They give one price on the phone that is reasonable and then hook your car up and charge quadruple that. Insane, these people scam good people and threaten to take your car to an impound if you don’t pay.
Absolute otherworldly rip off. They charged me $340 for a half mile tow to a shop across the street from where I was at. Complete garbage. Avoid at all costs and go with literally anybody else that will charge you probably 1/3 of what you’ll get charged here.
This company tried scamming my partner this morning in Schaumburg. They quoted him $700 and then when they had his truck on the bed, the price changed to over double ($1400+)what the original quote was. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
We are looking into filing a complaint with the BBB, Attorney General's Office, and legla action against this company.

Needed a tow, wow how they do business is shady. No price till it is too late. they charge you for the photos they take to protect them. the milage charge plus a fuel charge. The breakdown of the bill is disgusting to say the least. Then to only accept cash or Zelle who has a spare $500 on them. Or a couple other ways to pay that would cost you another fee. Real scam artists for sure. I warned anyone and everyone I know not to ever call these jokers.

Had to pay cash or Zelle for a jump on a Ram 5500 and they charged $880 when they were down the street! Sad there are people out there like this that take advantage of people.
I do not recommend this company. When calling, they took down credit card information first. The tow truck did not arrive at the stated time. We had to continuously call them only to be told they would be there soon. When the driver finally arrived much later, they charged for the milage they took to come out there and other charges. They also indicated they just got the call to come help me. Moreover, I unfortunately ended up having them tow my car for more than I should have paid. After the situation, I reached out to other tow companies who would have offered much better service at a better price. I later used other tow services with a much better experience.

I hire wrecker truck all year long in all USA to load Contrucion equipment ! i had a 40,000 lb machine that i need to be lift and load on a stepdeck trialer, the gave me a qoute of 1275 dlls/hr for each truck with a 3 hr minimuim, and told us that it would need 2 trucks for loading a 40,000 lb machine!! And we ended up paying 7405 dlls!! it took no longer to load than 1 1/2 hrs, and the ended up doing it with 1 truck only...
There priorty is not custumer service!!! Everybody there with a bad attitude !!! Be carfull with them !! You can see everything on the reviews, look like it was not just our occasion!!
Avoid this company. Dishonest snakes. We were told $195 an hour. They took our credit card over the phone. Came and pulled us out of a ditch (4 hours later than they said). The driver pulled us out and told us to call the office. The owner tried to get us to pay $600 bucks and said cash only. Was rude when we asked why. We were told $195. Tried to charge us $120 for a “rewind fee” for the wench. Said they had to charge us Cook County taxes when we were in DuPage. The bill we got emailed was $395. Filing a report tomorrow. Please avoid these scammer. Felt sorry for the driver, he knew the owner was trying to scam us is what it seemed
This place is an absolute scam. We waited for an hour and a half beyond their scheduled arrival time. Upon arrival, their equipment did not work and they could not get up the garage, even after we told them a big truck would not be able to. When they realized they could not perform the job, they had us pay above our initial quote for cancellation and noted it was on us as we did not let them push our car down five garage flights. Beyond that, they would not accept the card on file and made us Zelle on spot. When we called to speak with management, they were rude beyond belief.

