I recently had my first experience at Advance Auto Parts, and unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. During my initial visit, I waited for 45 minutes along with several other customers, which created a sense that our presence was an inconvenience to the staff. Despite the long wait, I proceeded to purchase the items I needed. On my subsequent visit to return an incorrect part, I encountered the acting manager, Bryan. Unfortunately, his demeanor was unprofessional; he was rude and sarcastic, making it feel as though we, the customers, were troublesome. This encounter, coupled with the prior experience, led to a significant dissatisfaction with the level of customer service provided. Given the challenges I faced, I would advise others to consider alternative options for their automotive needs. The lack of timely assistance and support during returns may result in a frustrating experience. I hope that future patrons may have better experiences, but based on my interactions, I would caution against visiting this establishment. Thank you for considering this feedback.

I called this location to order a water pump that I had under warranty, and they told me they didn't have my number in their system when I already ordered it a few months ago from this exact location (I just didn't pick it up yet). They told me they have a different system than the location I bought the original pump from, and that's why it's not showing up. So now I'm calling the location I first bought the water pump from and they told me they found me in their system, but that it was weird for the Hanover Park location not to show my warranty when they work on the same system. If you don't want to order my part, then just say that instead of playing games.

Knew the details about the car battery I was looking for and lent me the tools to trade it out right in the parking lot. Fast, knowledgeable and friendly. Rare in a retail setting nowadays. Even have a Military Appreciation Discount that isn't some b.s. Thank you. 03/23

Brought a $400 battery and after 1 year stopped holding charge. Return it and they told me it's ok., can not replace it. Bought one from Costco for $100 and my car works and starts perfect

Awesome customer service here. No pressure on trying to sell you items you don't need. The place had a constant flow of customers coming in and the staff was taking care of customers as quickly as they could but they just don't have enough help here. Current staff here probably deserve a decent raise or some type of commission based off of installation of some items. We all know how that 5 min battery install on a Negative degree day goes never as planned. Great work Tim E. I'll definitely be back because of your patience and honesty towards the customer!

When I walked in I was completely ignored at first. No greeting, nothing. I stood in front of one of the employees at the register and was still ignored. Overall the employees acted as if they couldn't be bothered to assist me when the store was completely empty. When competition like O'Reilly's and AutoZone just down the road, it's surprising to see this performance

Helpful. Knowledgeable. Sometimes understaffed. Sometimes enthusiastic about your project, which can get you back on the road quicker. The more experienced staff can distinguish between a routine job and something that might require a bit more to get done right.

Each auto parts store brand has their own "speciality" that is always in stock at their stores. Advance Auto Parts speciality seems to be taps and dies. When you mess up a threaded bolt or a bolt, especially on Asian vehicles that will have large diameter, fine-thread fasteners - come here. They have tons of taps and dies right in the front of the store that the big box hardware stores and other auto parts stores don't have in stock. Advance has saved me multiple times in the last few months from having to wait a couple of days for Amazon to deliver a tap or having to drive an hour to the nearest Ace Hardware that has something specific in stock.

I can't express enough gratitude for the outstanding service I received at Advance Auto on Irving . When I encountered an issue with a snowblower screw, the general manager went above and beyond by not only removing it but also assisting with the part installation. As someone handling repairs on my own due to cost constraints, their help was invaluable. The entire team demonstrated exceptional customer service, making me feel genuinely supported. Despite the cold weather, they tackled each customer's needs with a smile. I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the exceptional assistance and warm atmosphere. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team for making a challenging situation much more manageable. Highly recommended! The GM has unmeasurable leadership style it is reflected in the entire staff.

Awesome experience here. Helped right away by Daniel. Took care of everything that I needed recommended different options for my needs and didn't pressure me into buying anything. If you need parts come in and talk to this guy very knowledgeable. Doesn't try and upsale you on items like other places. Quick in and out with what I needed for my project!!!

Bought a battery less than 3 years ago and started having issue with the battery. Took it there for warranty and they said battery is good and they don't want to replace it. The guy at the counter was polite but not helping with the warranty replacement. They don't stand behind their product.

I came in the other day for wiper blades. Brandi was extremely helpful on choosing the right blades for my vehicle alongside very affordable for my wallet! Outstanding customer service, great conversation while installing them! Brandi even showed me how they get sometimes get stuck and how I can prevent them from being difficult to replace after awhile. Outstanding customer service, better than Autozone in my opinion!

I live in Cedar Rapids, IA. My family and I were in the area visiting relatives this past Thanksgiving. The Friday after Thanksgiving my truck's battery died. It wasn't charging at all despite the alternator testing normal voltage. I couldn't start the truck without jumping it. I was able to find a good Die Hard battery online at Advance Auto Parts at a price that beat similar batteries at most other places. The staff at the store was awesome and helped me find the new battery and replaced the old one for me while I was there. Being far away from home they really helped me out of a jam and I very much appreciate it.

