacktop, versus gravel like other places, so I don't have to worry abt getting a flat tire. Everyone here is super nice & helpful. I like that they weigh the metal in front of you so that you can actually see the scale, so I know I'm getting honest weight every time. The Office Manager, Mayra, is super friendly & nice - she always has a smile on her face & always offers me free candy & free gifts (pizza cutter, chip clips, etc) when I bring my scale ticket into the office to get paid. Their prices are great & they're always willing to price match if I'm ever able to find a better price elsewhere. I really like coming here...honest, friendly, good people. Great experience every time. Highly recommend!
This is the best place I have been to as far as scrap yard. I have been there 3 separate times with 2 different box trucks (total 8 trips and 30-35 pallets) and they helped unload pallets. They addressed prices before I got there. And notified me of any issues and price adjustment. Keep up the great work. I look forward on working with you on future recycling. :)
seemed like nice people but got extremely low balled for my copper wire. I deal alot with copper wire, at my repair shop I fill a 2 very large crates and then take it to a scrap yard, typically I get upwards of $400 These guys were close to my store so i thought i would try them out. I got under $90. I understand market value of copper can change but not that much, really feel like i got screwed
Best recycling center in the area. Friendly people work here. The scales face you, so you can see instantly how much your material weighs. The entrance is all blacktopped and clean. Quick service, and I always get a receipt. I even get a free gift every time I go there. Their prices are fair, and are clearly displayed. They have been in business since 1974.
I LOVE THIS PLACE GREAT PEOPLE TO WORK WITH. THEY GAVE ME TOP DOLLAR FOR ALL MY BATTERIES. KATHY IN THE OFFICE IS SUCH A GREAT LADY. I WILL BE DOING ALL MY BUSINESS WITH THEM IN THE FUTURE.
Horrible!!! I went there with the intentions of walking out of the place in about 15 minutes with about $750.... That did not happen! An hour later I walk out with around $500 and broken bins that I came in with!! Would never recommend this place to any one! It would be better to drive a little further then go to this place!!!
I went there because I got a good price on the phone, got there and they weigh it and I calculated in my head after seeing the total weight that I should receive about $1100, went into the office gave the guy the slip and he punched it in his calculator and said somthing in the neighborhood of $750.00. I was confused and asked him if it was right, he then gave me this fake surprised look and started to recalculate and sure enough, he tried to pull a fast one. For a person that sells this scrap all day long you would think it would be easy for him to add two numbers together, what a scam. We are contractors and sell a lot of copper, he wont get any more of mine