We called them asking for a service and they said it would cost $125 to hook up the car plus $4 per mile from the Car pick up to drop off. They gave me a bill for $250, they towed my car only 11 miles, it should have been $169. They told me to pay via Zelle, I sent the money, but they didn’t accept it in the app instead stating they did not receive it. Then they said they would only release the car if I Paid cash. So I paid the cash then the next day they accepted my Zelle payment. So over all I paid $500. I called many times to get the $250 Zelle payment back and they hung up on me! Professional scammers!
They came quickly which is about all they did correctly. The driver hit and knocked down my across the street neighbor’s mailbox while positioning his truck. There wasn’t a single car on the street so he had plenty of room to work. He started my car, told me to let it run about 20 minutes and then drive around 30 minutes. I did all of that and my battery died just as I pulled into my driveway. I called the dispatcher and an extremely rude man named Ryan answered. I explained and he basically said there is nothing they will do, it would be another $230 to charge it again. Now I get the lie about the credit card reader error. They want cash so nobody will stop the payment on a credit card. Terrible customer service all around.
First of all they are rip off. They towed my truck from Gurnee to Plainfield il. Talk to dispatch over the phone and they told me it was going to be 199.00 per hour so maybe 4 hrs = $800.00. Ok fine. Gave them my credit card number to pay for the charges when finish the job. On our way to Plainfield il the tow truck driver how much was going to be and said $1305.45 . I couldn't believe it and got upset. Not only that when is time to make the payment their credit card system was down and they demand a Quick pay with zelle which I did. Never told over the phone that the system was down. Charged me $150.00 fuer sur chrge and supposedly another $150.00 for disconnecting the drive shaft. And never send a receipt thru mail. . Do not use them. They are rip off.
Towed my vehicle from Joliet Illinois to Morris, where they are not licensed to work. They put my vehicle in a large warehouse with no tools, no hoists, nothing. Claimed they did diagnostic testing and would not release my vehicle until I paid over $1200.00. They could not show me any diagnostic equipment that they used. I called the Morris police and when they showed up they told me they receive the same complaints about them week after week however it was a civil matter and I ended up having to pay them just to get my vehicle back. Complete and total scam. They have been investigated by wan and several other news outlets. They have hundreds of complaints on them and still able to operate! Beware!
Dead battery in my garage -they quoted $125 and then charged me $230 - the LIAR who answered the phone said he told me $125 to start which he didn’t I’m not stupid I would have asked how much more then! The driver was awesome and I give him 5 * but the dispatcher needs more training and to learn his one and only job of giving CORRECT QUOTES. Also let it be known my son was on his way home and told me to cancel the call he would jump my jeep for me but I didn’t want to be rude and cancel. Should have cancelled ~poor people always wanting everyone’s money stay away from this place !
I called this place for my semi truck to get towed the tractor only I was 20 miles out from there shop and the same distance where my truck was going. They gave me a price for 195 a hour with no minimum. After they hooked the truck up with no trailer took it 20 miles to my location. That’s when everything changed they then charged me $1236 unbelievable people please stay away from these people scammed me they are lying to people telling them one price so you could agree hook there truck up then give different price sooooo sad!!!!!
This is the worst company I have ever encountered I waited over an hour and the guy when I gave him a call back asking him when will they come he literally told me I was a liar and that I haven’t requested for a tow truck and charged me triple the amount and ended the call with your not getting a tow truck or a refund DO NOT ASK FOR THEIR SERVICE! They will steal your money and you will not get a service. Be aware.
He confirmed it was $65 during our conversation. I was frantic and distressed on the side on the road on a busy intersection terrified. He told me the sooner I sign he would get someone out to get me to Just Tires because they close. I believed him to have my surprise when I call back he blamed the 45 min wait time on me indicating I was on the phone 5 minutes long which caused the longer wait. I am so disappointed with my customer experience at the worst time when I’m stranded along side a highway. He knew and heard the sense of urgency in my voice and he took advantage of my desperate situation. He knew I wouldn’t read all the terms because he created the sense of urgency to sign as soon as I get it and he would the truck right away. This is very daunting that he created a more stressful situation. I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau after reading all the other comments of my similar experience and I will be fighting to get my money returned. I was only 3.1 miles from the place and I need to be towed 1.7 miles to the tire shop. They charged my card $224.00 because I called back to cancel the tow. He never advised if I cancel it will be a charge he just canceled it and said you’re not getting your money back and Hung up on me! He was very rude from the beginning.
I called this company due to battery not working therefore I needed help jumpstarting my car. However, the issue was the misleading information. I signed a online sheet and read through and all I saw about additional charges was if I used a card , check, ect. The pricing that I was told to what was taken out of my bank account actually is a huge difference. I was told “for the jumpstart it would be from 25-30 dollars”. I asked anything else and they said no. When they came and left they charged me 230 dollars... I called back and they said “well there are other additional charges” what??? I was told one thing and now another thing came about and now. This is just really upsetting because if I would have known this and the pricing better I would have said no. I would not recommend this place. They are liars, just take your money, and inconsiderate about the situation if you call back.
Had a pleasant experience with the guys at Jonnys today! No one likes having to deal with a tow. I found this service online after I had a flat and thought I needed it towed. The scheduling team was friendly and efficient. When Jim and the truck showed up he immediately offered to adjust the service needs and change out the spare to save me time and money! The service was quick and prices were reasonable. Would definitely recommend!
WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! They took 3 hours to get here. I called multiple times and they kept saying they were "so close." On the phone AND on the website we were quoted $65 for the service of moving car from my home to a nearby car repair place. I gave credit card information on phone and was led to believe I already paid. Then when leaving, the guy said he needed my credit card information again. I did so, thinking it was the same amount I had already agreed upon with the lady. Then he said my card was declined, which was because it went under fraud. At that point I got a text message with the price that it actually cost... which was $260. I immediately notified him that it was wrong. He acted like he had never heard a quote of $65 and that would NEVER happen. Then he proceeded to call multiple people. After multiple back and forth he said he was just going to take my car if I didn't pay. Next, I even showed him online it said $65, he went ahead and put words in my mouth saying that I found it from online and that was incorrect... but in reality we found them online, called to clarify the price before choosing them. This man literally harassed me into paying by threatening to take my car and was EXTREMELY combative. I have never felt so taken advantage of in my life. This is CLEARLY what these people do which is why they took 3 hours. NEVER go here, you will regret it. They are rude, liars, and will steal as much money as they can get. The man who towed me, named John, told me to call and ask for more information, which I did when I got home. The man who answered the phone hung up on me during my complaint. These people need to go out of business. It is not okay to do this to people.