I went to this location two weeks ago for a new car battery. I was referred by someone who told me I could purchase my battery and have it installed here for free. I called the location to ensure they had a battery for my car. The employee told me they did and so I purchased my battery online for pick up. I arrived and waited while an older gentleman installed a battery for another customer. Once it was my turn, the employee seemed to be having trouble figuring out how to remove the battery. I have a 2016 Chevy Cruze. He went inside to get a manager for help. The manage came outside, but didn’t seem very interested in helping the employee. He gave him little direction and just pointed to a few things and then went back inside. The employee went to get the manager two more times for help and each time the manager was short with the employee. The employee finally figured it out and replaced my battery. I thanked him and left. A week later, I started having issues with my car. I was have trouble starting my car and weird electrical issues. On Christmas night my car stopped on me while driving home on 290. The next day, I took my car to jiffy lube to figure out the issue. It was determined that one of my battery cables was left loose. I called advance auto parts and explained to the manager, who didn’t seem too interested what happen. I told him the employee was very nice, but had no support from the manager, which is why this dangerous thing happened. He said he would follow up with all employees to make sure they all know what they’re doing, but I highly doubt that will happen. Safe to say, I won’t visit this place again.

Very disappointed in the customer service received at this location. Last week we went in to purchase halogen lamps for our vehicle. When he told the employee, somehow we were given the incorrect ones. We didn’t realizar this until we took out the old one from the vehicle and saw they were not the same. I went back to the store to try and exchange the item (which was still unopened in the package), but was told we couldn’t without a receipt, even though it was no our mistake. I asked him if we could use the credit card to look up our purchase, but were told no. The gentlemen at the desk provided n great customer service, even though he stated he’d been doing this awhile and is there to help customers. Very unfortunate.

This is for the Hanover Park location only. I have bought from this location before, however I try to stop going here because the service has been 50/50. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. Today 07/04/21 was horrible. I was waiting for someone to help me while the person in front was getting a new battery and the staff were having a seriously hard time determining whether it was a gel or a regular battery. Anyway, that seemed to be an ordeal for another customer. For me when helped, I just asked for a distributor cap and rotor. I was then asked "Brake rotor?". No distributor cap and rotor. "A hubcap?" No. Staff finally got around to understanding me, and then was told I have to special order that. Not a big deal, I understand. Even though website was able to order and pick up. I then just asked if any stores in area had them. Couldn't really understand the first city, or something I have not heard of in my area, but understood Palatine. I asked which street the store in Palatine is, and was told, "You can just google it." Okee doke then... Last time I ever go to this store. Plus on top of it, now that I am leaving a negative review, the parking lot to this store is the worst parking lot ever. If you have a nice car, be careful maneuvering your way around this lot. Left two stars for this store instead of one only because I have had good experiences in the past. Telling me to google a store when he had it up on the screen is ridiculous. Obviously sometimes you may get knowledgeable staff, but sometimes you will end up getting a hubcap instead of a distributor cap.

so I went into advanced for help ive been in several times and the g.m David is the best he helped me work thru many issues to rule out told me things to but to help he took time out to help me when he had 3 other customers waiting foe his h3lp specifically. h3 was kind of enough to take care of me when i can3 back after trying what he said.. he is the guy to go to!!! recommend this store to everyone

They don't want to help. I needed break pads and informed over the phone "Raymond's rude. I know i bought break.pads here and asked if.he could check. He stated no and hung up. Guess they don't want business and definitely no customer service at this location.

Absolute worst Advanced Auto I have ever been to! Employees absolutely don't care about anything but joking with friends and listening to music. I ordered some paid for pick up items . They never picked them! I ordered some engine parts, when I called on the delivery date they told me the parts are no longer there! When I told him again today IS the delivery date I was met with the brain dead stare! Powers on nobody who gives a fudge is home!

Poor customer service. Went to the store today around 7:35 am to ask for a replacement part for the second time since they kept giving me the wrong product. The guy assisting me today was rude. Told me on my way out to "make sure the door doesn't hit you on your way out". Will never go back to this branch.

They were very helpful, very friendly, & made the visit easy. Informed me of promotion for oil & helped me get more & save. Most of these auto places I've been too the people seem miserable. The co-workers have a good relationship & the employees are treated well it shows. Thank you so much.

Terrible Customer service. I was overcharged by over $50 by a clerk (Jim) on an order and when I went back to the store to dispute it, the clerk (Carlos) said only the manager, Louie, could help. I went back 3 days later when he was there (he's only there like 2-3 days a week). He refused to help me. He offered me a paper "voucher" in the form of his business card with a signature that was only good at his store and for less than 1/2 the value that I was overcharged. When I complained and asked if it would be accepted even if he wasn't there, he dismissed my concerns and I was forced to buy overpriced parts right away out of fear the "voucher" wouldn't be accepted later. I even called customer service and they asked (in a rude tone of voice) me why I took so long to contact them and said they wouldn't do anything. Lesson learned, the staff at this store is ill trained and not completely honest. The company is crooked with terrible customer service even on their 1-800 number. ALWAYS check your receipts as they will cheat you if they can. I'm never going back and will stick to Amazon/Rock Auto and Autozone. They are all way friendlier and honest.

As a young woman trying to navigate fixing up my late Grandfathers truck, Dave, Efron (may be spelling it wrong) and this guy with a beard i’m unsure of his name, have been very kind and helpful throughout this process, they seem very knowledgeable and i’ve had great experiences with their recommendations.

On Sunday 3/15/20 I came in the store because my engine light came on and I was greeted by Ms Yanira she was the most helpful person she found what I needed for truck and she assisted me throughout my process. She had a great attitude and very good at her job. I will recommend everybody to advance auto and ask for Ms. Yanira my favorite associate. Thank you

I called in advance to this place and asked the person who answered if I buy a battery will it also be installed, I was told yes. I get there and well my boyfriend and I ended up having to figure out how to install it ourselves in the parking lot and they provided the tools. We tried for a good 20 minutes and then Jim came outside to help. He was quick too. He knows what hes doing.