The gentleman on the line didn't even introduce himself, spoke for about a one minute he didn't go into details in regards to how much the tire change would be or if there were any cancelation fees. He stated a driver would be out in about 45 min to an 1 hr. An hour passed, nothing. After 3 hours they showed up by that time my tire had already been fixed by another tow company and told them that I no longer needed their service since they took so long to arrive. They told me I had to pay a cancelation fee of $195 for them still having to come out even though services were not rendered and they showed up 3 hours later. The tow truck also parked behind my vehicle making sure I wouldn't leave without paying. I had to call the police so they could come and mediate the situation. During that time I called to speak to the manager and he was extremely rude on the line and hung up on me multiple times during mid sentence. He also had the audacity to blame me for not asking what the cancelation fee is and stated that it's "people" like me who don't want to pay that hold up their drivers. Please avoid this tow company at all cost, they're nothing but crooks and are trying to con you out of your hard earned money for services never rendered and showing up 3 hrs late. They're definitely not reliable, go elsewhere.
Should be zero stars. My car died and I was stuck in the middle of the road on an off ramp for OVER TWO HOURS. I called after 30 min, "oh its 25 min away" call after an hour "oh it's right up the street", they didn't show up until 2 whole hours after I called but instead of being upfront about the wait, they LIED to me multiple times. And I couldn't cancel because the cancellation fee was $195!! It ended up costing me $195 for them to eventually take me to a service station 0.7 miles away. I wish I did more research beforehand but I was in the middle of the road and scared. Luckily a good Samaritan was able to push me to the shoulder to safety, but that was the only luck I had. Don't waste your hard earned money on this company.
Unprofessional, rude!! Needed my car towed from my home to auto shop less than a mile away! Asked about price over the phone was told once the driver made it he would calculate where my car was going and go from there, that should have been a sign to hang up then! Got made it, hooked my car up and told me I owed $195 for hook up fee and since my car was going less than a mile he would waive the mileage price, I asked why it was never mentioned when I asked for price over the phone and he said he didn't take my call so he didn't know. I told him that I wasn't paying $200 for my car to go less than a mile and to unhook my car, he told me no he wasn't unhooking my car until he received the $195. He sat in my driveway for over an hour demanding money, almost ran me over when I tried to stop him from pulling off with my car! He took advantage that I was a female alone! Horrible experience, I gave him $50 to unhook my car and got no service in return! Huge scammers!!!!
DO NOT CALL THEY WILL LEAVE YOU STANDING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD! So this weekend, my motorcycle broke down on me, I called progressive road side assistance. Progressive told me it would be 50 min for services and assigned me Johnny’s towing. I finally got notice from Johnny’s and they said service was an hour and half away. This was much more than progressive told me, but I did not have a lot of options. I called the dispatcher asked if the ETA was accurate and he told me it was going to be every bit of 4:58. I stood on the side of the road waiting for 2 hours and at 5:00pm, I called asking where service was. He told me that my driver was on another call and he would be over shortly. He told me the driver was in my “area”. At 5:15, I called back and at 5:30, I called again. The dispatcher decided to no longer answer his phone. He would not take my calls, I am literally standing on the side of the road and the wonderful people of Johnny’s were such cowards that they would not answer. Finally at 5:45, I get a call from a driver who says he is heading over and should be in my area in another 45 min. I asked him where he was leaving from and he told me the Lombard location. That is when I figured it out. They had a shift change at 5:00pm, my delivery point was 21 miles away. The driver did not want to have to work late, when my call came in at 3:00. They waited for the 5:00pm driver to start before they even bothered to come help me. I was completely sunburned from having to stand next to my Motorcycle for 3.5 hours. I called another company and got picked up in 45 min. I waited for 3.5 hours for help from Johnny’s towing and they never came. If you are on your phone looking for help, do not call Johnny’s they will abandon you and help will never come!

Response times are horrific. Dispatch said tow truck would be 30 minutes. I called back and hour later for an update and they said 15 minutes. After 2 hours I called back and dispatch said driver will be contacting me soon. I didn't want to wait another hour so I cancelled and they still charged my card $125. Do yourself a favor and call a better service
Two huge issues with the company from my experience. First, they were more than 90 minutes late for the tow. It was a Saturday afternoon. However no big deal.
I had called the tow for a family friend who didn't speak english. They quoted me $65.00 to hook the car and $4.00 for every mile. When they towed my family friend car, they took advantage of them and charged him $195.00 for the hook and $5.00 for every mile. I called wit him 20 minutes of finding out and the dispatcher told me to call on Monday when the office ladies are in and they will get it all sorted out. Called Monday and spoke to "Johnny" the manager. He kept telling me we speak American in America and the guy should have known what he was signing. Never cared about the quote I got over the phone and wasn't helpful at all. He was being a huge prick the whole time.

I would strongly recommend finding another towing company to help you. I was in Rochelle on a December night. My car wouldn't start. I found this company in a google search. I called up asked for a price and how long it would to get a truck to my location. I was told $65, which I thought was expensive for a "jump", but it was cold out and they indicated they could be their in 20 minutes, so I agreed. After 28 minutes I received a call from a driver from their company, who asked me for my location(again), and once I told him, he indicated he could be there in "10 Minutes". I told him to just forget about it, and I will find another company since they were so late. The company I called indicated he could be there in 15 minutes(which he was) and he was half the price. After that, the owner(or manager not sure which) called back and was mad because I told their driver not to come. I told him they were going to be at least 20 minutes late, so I found a company that would provide more timely service, and he was only half the price. The owner proceeded to ask me "what did I expect since I was in the middle of nowhere"(Tell the good people of Rochelle they are in nowhere), and he called me a "loser" for telling his driver not to come. On a side note, I was making small talk with another customer at the Gas Station(where I was located), and when he found out who was coming, he frowned and indicated that they were incredibly expensive. He indicated they had charged someone $800+ for a tow of their pickup. He said he could go home and get his car starter, and I thanked him, but said the driver has to be here any minute because they were already late(little did I know they hadn't even assigned a driver at that point).
Horrible! This place is a rip-off! They lied to me about the cost of towing for my daughter's accessible vehicle. I saw the reviews online that said they were terrible after I asked them to come for me. I called back to confirm the prices. They told me it would be 89$ + 4/mile. I told them online it says 69, so they said ok 69$. Well you do the math, they towed us 4 miles but somehow charged me 156$. They steal from disabled people. When I called them and told them all of this the man started screaming at me to "explain my bill". I hung up on him and he stalker called me back from a different number. I asked if he was gong to give me any money back and again starts yelling at me to "explain my bill". I don't understand just tell people the cost then they don't get mad. Simple as that. How does this company owner not get that? Just stop lying to people, (and maybe yourself)?
I needed a tow yesterday and called at 5:15 pm. I was told a truck would be there within 45 minutes. After an hour I received a call that it was a little delayed because of traffic but someone would be there soon. The truck didn't arrive until 7:00. That is ridiculous. On top of that, I was charged $267 to be towed 15 miles. Completely outrageous. I have never had to pay anywhere close to that for a tow, but unfortunately, I am new to the area and my other companies were too far away...or so I thought. They would have gotten there faster and charged less. The only good thing was the driver was very friendly and professional.
